Mission Hills Resort Shenzhen5.0 out of 5.0

the room was very modern and we'll kept. We visited for 5 nights with friends to play golf at olazabel, world cup and faldo courses! The weather cooperated and was fairly cool. English speaking staff were available but they were trying to assist. Restaurant food was ok but overall a great resort. We took body massages and foot/shoulder massages at the spa as well. I would stay there again.
Stayed for only 1 night. Was lucky to get lobby level room. Room was huge! Got the twin bed room. Overall atmosphere was very relaxing. Free shuttle service to and from the Mission Hills Mall plus other MH facilities. Paid shuttle to the Shenzhen/HK border available. Breakfast selection was great! The concierge staff had some kind of attitude problem though. The hotel reception and clubhouse reception had a misunderstanding that caused time and effort at my expense. Language barrier with the housekeeping staff if you dont speak chinese. They tried to charge RMB60 for scotch tape which i only needed alittle pieces. Not the entire roll.
We loved everything about the resort. Definitely didn't expect that level for the price we paid, it's certainly a great deal. We had a suite overlooking the lake, below us was a beautiful tropical garden with canopy beds. We were a bit away from the pool - just the right distance away from the noise, but still close enough to get there quick. The pool is perfect for a family with kids, they have pool toys and little islands, all very picturesque and in good condition. Every breakfast was like a little party, great variety, delicious bakery as well as healthy breakfast choices. Tried some traditional breakfast there too, it was really good. The room service may be a little overpriced, I mean the food was OK, but in China you can better food at a much lower cost, so I would just get takeout from the shopping mall nearby. The bed was nice, there were different pillows to play with, the conditioner was a little too harsh, but we had it turned off most of the time and the room was still comfortable. The bathroom was pretty big with a bathtub and deliciously smelling bath gel. No insect problems, everything was clean. The staff was very very helpful, patient, friendly and did a good job helping me with what I needed. In China it's really important, when you don't speak the language, having someone who you feel is caring about your interest is priceless, and that was probably the biggest highlight about my stay. On the downside, the security deposit I had to leave was a bit too much. I know they do that in Asia, but the amount is usually not THAT high. But, like I said, this hotel is worth more than they charge, so after I saw everything that it offered, I didn't mind the deposit, especially since is would be returned. The real problem is not planning that expense in advance, since you don't know how much it would be. I do not play golf, so I have nothing to say about that. We visited Mission Hills for figure skating completion at the MH Mall, and out kids were extremely happy to stay and rest at the MH Resort, it was a perfect combination of work and play and I can only be thankful to Mission Hills for the experience.
Quite liked this for a one night stay on a business trip. While I didn't play it was a nice change being surrounded by golf courses. Found the room a little dark but still very good. Always a challenge finding North American food choices in China that taste "right". All in all a nice stay and would recommend.
We want to Mission Hill resort for a golf WE with friends. The resort is ok but for the price we paid we were expecting a better service. They're positioning the resort as a "Luxe" standard but we were pretty disappointed. The resort was very crowded with a lot of families and kids. One pool was totally close for a private party. Every time we were asking for a service, the answer was no or not possible (spa, tee off, ...). The golf is very very nice but service is very bad. If you want to go to Mission Hills for a golf experience, you've better to choose Mission Hills Dongguan, not Shenzhen....
We used Mission Hills as an oasis during a grueling two week trip around various parts of China. World Class is sometimes overused, but not here. The food, service, ambience all combine to compete with any resort. Add a dozen top tier golf courses and you have the perfect mini ( or extended ) vacation. The Peking Duck is a must, as is a visit to The Patio for some great US style food and entertainment. We will be back on our next trip to China.
Hotel is very good and reasonably priced but appeared fairly quiet in the bars and restaurants even though the courses are very busy. The 3 golf courses we played were excellent but expensive at >$300 per round and one round took 5 1/2 hours with the others about over 4 1/2 hours.
Golf with the lads! A five star golfing paradise. Very clean, modern and super friendly resort. Rooms are spacious with all you need. 2 large pools for swimming and relaxing. Lots of good restaurants if you don't Want to venture outside. I'm loving it here!!
I attended a conference at the resort as a day visitor (no sleep over). It is a world class resort for the business and leisure traveller. I am not a golfer but my colleagues assure me that the many courses are as good as they look. The resort and the clubhouse provide all the quality faculties a conference planner could want. The dedicated buffet was adequate for the needs of our big group. Staff are friendly and super efficient but English competence was "few and far between". The supermarket and the ATM are super convenient. The pool was drained "for winter" so the pool area was drab and uninviting but the gardens are beautiful.
My travels to Europe and the Mediterranean did not prepare me for this. Even the corporate rate rooms are stunning. All the appointments are refined and beautiful. The writing desk has a leather blotter, the TV remote is in a prtotective box. The TV welcomes you by name with the weather and local information. On-site dining offers lots of delicious choices; I tried several menu items during my stay and was always impressed by the presentation and flavor. Welcoming staff is friendly and efficient. Hint: there is a local Family Mart 5 minutes from the check in with local snacks, necessities, and beer. You can get local currency at a nearby ATM.
