We arrived via plane into Santorini and took a transfer from the airport, and the driver called the hotel just before our arrival and a porter arrived to meet us at the drop off point in Fira, turns out it was only like a three minute walk, but super nice when arriving early morning and not entirely awake. Reception was extremely easy and welcoming ( I think it was Anna ? sorry as am writing a few months later ) Upon returning the room was ready and exceeded our expectations, WOW! Attention to detail! The colour schemes, soon relaxing, and the private little balcony.... sigh........ Breakfast by the pool, was super, bit chilly ( but it was October!) food was VERY GOOD!!!! Great dramatic photos from along the pools edge to the caldera below. Beds super comfortable, perfect temperatures in the room, showers big and spacious and lots of hot water and nice bath amenities as well. I agree with eh other reviewers, glad to not be in town and away from the cruise ship crowds. We did do the 9 km hike ( trek) over to Oia... it was ok, JUST ! ok, if you are really bored then do it, but you will definitely want to take the bus back! Cool little place Oia, was it worth the walk????? Go right to the end of town if you want to get the iconic shots of the houses on the side of the cliffs and the wind mills. Pick up a bottle of wine and some nibbles and then come back and watch the breathtaking sunsets from your balcony at the Belvedere! The gentleman down at the breakfast area was super nice as well, but in all honesty, EVERYONE there was Super! Well worth splurging for!
Loveeeeed this hotel. The views from here were beyond breathtaking. This hotel was more on the quiet side, maybe it was the time of year? But regardless, I would definitely recommend it. It’s a short distance to the downtown area.
Everything about this hotel is superb. The location is absolutely fantastic, the Santorini sunset from our balcony every day will be remembered forever. We were lucky enough to receive an up grade with our room which was like an apartment. The breakfast was most enjoyable with the usual basic fare, certainly adequate and the poolside location is great. The staff are more than willing to help with everything. This was to be the highlight of our trip to the Greek Islands and it certainly did not disappoint. Say hello to Nikko, a really nice young man who works breakfast and around the pool.
As others have mentioned, the views are breath taking, the staff is graceous and helpful. But what we appreciated most was the location. Thanks to reviews here in TripAdvisor, we chose the Belvedere over other options in Fira. Once there we realized how much this hotel is well located. A quick 10 minute walk over to Fira with it's shops and restaurants, but far enough away to escape the crowds from the cruise ships. We only had 2 ships in on e day and 3 another and that was plenty. Being able to quickly get to a place that was quiet without all the people helped us enjoy our visit all the more. Our first nite we walked over to Fira for dinner and on our way back to the Belvedere we were commenting how glad we were we hadn't stayed in town. The Belvedere is a great choice if you want the gorgeous views of Santorini, easy access to the action in Fira with a refuge from the crowds to quietly recharge.
Very good property with large private balcony area overlooking the sea. Large rooms with attached dressing area. Located very near the Fira church , the hostess was helpful with details of some sightseeing places and restaurant recommendations. Very near some great restaurants serving Greek food. Should be good for family holidays or destination wedding.
If you haven't ever been to Santorini before, do not go past this place. To say it was amazing would not be doing it justice. The views are just phenomenal from every area of the hotel. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite and had so much space we didn't know what to do with it all. The only complaint we had was the hot water always ran to barely luke warm after about 2 minutes - they need to address that because most mornings (we were there for 5 nights) there wasn't enough hot water for my husband - he had to wait for it to heat up. Apart from that, the staff here are all very accommodating and the overall experience was terrific.
This was a dream come true. I have been to Santorini before, but this was the way you should see it for the first time. Amazing views, great staff and services. This is the place you want to go with the one you love - not a place for small children or families.
the stuff was kind and smiley! Breakfast was very good. Very clean. Greatest view of caldera! Big pool ! The girls at the reception were great! Vicky thank you for everything! Hope to see you again soon!
Perfect location. Far enough north of Fira to avoid most of the cruise ship crowds, but within walking distance to Fira for shopping. At check in, we were upgraded to VIP rooms on the bottom floor with a nice balcony to view the caldera and a second story bed room (only caution is the steps from the bedroom are a little steep). All the VIP rooms open in to a wine cellar area that is very picturesque. There were 103 steps from our room to the top of the lane running past the hotel, so we got a good work out (but hey, at 65 years it wasn’t that tough!). Although, thankfully, the porter carried our bags up and down the stairs. The pool/bar area was beautiful with a nice breakfast served there every morning. Nico the bartender kept the Volkan (local beer) flowing and room service kept our rooms clean and tidy with fresh towels every day. We even had lunch a couple of days at the hotel by the pool and although the menu is limited (sandwiches and salads) the Santorini salad was the best we had of all our Greek salads during our three-week adventure in Greece (and we definitely had some great Greek salads along the way!). There are several good restaurants just a couple minutes’ walk north of the Belvedere (get reservations a day or two ahead of time during the busy season, if you want a table right on the caldera) and if you have a rental car there is a parking area above the Belvedere on the road next to its sister hotel the Santorini Palace. We recommend a rental car for a few days. There are some wonderful wineries to visit and black beaches with boardwalks and lots of restaurants/shops to explore on the eastern shore.
Had an absolutely fabulous time in Santorini. Belvedere Suite was in the perfect location. Close to bus stop, quad bike parking, lots & lots of restaurants, shops & a scenic 10 mins walk to town where there are more restaurants, shops, bars & clubs. Our room was cute & just right. Management & Staff are welcoming polite & helpful. Yes it was slightly windy to use the pool but in comparison to other hotels Belvedere offer privacy & an adequate size pool. Bring comfortable walking shoes as most of the roads are cobbled, up hill & down hill but a perfect exercise to burn off the calories after indulging in the tasty food & scrumptious gelato. Please do disregard the negative comments about this hotel & Santorini overall, some people just do not appreciate good culture!
