We have just left the Grace Santorini following an amazing 7 day holiday. The setting is quite simply breathtaking with stunning scenery and surroundings. We stayed in a deluxe room with plunge pool which was beautiful, although be aware that these rooms do not necessarily include loungers. The rooms are very spacious with great storage and fantastic bathrooms! On our first night, we were lucky enough to experience the annual firework display of the volcanic eruption! This was wonderful and clearly widely celebrated across the island. We ate in the hotel where they had a tasting menu designed for this occasion. Having eaten in several Michelin star restaurants, the meal did not come close to this level but the price significantly exceeded. Beautiful surroundings but sadly the food didn't live up to expectation. One of the biggest positives of our holiday has, without a doubt, been the amazing staff at the Grace. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly but absolute highlights were Ben and Babis on the breakfast service who were simply outstanding. The outlook with a glass (or two) of champagne in hand, accompanied by a 5 course breakfast, was only enhanced by genuinely friendly staff! The Santorini area is simply breathtaking with a new vista around every corner. Be prepared to walk distance and lots and lots of stairs but know that your efforts are very worthwhile when you get to the top! Our only complaint of our experience was the persistent use of drones around the hotel, particularly at sunset. The hotel hosted a wedding on our last evening which was unfortunate as the guests/photographer used a drone around the hotel and we found this incredibly intrusive. However, the hotel were responsive to our concerns and made efforts to stop it. They have assured us that they will not allow this in the future. The hotel advised they host only 3 weddings per year and our only other suggestion would be to inform the guests staying just below the champagne bar area in advance, as wedding participants looking over the balcony into our pool area, was not massively appreciated. All in all, this is a stunning hotel. The location is frankly unbeatable and the staff make you feel incredibly at home. We have had a really wonderful week of relaxation and would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for an unbeatable holiday experience.
3 night stay to celebrate our honeymoon! Here are the positive and negative things about this hotel: The positives * Okay, let's start with the obvious. This hotel is built along the top of a volcano crater with a breathtaking view into the caldera that is enough to make me weep with joy. That said, there are hundreds of hotels here with the same view, so let's move on... * The infinity pool. It brings the view to life! In our stay, we only spotted one or maybe two other pools that were anywhere even remotely close to the size of this pool in this area. This is without doubt the best pool here. * The breakfast...a five course champagne breakfast that changes everyday. I could try and describe to you how good the poached eggs on cauliflower pizza is, but frankly my vocabulary is not good enough. * The room. Very modern, very clean, very comfortable. I guess it is kind of semi sunk into the rock (I guess) as the room stayed remarkably cool in the blistering heat. Outstandingly good air con was installed however, if needed. * The staff. SO helpful. Above and beyond the call of duty. The negatives * ... there are none. Perfection? For us, this trip was perfection. Thank you Grace Santorini!
This was one of the best experiences that I have had. Whilst the property has a lot of steps to navigate as with most properties in Santorini, our suite was carved into the rock and overlooked the sea and the caldera. The sunset was magical. The welcome team were excellent at reception, our room was beautiful and full or Arivita organic products to savour. Each evening the turndown service came with a quote from a Greek God of mythology and with a trinket and today's special something. Breakfast was a five course tasting menu and changed daily, although you could practically ask for anything you wanted. the pool was an infinity pool and always had space for the guests. There was capacity for 48 guests and there were 60 staff members. Food quality was excellent and the service was faultless. If you want that extra special experience, stay here!
