Boutique hotel with friendly staff. Walking distance to Kamari beach. Mix up when we arrived where we were given a lower grade room than we had paid for but this was swiftly rectified. Breakfast was ok nothing special . Pizzas were tasty. Bar staff friendly and made good sangria. Good location for relaxation without caldera prices .

My family & I stayed at this hotel in August. We loved our time here. The rooms and hotel are very clean. The staff are wonderful and can not do enough for you. The location is really great too. Quiet setting but only a minute walk from main Kamari Beach and restaurants. Highly recommended and we look forward to booking here again.

We booked a family room for five and an outdoor hot tub. We really had a great time. Everything was very nice, the staff could not have been friendlier and breakfast was new & nice everyday. The location is very good, not right on the beach, but a short walk (5 minutes tops) to the beach. Close to the airport. Can recommend with confidence. I would definitely rent a car on Santorini. Furthest point away from here is 30 minutes.....rentals are cheap and parking around the island is free. No way I would go for a bus or taxi here. No nav unit needed, as the roads are not marked so well and your phone will do fine. The beaches on the island are a bit rocky, so would recommend a pair of water shoes, but you can also buy the here cheap (€7). Great place, friendly people and good breakfast, close to the beach. What else do you need?

Hard to locate first, but actually 5 minutes from the beach. The inner courtyard is quite and relaxing around the swimming pool. Leaving the hotel, you are in a little street covered with restaurants and can enjoy the beach (as long as you pay for your transat!). No restaurant, but very very nice staff, very dedicated, and always there to help fo whatever service you request. The breakfast was average. Alas, customers tend to put their towel to book their transat, so that you just do not have anyone left when you arrive at 11.00 am! JUST: they sell what they call "suites", which are no real suites, the Junior one was just a room with 4 beds. Luckily, there was a mistake in the room allocation and we stayed there 9 nights in a so-called Business suite, but we had to move out the last night! So... the quality/price ratio is not the best one ($300 for a single room is quite expensive)...

From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were greeting by such lovely staff and treated with a smile. We don’t drink so refused the welcome drinks but then they bought some fresh juice to our room as complimentary to make up for it. The girls at the reception desk (Flora & Maria) always greeted us with a smile and nothing was too much for them. They would always go out their way. The hotel was spotless and quiet. We had the luxury duplex which was a lovely little room with a hot tub on the terrace!! The views in the morning were breath taking. And going to see the sunrise every morning at Kamari beach was breathtaking. The beach is clean and only a short walk away. The hotel is ideal location as there was a supermarket in the same street and taverns and little souvenir shops along the promenade. We used the local buses to get around and also hired the quad bikes one day to explore the island. The Moto shop across from the hotel were great and gave us a good deal for the quads. Definitely try the boat tour to the volcano island as it is well worth the money. This was arranged for us by Flora at the hotel and was no hassle at all. The coach came and got us from our hotel and dropped us back. A trip to oia and fira is also a must as you can see the sunset in all its glorie. The cable cars didn’t seem worth the money so we didn’t try that. While on the quads we visited Perissa which has a beautiful beach and definitely not to be missed. We also visited the red sand beach but that didn’t live up to its expectation. At one point we got lost when on the quads and ended up at the top of this mount where we had panoramic views of the island! If you can find that, then you will be in for a treat. Don’t ask me how we got there tho! ;) definitely a holiday never to be forgotten. I would say though it isn’t really child friendly due to the steep hills and probably more suited for adults. I look forward to returning again to the Tamarix del Mar 😊

We weren't sure if Kamari was the best place to stay but it was and so was the hotel. The Tamarix is perfectly situated in Kamari near to all the restaurants and shops as well as the bus stop. When you step inside it is a haven of tranquillity with a lovely setting and very nice clean rooms. The kitchenette and fridge was a welcome addition for drinks etc and the staff were wonderful. They were helpful and friendly which included booking car hire, recommending restaurants in Imerovigli and making reservations. We visited most of the main places on the island by both car and bus and although Oia and Imerovigli were lovely the former in particular was very busy and it was nice to leave and come back somewhere quieter and less pretentious. Having said that we had two meals in both places with wonderful views watching the sunset and with excellent but pricey food. You need to be fairly fit in Oia, Thira and Imerovigli as there are a lot of narrow steps and no handrails but the views are worth it.

Nice hotel, nice friendly staff.rooms very clean beds changed every day. Best bit is it has small kitchen with cooker and fridge, we were able to make snacks, and have cold wine and water at all times. Plenty of sunbeds and towels Highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel

Was in Kamara Santorini September 2017 for my sons weeding we stayed at the Tamarix Del Mare Spar hotel. There was a party of 40 plus 6 children, which stayed at various places on the island, but on most days congregated at our hotel. I could not fault the staff at the hotel from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. They were so helpful with any problems we had and helped us out a lot. As most people do, we tried various tavernas and restaurants but the best one we came across was the Meli & Thymari, which was just a stone’s throw from our hotel. The service was excellent and you could not fault the food, the chicken souvlaki was the best, as for grandmother’s meat balls? You could not beat them. From the moment you enter the restaurant to the moment you leave they look after you. MOTO STAR KAMARA SANTORINI After reading so many bad things about car hire I was a bit worried about hiring one. As there was a car hire right across from our hotel I popped in to see what they had on offer. The lady asked what I wanted and I told her I need it for 10 days, she told me to come back and she would do me a good deal as she was dealing with someone at the time. So as there was a few car hire places around I tried them but none of them seemed interested. So I went back to the 1st one I went into which was called Moto Star I got the car for £35 euros per day, they asked if I wanted to pay cash which I was surprised at but I paid on my credit card. I also got a boost seat for my granddaughter and my son put on the car insurance so he could drive it at no extra cost. There was a few marks on the car which I pointed out to them but they just smiled and said don’t worry, which was easy for them to say. I was a bit apprehensive when it came to returning it, but once again I just handed them the keys they just smiled and said thank you and did not even bother looking round the car. So if you’re staying in Kamara and need to hire a car I would definitely recommend Moto Star car hire, and as for a good meal you would be hard pressed to find a better restaurants than Meli & Thymari. This was the 2nd time we visited Santorini the 1st time was in 2007 and we stayed in Perissa, hopefully we will be planning to visit again SOON!

Service wunschlos perfekt - Service perfect wantless täglich gereinigte schöne große Zimmer - daily cleaned nice wide rooms in Strandnähe gut platzierte Häuser - near the beach well-structured freundliches und höfliches Personal - very polite and kind people beste Griechenlanderfahrung seit 1979 - the best in greece since 1979 sehr empfehlenswert - very recommendable

To say that I was more than pleased with my stay at the Tamarix del Mar Suites would still be an understatement. The staff at this hotel are the friendliest, most polite people I have ever encountered, doing whatever they can in their power to make your stay easy, convenient and most importantly enjoyable. My mother and I shared a spacious room equipped with living room, TV, king-size bed, kitchenette, and a bathroom with jets in the bathtub. Overwhelming large and very comfortable. We were on the first floor that lead straight to the pool. It was WONDERFUL. Breakfast was very tasty with a widespread of options. It is slightly out of the way from the main town of Fira and Oia, but nonetheless, we made it work and I'd definitely stay here again.
