Overall, I had a positive experience during my stay. First off, it is better than your average hotel in Shenzhen, and definitely very good for the price I paid. I stayed in the 19th executive floor, not sure about the other floors, but this floor have nice and spacious rooms. (See room pics I attached to this review) Breakfast options are also good for a westerner, and the staff are very friendly, much better than many other hotels I stayed in before in Shenzhen. Things to watch for: - First off: The restroom has glass wall that makes everything in the restroom/washroom visual to the rest of the bedroom. There are blinds that you can use from inside the restroom, but it doesn't cover 100%. If you are booking the hotel with someone, just take that point into consideration. (see the pictures) - The south wing of the floor oversees some kind of outdoor theater/hall space that has a lot of noise. For a light-sleeper like me, the noise level was really high. People start to dance with very loud music from like 7am till 10pm every day. I didn't mind that on weekdays, since I am most of the time at work, but was a real pain during weekends. (see the pictures) - As like many previous trips I had before, I went out of Shenzhen through HKG Airport, and was hoping like my previous trip to get a 200Y shuttle from the hotel all the way to HKG Airport. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't offer a shuttle service. So, for the best and easiest way IMO, you will either have to take a taxi to a near-by hotel that can offer you a shuttle service and take that shuttle from there, or, do like what I did, and take a taxi to the Huanggang Port on the border with Hong Kong and then take a 150Y shuttle from there all the way to Hong Kong Airport. You don't need to walk anywhere to take the shuttle, they are served at the same curb the taxi will drop you at. Just note that as per to the new Chinese regulation (Dec 2017), you will still need to cross the border and go through passport control on the Chinese mainland side on your feet before you go out and take that same shuttle again to the airport.
Haven't stayed in a Ramada for 20 years and after my visit to this Ramada it will take another 20 years until my next visit. The check-in was great. Very friendly. It went downhill from there. My non-smoking room smelled like an ash-tray. The room was big but has for certain seen better days, like 10 years ago. Really creepy. The bed was ok. The property do not have a business center like they claim that they have, unless a lobby and check-in like the photos of the business center shows counts like one. I will be happy to pay twice as much and stay at one of the Hilton properties a few kilometers away.
This hotel was selected due to good location for my business meetings. The room in 19th floor was quite nice and very clean, a lot of space and basically everything necessary was there. Positive point was also the bed, which was very comfortable for me (I don't like soft beds, but very stiff one works fine for me). The room had however some place for improvement, the ventilation made quite a noise, including some resonance noise at nightime (even when turned off, likely the main ventlation machines on the roof made the noise) . Also the lock in the door was not the easiest case. It took a while before reception guys managed to reset the lock in such manner that they could give me a key which finally worked. This took 30min when I did a late night check in and it was a bit frustrating effort. Lobby area is not so big and the lifts were quite slow (capacity issue likely). Laundry returned 12h late. Breakfast was very good.
The room is large and beautiful. Bed are comfortable, HOWEVER, by arriving I felt a hige disgusting smell of mould So terrible that I could almost not bare. Later, reminding times that I planted soy, I identified that smell as Fipronil. Ok, understandable since I was wake up by a cocroach walking on my leg. Thats it. Ahhh, luch was terrrrrible experience, even if (chinese style) breakfast was great
Well located. It's a not do modern hotel and difficult for english language. The wifi works fine but to activate it you need to have a chinese telephone number which is not acceptable. Breakfast is good with many choice. Not a hotel to come back again.
Although it is an international brand, Ramada Plaza SZ north is a very typical Chinese hotel. Lobby is big and bright, but overall it is not internationalize. Front desk is not well trained, they do not have customer service. Room is huge and bed is comfortable as usual, the maintenance is not well. However, it is already far more better than those local Chinese brand hotel, for short staying in SZ, it is absolutely no problem.
Pleasant property in very busy area. Rooms very spacious and comfortable along with a fridge & microwave in the room. Breakfast buffet had both Western and Chinese components with a lot of variety. Front desk at night had limited Engish facility and we communicated well through a smartphone app but lots of English speakers during day shift. Free transfer to Shenzen North Train Station
That was my first time that I traveled to China and that hotel is located in a nice street and you can easily walk from hotel to metro or enjoy walking around the hotel. The most positive point of this hotel is kind and responsible staff that really care about guests. Also the park in front of my room was amazing and I loved watching people while dancing. Also room was perfect So I will choose it again if I go to that city again.
if you are reading this, you are probably an international traveler and want to find if this hotel suits for your requirement. Let me put this very clearly: Pros: a) Excellent room b) very reasonable price Cons: Pretty much everything else. Staff doesn't communicate in any language other than Chinese (even front office), they don't have any recreational activity (gym is small and very bad shape), breakfast is very average and way below than international standard etc. Overall, this is your place if you need a place to sleep only and not going to stay over weekend or holiday. For vegetarian, please ignore this place as much as possible.
My Hotel in Shenzhen. Good localization, near Rail Station. Big room, clean, but with a bad breakfast, no international food. Staff is nice. I stay in this hotel for more then 1 year. Good for business.
