One of the best hotels in Saskatoon good location, rooms are clean spacious, easy check in and check out, good customer service and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. I will definitely recommend this Hotel!
I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a Kuerig coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board, and a flat screen TV. The only thing I would have liked was a safe in the room. The bathroom was a decent size and had the essentials. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and a nice seating area. The business centre is also in the lobby and requires a room key to gain access. In the morning they have a small table set up beside the ATM machine with coffee and tea. After they have flavoured water. In the evening they have a container at reception with cookies. Just beside reception is a small convenience area with a number of items for sale. There is a restaurant and lounge also accessible from the lobby area. There are a number of good restaurants a short walk away. There is a mall right across from the hotel. The hotel has a pool which is larger than most hotel pools. There is an exterior area that guests can access in the summer which is just off the pool. There is a small fitness centre beside the pool. They had a table set up last night with sandwiches and pickles as the restaurant was closed for the staff Christmas party. There are a few things that show there may be a need for some updating. The bathtub in my room had chips out and the drain stopper was broken. Maintenance attended and said the room would have to be shut down to fix the drain. I did not change rooms as he was able to just pop out the stopper so I would not have water over my ankles when I showered.
If the hotel offers underground parking and we pay an extra-charge for that it should be located at the hotel not crossing a whole street to the Mall and without consideration about the schedule of the mall and the itinerary of the guests.
First time in Saskatoon. Great hotel, location, breakfast buffet with fresh omelettes, quiet floors, Starbucks counter in lobby, basic grocery items available at reception such as milk, juices, cereals. Microwave and mini fridge in the rooms. And major bonus...you can open a window in the hotel room.
Nothing really wrong with the hotel, but nothing great about it either. Internet is slow and you will remember your room number after entering it 9 times a day to stay connected to the wifi. Big TVs with bad reception and all permanently set to stretch mode. So there's that. Mediocre would also describe the meals and conference facilities.
Hotel is in a great location, good value compared to other comparable downtown hôtels, clean, comfortable with convenient services for travellers. Very nice pool which is open late, and next to the gym for a full workout. Restaurant/lounge isn't all that family friendly, but you can order from the menu in the very pleasant lobby.
I have stayed here a number of times over the years and while it is not my #1 choice when I come to town I do like the hotel. Usually get one of the suites which I really like the layout of and they are very comfortable, quiet and spacious. Front desk staff is usually very helpful and friendly as is the lounge staff. Negatives: parking. I know there is a $15 charge for parking and I don't have a problem with that, I do however have a problem when there is no parking to be found and I end up paying again to park on the street and then having to move my car again later back to the lot. This happened twice the last visit and almost always happens at least once when I am here. I know they don't run the lot but can you not if you are charging a fee at least have some dedicated spots for hotel guests? Other thing that was not so great is the food, average at best and one meal I sent back after 2 bites, but the server was good and discounted my meal and looked after me however the lounge will be for drinks only in the future. Better options and many of them within walking distance. Positives are the pool and exercise room which are very good, location cannot be beat, good and helpful staff. One other thing I have noted others comment on is the DMP fee. I know they and other hotels charge this and normally don't have a problem with it, but be aware that this is the ONLY hotel I have stayed at that charges it and then on top of it adds GST and PST to the fee. Same trip I stayed at a Hilton property in Regina and was charged just the fee. Seems like a petty money grab to me. I will stay here again, am in town every month and would stay every time if the parking issue would be better, as it is I probably will only stay on shorter trips in the summer time.
Stayed for a conference in the cold of winter. Lobby and staff were very welcoming. The hotel was clean and staff were very accommodating on both checking in and out. Conference rooms exceeded my expectations with both seating and sound. I would recommend this hotel for large group conferences
The front desk representative did not try to help with tips to get around the city, which certainly falls short in expectations for a hotel that is supposedly of such high level. Also, they sneak a DMP on the checkout invoice and do not tell you, hopping you will not notice and will pay this fee that is not mandatory and should not be put there without your consent.
Clean rooms, excellent service, lots of local amenities nearby. The young gentleman who checked me in (he had a beard and looked very young) was very welcoming, professional and helpful. Room was quiet and bed comfortable. Starbucks in downstairs lobby pretty sweet too. Great hotel-highly recommend.
