The location is great, walking distance to the famous park and the shopping district. Additionally, there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and other stores nearby. The staff is friendly and professional. It is kind of historic building but very nice and comfortable to stay.

Nice old English style hotel in the city, well located. Quiet. Nice spacious room with the amenities but the could leave bottled water in the room. Modern equipped. Don’t think you could go wrong here.

This time in Sapporo, we stayed at the Hotel Monterey 4 minutes walk from south exit of Sapporo Station. We had a delux twin room for approximately HK$2,000 per night. It was very spacious. The best thing about it was the room had two toilets and makeup area. Super convenient for two people occupying the room. Almost like two connected rooms without a wall. Like most Monterey Hotel, it has an outdoor sitting area with flowers and plants. Very pleasant. It is often used for wedding ceremonies. Must point out that the hotel has limited service and the only restaurant there closes at 9 pm

Hotel is located within 5 mins walk from the Sapporo Station and there is a 7-11 within 2 mins. For those driving, car park is not free. Breakfast is decent and rooms are spacious. For those who rent a car from Toyota, this is one of the best hotel for you as there is a return point just beside this hotel. This is one of my key reason to stay in this hotel too. Overall good value for money.

I slept three bed room august 9to12. During i sleeping i feel something wiered but i can't find why and then Last night I found onigili expired at june 22. if i can't find it i'm sure that food stil stay under the bed. Im strongly recomend do not stay this hotel if you don't want sleep with food trash

I stayed in the hotel last year, so sorry for the late review. Late as it may have been, this review still resonates with the fond memories of my stay in Hokkaido Autumn 2016. Weary travelers we were, so a speedy check in was such a delight. The rooms were very clean, as what's expected of Japanese hotels. The amenities were basic but not wanting of anything else. I guess I'm easy to please. It's a European-themed hotel. A tad spooky initially but it grew on me. (I might be a spooky type myself! Lol) But it was very cozy and it was the kind of place you feel like going home to after a busy day. The breakfast was more than what I expected and I don't recall ever complaining about the spread or anything about this hotel. The staff was very friendly and focused on customer service. There's a nearby department store/s so evening shopping can be satisfied. I'll definitely go back to this hotel in my future trips to Japan.

This hotel has an interesting traditional European feel, with the decorations emanating an atmosphere of the old days, from the settings of the indoor garden, the lift with the mechanical floor indicator, to the room itself. We had booked the Deluxe Twin which got poster beds and a bathroom with wall tiles. It is fairly close to the JR Sapporo station, around 10 minutes by walk, and so it is convenient to go around the city centre, where a lot of restaurants and department stores are located. The buffet breakfast is decent, but because the hotel is quite popular and we came here during summer peak season so it is busy. The food is decent but the place is just too crowded for me. My best experience came from the sleeping quality. The overall ambiance of the room is very comforting, with both the pillow and bed offering me a great relaxing night of good sleep. This is wonderful as I would need to drive a long way on the next day to Furano.

Nice hotel, clean rooms, convenient lo ated. Head towards the east gate towards JR Tower, exit station, turn left into encled.walkway. GAP store will be on left and bus terminal on right. Exit and you will see Hotel Monterey across parking lot. Decor is vintage. Good ramen restaurant located at corner across 7-11 store.

Stayed here in July and would recommend this hotel. The train into Sapporo passes by the Monterrey, and it's relaxing to know where the hotel is located and how close it is to the station. The staff at reception were professional, but welcoming, and provided helpful answers to my questions on the level area. . The room was larger than I have come to expect in Japan. Viking breakfast is just the thing to set you up for the day. Overall a very pleasant stay and excellent value for money.

I would like to let you know we had an unpleasant experience with the front desk staff. We didn’t expect to be treated like VIP customers. But the front desk staff were rude. My partner and I didn’t enjoy our experience.
