Beautiful hotel with amazing service. The pool is lovely - only drawback is that there aren't more facilities within the complex. But I suppose California is on your doorstep and you can easily spend hours hiking/ biking around the area.
My husband and I were impressed by the great service we received at this beautiful hotel. The staff--from reception to concierge to the restaurant--were all very warm and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay great. It makes a difference! Our room was spacious and comfortable--the deep soaking tub and a good espresso machine were especially appreciated. The pool is fabulous and far bigger/nicer than most. The food at the hotel's lounge and restaurant was delicious (we had lunch and breakfast). I hope to return to stay at Rosewood Sand Hill again.
We absolutely love this hotel. It is a great resort very close to Stanford, and Palo Alto area. The pool is amazing, and breakfast is great. Very family oriented. The rooms are spacious and newly renovated. Definitely Recommend.
For all it's hype and circumstance, my recent weekend was quite underwhelming. Arrived at 3pm, was told the room wasn't ready and wouldn't be for another hour. Geez, "that's disappointing, isn't check in at 3p?" Was told they were fully committed the night before. "Congrats!" I said, most 4 star hotels account for for that. Opted to wait at the pool, where we sat fully clothed, and ate free Guacamole, and a drink. Finally got to our room, which was pretty basic, and overlooked an over grown birch tree assemblage. The overall look of the place is reminiscent of a well appointed condo development with an unimaginative grounds schema. Did get our suits on and braved the pool scene. Which I would describe as an upscale YMCA with a smattering of aging Silicon Valley types, sprinkled with the "I'm auditioning to be on the 'Housewives of Menlo Park' if they ever cast that series." Although kids at the Y are much better behaved. Service staff were friendly but like us, felt lost in the mix and wondering "what am I doing here?"
Beautiful property, exceptionally decorated and maintained as one would from a Rosewood property. The crowd was clearly Silicon Valley's finest movers and shakers. Loads of well-dressed man there for meetings and business discussions over a drink with a view. I was there myself for a work meeting in the main bar but got the feeling like there were a few women there looking for more than just a drink.
Living in San Francisco we were ready for a weekend out of the fog. Fortunately Rosewood Sand Hill is only a 30 minute drive South. In the two days we were there we took advantage of everything the resort has to offer. However the experience started a few days earlier receiving personal emails from Josh, Leslie & Sarah in Guest Relations...asking how old our little ones were and their interests. Sarah went above and beyond and squeezed a last minute massage appointment in for my wife when the original time and service were not available. Arrival was fast and had a personal welcome from Sarah who has been at the hotel since it opened. After being walked to our room and assisted with the luggage we found kids sized robes, toys, and other items waiting for us in the room. Nice touch! We quickly found our way to the pool which has resort quality service and atmosphere. The attendants and servers were very friendly and helped us run up a sizable tab enjoying the day's special Tito's cocktails and Grapefruit Sculpin drafts. It was full but not packed and was a mixture of couples, families and individuals relaxing. We came back to the room turned down with the pull out couch completed made up into a bed with duvet and all. I would have enjoyed sleeping on it myself! After cleaning up after the pool we were nervous about taking 4.5 year old twins to the Terrace outside the bar which was quiet but busy. Thankfully the kids behaved we were welcomed to dinner al fresco including delicious Moshin Rose and various shared appetizers---while watching the sun go down. After the kids passed out we enjoyed wine on the private patio outside the room with a gorgeous view of the hills and sky. The freeway is right there but is more of a white background noise than an annoyance. The bedding was silky smooth and provided a great nights rest for everyone. It was not easy to motivate for the gym in the morning! We took turns using the beautiful fitness center and my wife had a massage at the spa which she said was amazing. Apparently all hotel guests can use the water features the spa. I'll need to remember that for next time. We even used the pool for a few hours before checking out and heading home. We are lucky to have a resort so close to home in a beautiful setting with great amenities and service. We will be back!
This well appointed hotel is an "in" place. Can be noisy in public spaces. A "to see and to be seen" kinda place. Very pricey. Food choices are limited and expensive. Valet parking is virtually required.
We have had several meetings arranged there, and they do a wonderful job. The location is great, everything is well planned out. The food is good at the restaurant also. Prices commensurate with the area (very high) but not unreasonable.
Great hotel near Stanford and the major VCs of Sand Hlll Road. Great place to relax with an excellent pool and spa. The rooms are appointed well and very comfortable. The staff I encountered were fantastic. The bar and restaurant area were great with beautiful views.
