We booked a queen room, but I swear this bed was more like a double than a queen since we sleep on a queen at home! I enjoyed the art work that was included in the room, but found the room itself to be cramped around the bed itself. One wrong move and your knee or shin will end up on the corner of the bed frame or the corner of the TV unit. There were no lights in the room that lite up the room brightly. There were three table lamps, diffused ceiling lights, and a small row of lights by the TV.

Hotel staff was great: they sent up a pot of tea when I arrived late night; stored bags no fuss. Hot cocoa treat in lobby on cold rainy Seattle afternoon. Prime location few blocks from Pike Market but quiet. Large well appointed room. Bookstore Cafe large selection of scotch and yummy breakfast.

Staff was super helpful with recommendations for restaurants and activities. Bed was comfortable and the room was large

FIRST BEWARE, you will be charged an additional $52 per night (including tax) for parking! The decor is well, tacky especially in the room. Looks like an year old lady with high blue hair did the decorating. Although there was room for a sofa, there was none. Just one ugly chair. There is no dresser in the room so forget about staying for a week unless you want to just keep pulling things out of your suitcase. Most boutique hotels I stay in at least have a sundries shop or store where you can purchase minor items and snacks at a slightly higher price to pay for the convenience. Not THIS place! They are out to suck out every last dollar you have in your pocket! Instead of offering some items at a slightly higher cost for convenience, they charge $5.00 for a $.99 bag of chips. A 6oz can of cashews was $15.00!!! HAHAHAHA! FORGET ABOUT MAKING COFFEE WHILE YOU SHOWER! This place doesn't even have a coffee maker in the room. Again, most boutique hotels and well most ALL hotels, have coffee makers in the rooms! All this being said, the one thing good I can say about this hotel is that the staff are amazing!!!!! It's too bad the hotel doesn't live up to the quality of the staff.

My husband and I stayed at the Alexis for our anniversary. We were given a very large room because we had booked an in-room massage. However the massage was canceled by a staff member the morning the service was supposed to take place. We were assured by the staff that they would take care of rescheduling the service. Unfortunately this took being passed off to 3 different staff members before the service was rescheduled to our satisfaction. Not the hotel's best moment but the rest of the experience was great. We particularly enjoyed & appreciated the Bookstore bar, the parking attendants and our way above average sized room.

Very pleased with the location to restaurants and Pike Place Market and the train station and ferry docks! Staff was very professional and friendly. Room was good size and very clean. In hotel cafe bookstore was excellent. Free wine tasting, sushi appetizer and fruit in lobby one evening was a great touch that didn't go unnoticed!

The hotel is a very wonderful place to stay. The total staff was both very pleasant and helpful. The Bookstore Bar and Grill had a super menu and outstanding service.

For a Kimpton, which I stay at a lot, this one did not impress. The location was good. The parking charge was exorbitant.

It was nice. It's downtown. Good location. Nothing too special, but a good value for the winter months.

Nice place, great location to the pier as well as Pike's Marketplace. Nice staff. Clean rooms. Quiet.

Super nice hotel -- great location, close to the waterfront as well as the Pike's Marketplace.

Great location, easy walk to stadium & Pikes Market. Staff is great. Pricey restaurant.

Room was so spacious that it could be characterized as a suite. We especially liked complimentary Starbucks coffee every morning and wine every evening. Easy mass transit to and from airport, and Seattle 's best attractions and wonderful restaurants easily within walking distance . Sweet complimentary bicycles for use by guests. Staff attentive and delightful.

The Alexis Kimpton Hotel on First Ave. was very conveniently located for the activities we had planned for our week long stay in Seattle. We wanted to be centrally located in the downtown area so that we could easily walk to the market, the Waterfront and the shopping areas on 3rd, 4th, and 5th Avenues. I did not remember to ask for a room in the newer tower (per another review) until after we had checked in. I decided to go with it and the room was very spacious. We had a room with 2 beds, a large desk, a comfortable sofa and leather chair, a good sized foyer and closet and separate rooms for the tub/toilet and the sink and a full length mirror. It was decorated nicely with a serene pallet of blue and taupes. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The staff was exceptional, from the front desk to the doorman, absolutely no complaints there! My only complaint, although it didn't bother my traveling companion, was the deliveries made in the alley behind the hotel very early in the mornings. Maybe it was more noisy because we were on the second floor. No, I didn't say anything until we checked out and the front desk person asked if there was anything that could have made our stay better. When I mentioned the noise, she immediately apologized and assured me that they would make sure we would have a quieter room during our next stay. And yes, we will stay at the Alexis when we return to Seattle. We would make one suggestion-- add some more storage space in the bathrooms, there is plenty of room for some more shelves or drawers, even a hook would have made things a lot more convenient. One last thing, I can't compliment the staff enough, they were very helpful with every situation we brought to them, one of the best group of people we have ever dealt with!

From the valet to the front desk the staff were helpful and attentive. We arrived during the free wine tasting so it was great to have a nice glass of wine as we settled into the room. The room was a interesting mix of contemporary with some fussy accents, overall cool though. Great location to dining and shopping.

Great staff, accommodated my scheduling needs. Attentive and friendly. Nice location and clean room. Recommended!

Best hotel I've ever stayed at! Beautiful, amazing staff, close to everything. I will never stay anywhere else in Seattle again!! I can't wait to go back!

While the facility is excellent and the location is very convenient, it is the people who make the Alexis head and shoulders above the competition. They are all friendly and professional and they all clearly enjoy their job.

Lovely hotel. bathroom area to put things away is not great

Thank you so much for your review of your stay with us. Glad you were able to take advantage of the location right in the heart of Seattle. Every room in the hotel is different if you are looking for a little more space to really kick up your heels on your next stay I would recommend our King Deluxe or even our Premier Suite which has a separate sitting area that you can watch television.