I have stayed at many hotels in my travels, some regarded as some of the best in the world, and the Grace hotel has far exceeded any hotel experience I have had. My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and were absolutely blown away by the Grace. First the location is the best on the island in regards to the view of the ocean and world famous caldera. For every moment you are there you are experiencing one of the most breath taking ocean views in the world. The staff and hospitality is absolutely the most world class I have ever experienced. The housekeeping and maintenance keep the place perfect looking, the waiters, attendance and concierge do not miss a moment to ensure your comfort and everyone always has a smile and a kind demeanor. The food is absolutely spectacular we had no idea how good the food was going to be and were beyond impressed by that. Really there is too much good to say to put in one review. They truly capture pure magic at this hotel. It is one of the more expensive hotels on the island but honestly I consider it an amazing value considering how perfect of an experience they provide you and also there are many things included like there is a spectacular five course breakfast (which is a new menu every day), little gifts every evening, plenty of water bottles, big bottles of toiletries in the room, etc. The bottom line is this hotel is the pinnacle of hospitality, they really put so much thought into the hotel and their guests needs, and I do not think I will find a finer hotel experience my life after this.
We stayed for 3 nights (too short!) at the Grace Santorini, in a junior suite and while we ogled the plunge pools in other rooms, we spent a lot of time at the pool which made up for the decision to not splurge on a plunge pool. The hotel staff is experienced and responsive. The breakfast every morning was delicious. While our room was near the footpath, we were not bothered by pedestrians at all. In fact, the only downside to our visit was not the responsibility of the hotel. The drones brought by brides and grooms to document their pictures, during sunset, which were a bit annoying. That said, if Grace Santorini could post a "no drones" sign anywhere near or around the property, it would be great.
We booked through booking.com but unfortunately our foreign card was not accepted and our reservation was automatically cancelled. Having emailed the hotel directly, the lack of assistance during the booking process meant we didn't get to stay at this hotel.
I have visied tbe Grace 4 years ago snd since that time it has had an upgrade in facilities. This is an expensive hotel but in my opinion it is very much wirth it. Great location, food, staff and wonderful rooms. You really have to go, particularly romantic for honeymoon too. I will be back again I'm sure. It is comfortable for a single person to feel at ease. Very quiet, just bliss.
We recently stayed at Grace Santorini for our anniversary. This was the ultimate hotel experience. From check-in to check-out with arguably the best pool on Santorini. Staff anticipated every need without being one bit intrusive. Wait Staff bring a bottle of iced water whenever you laid on a pool lounge and the breakfast was amazing. The hotel offers a shuttle to anywhere on the island with only an additional charge for the airport or Ammoudi Bay, this saved us on taxis. I highly recommend the early yoga class as a great way to start the day. We spent the afternoons poolside and whilst we brought books to read, we couldn't take our eyes off the amazing view from the pool. If Greece wasn't so far from Australia, we would return to Grace Santorini as often as possible and hope to rerun one day in the future. If you are considering booking Grace - press the button, you won't be disappointed.
The hotel is one of the most expensive of the island and you then expect the best... Forget it, there is still a lot missing to reach the level of a real luxury hotel and i have been to many of them!!! Aircon is noisy in the room, Hamman was not working, no real privacy in your terrasse for a VIP suite (just below the restaurant and breakfast place) and what is amazing you do not even have a do not disturb sign so the personnel is coming whenever they want to clean your room or bring water... One of last thing, the breakfast is sold by the hotel like an amazing experience. Sorry but there is nothing special, a 4 or 5 stars hotel in Paris or London will have a much better selection and food. Beside these disappointments, the view is great and the personnel is nice, no problem. My point is that the rates are too high for the overall services, would better pay less and get the same in another hotel in Santorini...
I wish I had read all the reviews before I booked then I would have found the drawback which we discovered when we arrived.....STAIRS. Not just a few but nearly 200 to get from the road to the room. Every day just from the room to the pool/restaurant is a workout. It is such a shame since in nearly all other respects the hotel is perfect. Stunning views of the cadera, fantastic staff, simple but well appointed rooms with great amenities. There is a 5 "course" set breakfast included but they will cook anything you wanted really and the quality was amazing. We really liked some of the sweet items left in the room at night. Lot of free water in the room and by the pool. Probably the other drawback (as with all hotels in the area) is that there is a feeling of a lack of privacy. You can seen from the path and people do stop and stare at the hotels because of the beauty of the setting. Overall this is a great hotel but just for the very fit.
