We stayed here for two nights loved the hotel. The room was clean spacious with magnificent view, the room also came with buffet breakfast which was good. The spa was used by my son and he was impressed. The hotel is in a quiet street close to the beach. At the front desk we met a very professional and a courteous young man who’s girl friend works in the library of the hotel. He is an asset to the hotel very helpful his recommendation on what to do was quite helpful. On the arrival day he took us around to show us the property., he made us feel welcome. There are four swimming pool a tennis court and a fitness room. The hotel does offer a private parking. The hotel shuttle does not drive you around but for 10 Euros it will take you to the airport. Most likely I will come back to this hotel and stay ❤️😘

Stayed here for a family wedding in June, its is a lovely hotel in good location set back from the main beach area which we liked as meant it was quiet. The hotel gave our party us rooms together as requested, we had ground floor rooms with a small terrace looking out onto the pool which was perfect for an early morning swim or a hour before breakfast with a book. The rooms were spacious and clean and the air con worked well, bathroom had a walk in shower an there were plenty of toiletries and fresh towels daily, breakfast was varied and plentiful, the staff were polite and professional, the gardens and pool area were well kept...not a lot to fault! We had a fab holiday in Santorini and the wedding we attended was amazing!!

Stayed here for week - excellent. Great staff, all friendly and helpful. Room was large and well equipped and the whole Hotel is spotless. Breakfast buffet is excellent. So many Little pools and places to relax in the Hotel. Kamari itself has a great range of tavernas and do walk up to ancient thira!

I spent 2 weeks in this remarkable resort... The place honestly is amazing... The room was very clean and cozy with an incredible view... The service was excellent and everybody was willing to help me... I hope to have again the opportunity to visit this place and meet again all these friendly people....

Stayed at the Kastelli hotel for 1 week , got back yesterday . What an amazing hotel. Absolutely beautiful, the attention to detail is fabulous. The staff cannot do enough for you . We were upgraded to a deluxe junior suite from a junior suite and words cannot describe how beautiful the room & view were. There was no kettle in the room but we only asked at reception and one was bought up straight away. 5 star service & surroundings . Will definitely go back but a few weeks earlier in the year as a lot of shops & tavernas were closing for the season and the hotel didn’t have a fully stocked bar. Thank you to the staff of Kastelli for an amazing holiday😊

We read reviews and filter the worst few out, what's left is fairly accurate. So I am trying not to be too harsh, but it isn't easy. If you get rooms by the tennis court on the left, you will be woken at dawn by about half a dozen Cockerels crowing like they have seen Colonel Sanders. They are in the patch of ground over the boundary, don't think they will stop when sun comes up - they go on all day. I did complain but nothing can be done, just use ear plugs. Kamari has great street vendors selling figs, bananas, apricots, oranges, etc.......but don't expect fresh fruit at breakfast there is just the odd bit of water melon and some grapes. Instead you get fruit out of a can with the bits of glace cherry you got in the 70s at grandmas. Once again we did mention it to staff but got a puzzled look as if to say "but Brits don't eat fresh fruit". The staff were OK, but no-one seemed in charge, and reception staff never ventured out of their bunker...is there a manager? Even when we brought our own natural yoghurt and fruit in, the shame didn't faze them. Coffee was inconsistent and if you order a Latte they charge you 4 euros each, not what you expect for 5 stars. The bread is very good ! There are 4 pools and they could make more money by selling drinks but staff are not bothered by venturing from the main pool. At other 5 star hotels there have been ice cold water buckets for drinking provided, not here. On the plus, its a nice looking hotel with a great layout and village feel, there are plenty of towels, pools, and high standard sun beds. Also a stones throw from the beach and its many bars and tavernas.Unfortunately this is Santorini so they don't have to bother making an effort. if this was 50 or 60 rooms it would be about right but its 120 I think so its a package job - Thompson I think, although I booked independantly

A clean, superior hotel, with the most friendly staff I have ever come across. Nothing was ever a problem and they went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasurable as they could. Not just 1 pool but 4, so plenty of sun loungers for everyone. We upgraded to a junior suite, which did not disappoint. We had a big bedroom and living area with a beautiful bathroom and powerful shower. And not only that our garden had its own private pool that we shared with one other room. The breakfast was amazing. A full continental buffet including hot and cold food, a selection of beverages and fruit. The lunch and evening menu was both delicious and not too pricy. I would definitely return to this hotel I can't find 1 fault.

