The San Antonio suites were pure luxury, completely isolated from the rest of the touristy island. If you are looking for a quiet, luxury, relaxing stay with beautiful views, this is your hotel, if you want to be in a city centre near to bars and restaurants this is not your hotel. There are only a few rooms so never that busy, we chose to upgrade to a premium room, not the absolute best but maybe the second best which we felt was well worth it as we had a massive, very private room with its own hot tub and sun terrace with loungers. Whereas the standard rooms were much smaller and located by the pool and not very private (privacy is very important to us). There is nothing bad to say about the room or the service, everything was 5 star. Breakfast was lovely and although pricy the restaurant was also nice. We also went to the spa which was really good. My only one small complaint would be the fact that there were not enough sun loungers for the pool area which meant a few selfish people would put towels down on the best loungers first thing in morning, even if they weren't using them which was really annoying. Don't expect to have to fight for a lounger at this kind of luxury hotel.... would be good if hotel found a solution to this. Other than that no complaints and would stay here again, it was nicer than any other hotels we saw on our visit and much more private. Top tip - hire a car as you need to drive everywhere.
This is by far one of the best hotels on the island. It is situated in between the bustling towns of Fira and Oia, which offers privacy, romance, and seclusion, but is in close enough proximity, where you don't feel isolated and remote. The towns on either side are easily accessible by walking along the beautiful trail, which offer more spectacular views of the sea and caldera or the hotel will promptly arrange transportation for those who choose not to walk. One of the many features of this hotel that was lovely and unique is the fact that the populated trail does not run directly in front of it, so not only is there nothing obstructing the gorgeous views, but there is not a constant stream of people walking by. The hotel staff were all amazing and I have never seen more gorgeous rooms. Our every request was accommodated with a smile and graciousness, Despite going in early June, which is not high season, the traffic and crowds of people were overwhelming and we were so greatful to have our beautiful retreat to escape to. We cannot say enough good things about this hotel and would like to thank Santorini Dave's blog for steering us in the right direction.
This hotel was perfect in its service, quality and location. We were there towards the very end of the season, so the hotel was not full all the time. Adults only, except one very cute baby. The staff was great, the food was good, especially the breakfast buffet which was included in the price of the room. Our room, I think a junior suite??, was large, comfortable and had a great balcony with a view over the Santorini Caldera. You did need to bus, taxi - or walk - to the closest villages - Ioa or Imerovigli.
we went on a wedding party end of september to Santorini and stayed at the San Antonio suites: very nice location, excellent staff, fantastic view from the terrasse-restaurant... it is expensive but worth. The island was still very busy and it might be less paradisiac i during the holidays... last point: they don't accept children below 12
If your budget allows, book this hotel. We were initially nervous about the location. It's by itself, between Oia and Fira. The location give the hotel privacy and serenity. It also makes it easy to split up the popular hike between Oia and Fira. Fira and Oia are beautiful but crowded. We prefer the peaceful location of San Antonio. The property is spotless. The views are perfect. The sunset is visible from the southern half of the property. The included breakfast is high quality and has good variety. The staff is friendly and speaks perfect English. We rented a car during our visit. Parking was not a problem in October. Having a car make it easy to venture out. I would definitely rent a car again. The only negative is the WiFi. We had trouble staying connected and the speed was slow.
We stayed 20th -27th October and San Antonio is almost perfect. It is situated between Oia and Fira and is very quiet. The walks to Fira and to Oia are spectacular over the mountain and we did these walks several times during our stay. Oia is quieter than Fira and Fira can get very busy when the cruise ships come in. The staff at San Antonio do their very best to make your stay the best it can be. Food is of good quality and there is a good selection both at breakfast and the other meals during the day. Only a slight disappointment and the reason why they have lost a point is that during our stay some children were staying and as we had specifically only looked at adult only hotels we found this most confusing. We were given a bottle of wine for the inconvenience and as I do not drink alcohol my husband enjoyed that but it didn't really make up for the fact that we expected it to be child free. Also be aware that there is only a pod coffee machine in the room and as with most hotels on Santorini you will be charged for every pod you use. In summary the hotel is beautifully clean. The rooms are spacious. The views are spectacular and the staff practically perfect.
This is a very very nice place to stay. From the first moment we arrived until we left the service was excellent. All the staff are excellent attentive polite and generally really nice people. Rooms were nicely decorated clean and tidy fresh with ample room. The breakfast was excellent lots of choice well presented served from 8-11 so no pressure to get up on holiday. The restaurant was also very good in evenings but choice was limited . The position of the hotel sits approximately between Oia and Thira so unless you get a taxi or car you are slightly isolated. Indeed if you decided not to venture out you could use lunch time menu and stay on site. For me the position was not a problem as we found Oia and Thira to be very busy with the arrival of the cruise ships. To be honest I'm really struggling to find a negative with San Antonio if I were to be really picky it would be a shower curtain in bathroom as the shower does spray everywhere that is really it. On the whole we had a fantastic holiday we would definitely recommend San Antonio thank you to everybody who made it so 👍
The two best things about this hotel is 1) the view..amazing 2) friendly staff that understands absolutely everything in english 3)good cuisine Rooms are quite nice and clean howevever the jaccuzzi didn't work on our arrival and couldn't be fixed during the whole stay and one big dissapointment was and this is why one point has been taken off - the pool isn't heated...so FREEZING!! Impossible to swim (only one or two VERY muscular and sporty people actually managed to get in it) We chose the hotel because of the swimming pool so this was really really a shame..Also the taxi driver of the hotel was not very nice. He didn't really care where he was taking us and dropped us off far from the restaurant and we got lost. He told us to go to the right and the restaurant was to the left and we walked for ages to find it..He could have looked on a map if he wasn't quite sure where the restaurant was..He also put his football match on the radio and didn't ask if we were ok on this. But apart from these major 2 problems I would recommend the hotel if they have started heating the pool now and changed driver
My husband and I stayed four nights at this beautiful hotel in a sea view suite with outdoor jacuzzi and private terrace overlooking the sea. The room was beautiful and very well equipped not to mention spotlessly cleaned every day. Breakfast is superb and offers a wide range and selection. The views from this hotel are exceptional. Wifi is practically non existent, which is the only downside. The location is very isolated so it may not suit everyone and taxis on the island are expensive. We loved every minute and the staff are fantastic.
I was definitely skeptical about staying in a smaller hotel vs our typical SPG or Marriott property, but we are sure glad we chose not to use our points and opted to stay at the San Antonio. My wife and I both absolutely loved this hotel!!! Everything about this place is wonderful, from the greeting we received from the moment we stepped into the property, to our room, to the room service, to the restaurant, and to the view, EVERYTHING was just excellent!!! We stayed in the honeymoon suite towards the end of the property, the views from this room are unreal, and the sunset is perfect, we dined outside on our patio and watched the sunset one night, I would highly recommend. Breakfast buffet is plentiful and the fresh juices are very tasty. We had dinner at the Cliffside restaurant and it was very tasty along with unique menu options. If you are a seasoned traveler, this hotel will exceed your expeditions and the staff will ensure you have a happy and memorable stay. See photos for the proof :)
