Very noisy doors banging shut all night outside noise terrible. Breakfast would be better as table service can’t seem to cope with buffet always having to wait for food to come from kitchen . Spa to small for size of hotel . For jury’s being a good brand this hotel has let them down somewhat . If you are wanting a good nights sleep avoid this hotel at all costs
I stayed here for two weeks recently due to work and I had a very comfortable stay indeed compared to a very average stay at the Mercure Inverness in the city centre. I was initially worried about noise from outside as the road is rather busy but the lady at check-in was very helpful and gave me a room on the 5th floor which was nice and quiet save for the faint traffic noise and the odd train passing outside. The room itself was modern and nice and warm with decent heating and good size TV. The bed and bedding was also super comfy! It was kept nice and clean by the house keeping staff each day. I did have a small issue with the shower temperature fluctuating at times particularly during the morning period but the lady at check-out assured me she would look into it. Breakfast was decent enough with the usual sorts of choices available. The hot selection could be a little dry at times, however, having sat there for some time under the heat lamp I guess. I didn't get the chance to try the gym or pool but I believe they are good and the free parking is a bonus too. I would definitely stay here again!
We arrived slightly annoyed because our luggage had been lost during transit but we were welcomed warmly by the receptionist who, it turned out, was German and therefore made communication a lot easier. She was accommodating throughout our entire stay, as was the rest of the staff. Seriously, it is the team and their interactions with customers that made our stay one to remember and got this average hotel a very good review! We had room 223 (I think). At the very end of the hallway which meant no noisy foot traffic. Overall the room was made to look modern with the furniture but there are obvious signs of age. There was a layer of dust on the air vent in the bathroom but the rest of the room was clean, including the bedsheets which isn’t always a given. Hint: the air vent in the bathroom creates continuous air circulation which is rather noisy. With that thing turned on, I wouldn't have been able to sleep but luckily it can be turned off which we only found out after someone from the reception came up and showed me. Again, staff for the win! The biggest annoyance was this: every night at around 4am something made loud clunking noises. I first thought it was an electrical outlet that was about to blow up in my face but maybe it was the heater being turned on again? To this day I have no clue what it was, just that it annoyed the hell out of me and boyfriend. Overall, the hotel was ok, clean and in a good location. (A taxi ride to Inverness City takes only 5 minutes.) The biggest plus here is definitely the staff. Always friendly, accommodating and looking out for the guests wellbeing. If you want good service for your money in Inverness, this is the place to go.
Having stayed at the Jury's Inn, Inverness, previously I was very disappointed this time. So much seems to have declined in a very short space of time. Bathroom was a disgrace with paint peeling from the bath; toilet flush handle held on with a screw which did little to ease the operation as toilet never flushed 1st time; wash basin replaced but was smaller than previous and nothing done to alter the worktop it was cut into; white silicon around basin, toilet and shower all coming away; bottom of door all split and inner laminate coming away due to steam from shower or water on floor. Lounge bar called last orders at 10.15 on Friday night as staff said they weren't busy enough to stay open. We had returned to the hotel from the theatre just before 10 and were looking forward to a couple of drinks before bed! Staff were friendly enough but seemed a little bit uncertain when asked anything and the crisp smart appearance from previous visits was gone. Guy who greeted us on Saturday morning looked like he had slept in his uniform. To finish on a positive note the bed was comfortable and the breakfast very good.
The hotel was a bit poor with run down rooms. The toilet was awful and rundown too. The entire experience was not that great and I certainly wouldn't stay here again if I had a choice. The location is excellent though if you want to get around Inverness.
This hotel advertises free Wifi which is of great use for business users - unfortunately in my experience the Wifi works fine for around 10 mins and then drops out. This was not due to my laptop because I checked it next day on another network and it was fine. If you are likely to need a good Wifi connection during your stay I would not book here. The rooms though are comfortable and clean although not particularly spacious. They also advertise cosy duvets but I found this too hot - I wish hotels would offer different duvet weights as not everyone wants to be roasted during the night - I had also turned off the heating but could not open the window due to traffic noise. As the hotel is adjacent to a main road there is some traffic noise.
Nothing to complain about, good hotel, great staff and spa facilities. Parking is easy and close link to airport. About 20 min walk to centre of town. Room was spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Iron and ironing board in room, great for lazy packers.
Our visit here was lovely. Hotel looks like it has been recently refurbished and everything looked new and fresh. There was a part night on and the staff seemed a bit rushed but all in all we had a very pleasant stay
The food in the hotel is really poor I got steak which was cold and I had to wait 40 minutes for my meal - on the second night I had to wait 45 minutes for my second course the fish was not nice it was obviously frozen and did not taste nice. The prices of drinks at the bar are expensive and it took ages to get served. I would not stay here again the rooms at the front are really noisy as they are adjacent the the main road and railway line.
We booked a 2 night stay at the beginning of January as a birthday treat. We got a good deal with early check in and late check out and a bottle of Prosecco. On arrival the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. On entry to our room we were met with a distinct musty smell. We opened the window hoping the smell would go. We left for the afternoon and did not return until late evening, unfortunately the room still had a stale musty smell. The breakfast was very good with a wide range of hot and cold food to pick from, there was plenty of everything, the only down side was the hot food could have been a little warmer but this is to be expected when it’s buffet style. The leisure facilities were excellent, gym, pool, sauna, steam room & jacuzzi. We made great use of the facilities. You had to pay a £1 deposit for a padlock to the guy at the leisure desk for the lockers. There was no one there when I left on the Saturday and knowing I would be returning the following day instead of hanging about I kept my padlock. The following day on leaving the leisure area I handed in my padlock. The guy just looked at me, I asked for my £1 back and he said I didn’t give you a padlock, I told him there was no one there the day before so I kept it. He reluctantly gave my my deposit back but I felt like he was accusing me of taking the padlock without paying. The bar area was pleasant and popular. The hotel location was good, we walked in to the city centre in 20 minuets. We also walked to the retail park which as closer. There is ample free parking at the hotel. We did not say anything to the reception about the musty smell in the room as we did not wish to cause any conflict but they do need to address this issue as I note other reviewers have also mentioned it. Lastly, my husband emailed the hotel in advance of our arrival to advise it was a special occasion and ask for a nice room. Unfortunately he never received a reply.
