I really can't comment on the things I normally comment on because I could not even check in to this property. I chose it because I was visiting my mother in the Royal University Hospital across the street. I did not arrive until midnight (as I had confirmed by special request with booking.com). The taxi dropped me off and I was left trying to communicate with a very unhelpful answering service for 30 minutes in the dark. The fact that I had a written confirmation with my arrival time did not seem to matter-the off site supervisor refused to come down and check me in. I had also emailed the property earlier in the evening, asking if there were any special instructions because of my late arrival. That email was not responded to. I ending up having to walk to another hotel (across the bridge), the Parktown where I had to pay a premium but had a wonderful experience. I will never book this property again.
We got into Saskatoon after the office closed and they left our key in a lock box outside. Easy to get into and so clean and nice. Soft carpet felt great on the toes. Bed was pretty firm but I slept well.
It was easy to find and a great location! Close to the river, downtown, the university and the RUH. It's a very clean and updated place. The floors were a little creaky but it is a very modern looking building. This was the cheapest place we could find to stay. Sharing a bathroom and kitchen with two other rooms is fairly minor if you've ever stayed in a hostel.
All i want in a room when I'm away is a bed, tv, and cleanliness. This place has it all! 3 rooms share a bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom was spotless and simple. Well worth the price. The only downside is at 7am on the weekend I couldn't find breakfast or a Tims near by.
I had booked my stay about a week in advance. It was for one night. Since travelling across Canada and wanting to drop off my luggage at the Lodge prior to check-in (which is from 2pm onwards but I was to arrive early), I mailed the Lodge prior to arrival. They replied within a reasonable time and ensured it would be fine. Well. When I arrived around 1pm, no one was around. It was -30° celsius outside temperature but nobody was there to open the door. I surrounded the house, knocked on every door (front, side, and back) and rang the bell a view times. I furthermore tried calling them on both phone numbers I found in the signature of their email. Nobody answered on one but I got connected to somebody using the other number - but that person was not from the Lodge and had no idea why I was calling. Luckily, Nicole from Laura's Lodge next door (1026 College Drive) was around and gave me shelter. I am so thankful for her - I could stay at Laura's Lodge until we got hold of somebody at the Netty's Nest. I was able to check-in at the Netty's Nest later on and the room was okay. It was clean, there were clean dishes in the kitchen and they provide free wifi. But there was only one channel working on the tv and the windows which are facing a busy street, weren't closing properly. Apart from that, the most uncomfortable feeling of being lost remained... I definitely don't recommend staying at the Netty's Nest. The location is good but it's the same as at Laura's Lodge. If coming to Saskatoon again, I will go for Laura's Lodge, that's for sure!
My daughter was in the hospital for a week so this was a most convenient place to stay for the purpose I was in Saskatoon. Clean, comfortable bed. Shared washroom and kitchen with 2 other rooms, not a problem as most of the time only one other guest on same floor for a couple of days. Staff very helpful and pleasant at all times. Also within walking distance of CBD so very handy location.
My wife was in the hospital. I went for a place with few amenities as I was going to check in late and out early. The place was easy to find clean and modern. I checked in at 9:30 and out 10hrs later. There is no pool etc but I was not in need of those things. It was 90F in my room when I arrived. It took the windowshaker about an hour to get the room to a livable temp. The cable package sucked but it did have a new flat screen. Everything seemed new. The "dorm" style of sgaring a kitchenette and bathroom with 3 other rooms was inconvenient in the morning. On the whole if all you are looking for is a place to lay your head it is not a bad choice.
Needed an inexpensive place to stay in the city for one night and decided to try out Nettys Nest. Was a very nice little place in a good location close to the university. Rooms and Bathrooms were very clean and tidy.
This was an inexpensive but comfortable stay in Saskatoon. 4 rooms share a washroom and kitchenette, but I loved it. Felt like a home away from home. Walls were a little thin and noise travelled. Had to plan for your time in the shower if you were on a deadline. Bed was comfortable. Loved the location even with the University bridge down for maintenance you could walk along the river and into the downtown.
I was in Saskatoon for a vet school interview and stayed at Netty's nest. I really enjoyed my stay! The lodging is quaint and comfortable. Its almost directly across from the University and it's easy to catch busses downtown. The staff were really helpful and it was great to have access to a fridge/freezer and kitchen sink.
