This was a great hotel located on Kamari beach. Kamari beach is a black beach with large pebbles so it's a bit difficult to access the water, but the hotel offers free sun beds. The hotel is traditional Greek style, with a large pool at the front nearest the beach. The rooms we had was very large with an upstairs "loft" with a balcony and extra beds. Bathroom was decent with a "rain" shower head. There were however no decent windows to let any light in or see out of and the hotel was noisy at night as the majority of rooms face a courtyard which echoes with voices at night. The walls are paper thin, which is something to be aware of. The breakfast was good, with cooked food and cereal available. The pool bar was excellent value, delicious moussaka and fruit smoothies. It's pretty much absolute beachfront with Sea views from the pool and pool bar.
We found this hotel absolutely amazing it is a big hotel but has such a homey feeling the staff are amazing especially the gentleman at reception he was extremely helpful and a total live wire the facilities are well maintained and there are plenty of things to do along the sand strip. Totally worth it
We've had a fantastic holiday here - our first visit to Greece. From the minute we arrived we were impressed with the hotel - the swimming pool area and grounds are beautiful, situated pretty much on the beach front. Our room was small and basic but had everything we needed with a sweet balcony that made the most of the sun and the staff at the hotel were wonderful - nothing was too much trouble for them, they were helpful, polite and friendly. Look forward to coming back
The hotel and resort have just opened for the season. It's fairly quiet, which is great. No waiting around for service, and everyone is eager to please. Good points, fabulous location, an abundance of sea front restaurants and bars, hotel is spotless, food good, service great, a real friendly hotel and staff. Classy yet homely, a nice mix. Not so good points, small room, tiny wardrobe, 2 drawers, and that's about it for trying to organise clothes....should have brought less, which, as the weather is so far fabulous, a few bikinis, shirts, shorts and dresses would have done nicely for the 2 of us for 2 weeks. Beach in Kamari is black Rock and sand, mostly rocks, bring shoes, it's hell to walk on , free beach beds on beach for hotel guests, which is nice. If you like a cosmopolitan atmosphere, this is a great place to relax in....would recommend.
The Kamari Beach Hotel is perfectly situated on the sea front in Kamari Beach, Santorini. It's a 3 star hotel with 5 star super friendly service. The hotel is spotlessly clean albeit basic. There is a lovely internal courtyard and our room (room 6) overlooked it, to me every time I sat on the balcony I had a perfect "mama Mia" moment. Don't be put off on arrival, as you enter through the back of the hotel. The only reason for this is that the front of the hotel in s on a pedestrianised promenade - that's how close you are to the beach. There are steps everywhere so it can be a little difficult for elderly or infirm to get about, but the staff are super helpful with suitcases etc. Yannis and Nick are amazing and offer advice and help about most things you might need. We visited last May and due to personal circumstances this is the first opportunity I have had to write this review, but better late than never. The Hotel has a private section of the beach for guests with complimentary loungers and umbrellas and a member of staff on hand to take orders for drinks and snacks. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the resort and it has shops of all types to leisurely stroll around. I am excited to say that we are going back in June this year and very much looking forward to it.
I don't really know where to start... we had the most fantastic holiday! We stayed in June last year, the hotel is modern and vibrant. The rooms are one of the best we have stayed in in Greece, if you've traveled around Greece, you'll know what i mean! All the staff were so friendly and helpful, in fact they bent over backwards to make all the guests stay a memorable one. Great pool, great breakfast and cleanliness is second to none. The hotel is right in the heart or Kamari with the beach, taverna's and bars a stone throw away. Easy use of public transport to get around the island too. All in all, i couldn't recommend this hotel enough for an affordable way to visit one of the most stunning islands we have ever visited.
Stayed here for 1 week in June. We had never been to Santorini and glad we chose Kamari and this hotel. It is right on the beachfront and you literally just step out to all of the restaurants and bars. The rooms are basic but this is normal in Greece, they had everything we needed, we had a garden view which was fine for us but you can pay extra for a Sea view if you prefer, the hotel pool was fantastic and the biggest in Kamari I believe. We walked past other hotels on the front and ours was definitely the best. We ate outside next to the pool from the hotel bar for lunch a couple of days, food was great and all fresh- big portions. You can also get drinks for by the pool- lovely fresh orange juice. Breakfast was included in the hotel which was fine to start you off for the day, most days we went out to explore the island, the public transport is so easy and there is a bus stop just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, you can get to Oia from here to watch the famous sunsets for around 1euro 50 , you will have to change in Thira at the bus station but this was easy. There are some lovely restaurants in Kamari - Atmosphere was a personal favourite which was literally a 1 minute walk from the hotel , there is also a gyros place 2 minutes from the hotel called Jimmy's Souvlaki, we went here for lunch nearly every day, there is an outside area to sit facing the beach which was lovely, cheap and great tasting food. There is a bar called Atmosphere lounge where we went most nights- fantastic. One day I hope to visit Santorini again and we would definitley choose Kamari and this hotel again.
Great staff excellent service we felt like in heaven!!!!Our greetings to all staff !we stayed 2 gorgeous weeks we have best memories from our life!!!Bogdanis and Mios Konstantinos 3 May-17 May 3016......we love Greece because we are Greeks special Santorini...a pice of our heart still there...God please bless GREECE!!!
The clerk at the front desk was very helpful when we had trouble getting the rooms we were supposed to get.He also steered us to a reputable car rental that delivered to the hotel. It has a beautiful pool with great poolside service and is right on the promenade where all the restaurants are .The great beach is just past the restaurants. We were warned by the taxi driver that picked us up at the ferry, not to drive because of the bad drivers from some countries, not the case, we rented a car and had no problems touring the island.
Stayed here back in May! We visited Santorini to view our wedding venue for 2018. The hotel is in the perfect place, right on the beach and in the middle of the bars and shops. The beach is also very clean! The hotel is spotless and very well looked after. The pool and gardens are beautifully kept. The staff are so friendly and always willing to help. Whilst in Santorini we recommend visiting the islands only animal shelter, which is run by a wonderful lady. We visited twice and took lots of treats and food for the dogs. Also kept there are rescued working donkeys used in Oia and Fira and two little pigs! We took some of the dogs for a walk and helped with the daily routine of feeding and cleaning. We loved it, best part of our holiday!! We also ended up adopting one of the dogs and bringing her home with us!! We also recommend visiting Oia and Fira for the stunning views, however beware of the poor working donkeys, who are horrifically treated, it is very upsetting and made me want to leave. Definitely visit the open air cinema, which is only about a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
