Myself and my husband have just returned from a lovely holiday where we stayed 14 nights at the Belvedere. Mixed reviews but il start with the good.... firstly the pool staff, Nico and Kostas..... they were fantastic and you could be forgiven for thinking this hotel was theirs as they took excellent care of us and made sure we had a great time. Secondly the views... amazing.. exactly like the pictures you see online yet unfiltered. Thirdly the local restaurants. A short walk away and fantastic quality food and choice. Now for the not so good ... we were left stranded on arrival in the dark as the bus couldn't take us to the hotel and dropped us off by a tree! The hotel should have sent someone to meet us but they didn't and luckily a local gentleman showed us where to go. The room was functional but not amazing and the pool area the same. Not enough beds for those staying yet the hotel allows non residents to come and go as they please as long as they buy at the bar. (And don't get me started on the cost of drinks at the bar). We seemed to be in the minority as for length of stay (as I mentioned 14 nights), most only stayed 3-5 nights, so I naively thought that when it came to our last day we would be allowed a courtesy room for a shower later in the evening (check out was 11am!) we were told the hotel was fully booked and offered the shower/toilets by the side of the pool. So disappointing. I would still recommend this hotel but only for a short stay. Def not a 4* hotel more a 3*.
As part of a trip to Greece, my girlfriend and I decided to spend 2 nights in Santorini to relax after a friend's wedding. Picking the hotel in Santorini was extremely difficult because everyone has a different opinion on staying in Fira or Oia and, not being particularly familiar with the island, it was hard to discern which hotels were in the best spots with the best views. After some pretty extensive research, we landed on the Belvedere Suites. We picked it for three reasons - rooms with views of the caldera, a pool and close enough to Fira to get there, but far enough away (Firostefani is a 10 minute walk from the center of Fira) that the noise was not an issue. The views did not disappoint - both the pool and our balcony overlooked expansive swaths of the caldera! That said, for the price we paid to stay here, we did think that the hotel room and amenities (especially the bathrooms) are in need of some updates. Everything was clean, but it was just a little tired. A couple of other things to mention, the language barrier with the staff was a bit noticeable in a couple of instances, especially at one point when there was a scheduling issue with a cab they were going to arrange for us. When they realized their mistake, they were quick to apologize, but it took a lot of time to get to that point. Also, one of the reasons we were concerned about booking here was that many people left reviews complaining about their room location. When we arrived, we were brought away from the main hotel building and over to an adjacent location (owned by Belvedere) that was about a five minute walk away. The room was fine and it wasn't really an inconvenience, but I would have appreciated a bit more information from the hotel about the location. I would also add that, unlike the main hotel building, this location's rooms were easily accessible from the walking paths and there was no security. While we never felt unsafe in the room, it was something we want to point out for future guests.
Great boutique hotel overlooking the Caldera in Santorini. Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Beautiful sunset views providing you pay extra for a sea view room. Clean pool, towels are provided every day for the pool or the beach. Good selection of food for breakfast (hot or cold) and light lunch. We were very well looked after at the pool bar by Nico! Thank you for a great holiday!
Stayed in June 2017 with a group of friends great hotel great staff especially Nico at the pool bar who kept us watered and well oiled all day! Not apologising to the Americans who we have apparently annoyed with our 'competing music' which according to them upset the ambience. If ambience to you is listening to Greek adverts on the hotel radio all day then crack on but it wasn't for us hence the music. Anyways some of your fellow countrymen (Joe, Jackie and Kate from Boston & New York) enjoyed it. Will return soon!
Perfect for a couples retreat. Short walk from all of the action but far enough away to enjoy the serenity. Would highly recommend this hotel for couples or even a small family. Pool view is sensational and restaurants are all closeby. Such a relaxing experience
My teenage daughter and I had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Belvedere Hotel and Suites . We stayed in one of the larger traditional cave suites #207 . It was so beautiful. A few steps away from main hotel but so quiet and was such a large space , it was our own private little house :) Everything about our stay was perfect 👌😍
We spent 5 nights the the Belvedere and honestly wish we had another 6 nights there. It is in a beautiful location which is in Firostefani, an area with many lovely restaurants and only 10-15 minute walk to Thira which is a bit busier and slightly less peaceful. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the caldera from the balcony. It is definitely worth the upgrade to a sea view room. The reception staff were really helpful and kind, as were the bar staff. The bar and pool area has great views, there wasn't an abundance of sun beds but always enough with people coming and going. Breakfast was fairly basic but still good. I would 100% recommend this beautiful hotel. Just one tip-make sure you book a transfer from the airport because getting a taxi is surprisingly difficult. There is a shortage of them on the island.
The staff at the belvedere were super helpful in helping me arrange all the details to be able to propose to my future wife on the island. All of the staff in general were kind and very polite. The hotel itself has great amenities, spectacular views of the sunsets and super clean and spacious rooms, I definitely look forward to going back to belvedere at some point.
Second time in Santorini. Belvedere is solid. Nothing in this hotel really wow'd us (outside the view, obviously) but it served our needs well. The one downside was the competing music at the pool. The hotel shouldn't allow one party to play their own music loudly as it detracts from the ambiance. One group did this for multiple days, and while it didn't kill our day, it was surprising that this was allowed.
We spent 5 days here for our 10th anniversary and everything was perfect. From the moment you check in, Anna and Vicky make you you feel at home. They were very happy to offer suggestions on things to do and were sincerelly trying to make our stay pleasant. Our room was so beautiful with a small garden and sun beds in front of it, offering the stunning view of the caldera and the blue of the Aegean Sea. The staff cleaned our room twice a day so our room was always clean and neat. The breakfast was great with a great variety and was served around the pool area. Also there is a bar at the same area where you can taste excellent cocktails and snacks. Thank you all at Belvedere, we can’t wait to come back.