Having booked last minute we were concerned that we would not get a good room and the rooms were pricey. However pleasantly surprised to get a small family room (for just the 2 of us), which was very spacious for 2. The room was clean, very nicely decorated and maintained. Only issue was the drain smell now and again which is apparently an issue for the island. The room had 2 small balconies and a large terrace. There were 3 small pools and 1 large, only issue being that late summer, the shade appeared in the afternoon around 3 of the pools. Grounds, pools, eating areas were all immaculate and had luxury feel. Location was very good. Set back a minute or 2 from the main promenade meant quiet hotel, but with all the bars and restaurants very very close. Promenade was full of eating places, some shops and bars - we were spoil for choice! We did not eat evening meals at hotel, just breakfast which had enough choice. I would recommend.

The Kastelli has been well covered by reviews in the past, including my own last year! However, I still feel I should give credit where credit’s due, so here’s a wee update! Firstly, the resort of Kamari just suits us. The hotels aren’t super-expensive as I think they can be in the resorts of Fira, Oia and Imerovigli on the west side of the island. Stay in Kamari, and it’s easy to jump on a bus to the capital of Fira for €1.80. You can then explore the island by catching buses to other resorts / place of interest. (All journeys seem to be around €1.80/ €2). Kamari has a lovely traffic free prom, with a long (pebbly / dark sand) beach, plenty of choice of bars and restaurants, all just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Not raucous, but plenty going on. Then the Kastelli is just our kind of hotel. We tend to go for 4/5* hotels, of varying sizes, but we do like good service, good food, a pool, and a good standard of maintenance / decor. All boxes ticked here. (Just remember this is Greece… 5* here is great, but don’t expect UK/ Dubai 5* standards! And do be prepared to laugh off any “quirks”!) We only planned to visit Santorini once, because we like to visit new places each year. But when we stayed at the Kastelli last year, we both liked it so much, and felt so welcome, that we pretty much decided there and then that we would return. So, was it as good this year? YES! We were literally welcomed back with hugs from the staff we met last year. Thank you to Gregory, Baze, Alex, and the rest of the team for the laughs we have shared, and their ever cheerful, genuine and excellent service. Truly a credit to the hotel. [Baze, we still laugh at those “unusual” menu requests! ;o) Gregory, we wonder if you’re still practicing your new “whistle”!] As last year, we emailed the hotel before we left home and asked if they would provide a transfer from the airport when we arrived. No problem - the driver was there to meet us, and 10 mins later we were checking in at the hotel! The hotel has 4 pools, well-tended grounds, a lovely restaurant, a library (handy for book swaps!), spa, gym & tennis court. The hotel has 60 rooms, and our room on the 3rd floor had a balcony with views over the pool and out to the sea beyond. Our room was freshly decorated, very clean, with quiet AC, mini bar, TV, a nice shower-room, complimentary toiletries etc. The sun loungers are comfy, and towels are provided. We never had a problem getting a couple of sun-beds, whether by the main pool or one of the smaller pools. The wi-fi reception can be a little erratic across the resort, but seems better outdoors than indoors! Breakfast is buffet style - a lovely choice of fruit, cereals, breads, pastries, croissants, cheese, cold meats, cooked breakfast items etc. Fresh juices, and sparkling wine if you wish! The staff have a knack of knowing exactly when your tea / coffee needs topped up too! We like to try different restaurants in the area for our evening meal, but we did use the hotel restaurant twice when they had some live music playing. Service and food excellent. [Our fave restaurants on the prom are Sabbia Nera, Vinsanto and Vassilikos.] Finally, a few ideas for things to do: - Relax! - Watch a film at the open-air cinema in Kamari. - Stroll through the lanes of Fira to enjoy the views / shops. (Beware… cruise-ship day-trippers can add to the population!) - Walk from Fira to Oia, or vice versa. The views are simply stunning… well worth it. (7 miles approx, takes around 3½ hours, with photo stops! Trainers are a must.) - Visit the ancient ruins at Akrotiri and/or Ancient Thera. - Book a Wine Tour with amazing-santorini.com. Small groups (ours had 10), and you visit 2 or 3 vineyards to learn about wine-making on the island, and sample plenty too! Informative and great fun. SUMMARY: Still love the Kastelli Resort, hope you do too. Enjoy.

First part of our honeymoon in this beautiful place. Warm friendly welcome from the staff at reception, taken to our room after a short guide round the hotel showing all the main parts of the hotel. Our room was clean and tidy, perfect size with a lovely roof terrace with a great view of the sea. There is plenty of choice for pools, also with 5 minute walk to the beach. Our room was kept clean & tidy when we wanted. The staff work so hard, and are always so welcoming and kind towards us as guests. The food is always fresh and tasty for breakfast. We had lunch a few time and always was consistent & delicious! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, will recommend to anyone wishing to stay in Santorini for the beach side. We'd also love to return if possible in the future!
