I've had such a wonderful stay in this beautiful hotel. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful with all requests. The rooms are bright and spacious, cleaned excellently everyday. Beautiful balcony overlooking a garden. It also has a rooftop with views of the city. Breakfast is fresh, tasty and plentiful in terms of quantity and options. The location is fabulous and surrounded by amazing street art. Pablo Nerudas house is easily within walking distance. I can't wait to come back and I will definitely stay in Loreto!
For a small hotel we were as well looked after as at one of the best upmarket ones. The rooms are a reasonable size and very clean. Location is great once you find your bearings but reception will help you with that as well as everything else. It is a quiet place in a busy suburb.
I always reckon that the staff can make a huge difference to a hotel - you can forgive a lot if the staff are trying their best to help you. If there are problems, and the staff are unhelpful or downright rude, they are unlikely to get a good review from you on TripAdvisor! No such issues with the Loreto - the reception staff were enormously helpful. The nearest ATM with map directions; reliable transport to the airport; restaurant suggestions; etc. Okay, maybe that's part of their job, but I've known other hotel with reception staff less than forthcoming in that regard. However, the front-of-house staff at the Loreto knew my name and my room number and were happy to have a chat and a joke - very nice. The room was fine - very clean. A small but functional bathroom - good hot water. Good free wifi in my room. Pleasant breakfast room with a fairly standard breakfast buffet of hot and cold dishes. My tour company and airport transfers knew where it was without checking, so obviously it's quite well-known. It's located in an interesting area. Lot's of street markets, but lots of clothing makers. Apparently, many Santiagons (?) come here to buy uniforms. I bought 3 t-shirts for 10,000 pesos (about USD$16/AUD$21) from a shop around the corner, and they put the designs on then and there for me. I'd go back to the Loreto without hesitation.
Can I only give 5 stars? From the moment we arrived we were charmed by the attentive and friendly staff. It felt like home. Our triple room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is spotless. The breakfast that is included had many choices and is served in a lovely room just off the courtyard. Did I mention that every room appears to have a veranda overlooking the courtyard. It's walking distance to many restaurants our favorite being just up the street in the middle of the block. And don't miss the lovely little bar above the reception area. Dairon makes a perfect pisco sour. We walked to San Cristobal in about 10 minutes. I cannot say one negative thing about this hotel but one thing you might consider is that all the rooms are on the second level and there is no elevator. They will take your luggage back and forth but you must be able to walk up two flights of stairs.
Superb location. Easy walk to Metro & wide variety of restaurants. Breakfast excellent. Staff among the more helpful we've ever encountered. Internet worked well. Only negatives: no elevator, rooms on 1st floor very small. Adequate but tight.
OK. Listen: If you are in Santiago and looking for a nice place to stay that is centrally located at a great price with great staff then you can't go wrong. You will get a free bottle of wine at check-in, too. The rooms can be small, but that is a small price to pay for what you also get at this hotel: a nice botique hotel with great grounds. In short: a real nice property. And Ivan, the front desk clerk, is a hoot!
Good location - about 7 minutes walk to Bellas Artes Museum/city centre. Or walk into the Bellavista area (a few minutes) for lots of brilliant bars and restaurants. Very clean. Very helpful staff. Fabulous breakfast. Lovely roof top terrace. No Bar.
Really happy to choose this hotel Loreto. It is close to the San Cristobal, downtown etc We can walk to everywhere. Wish we stay longer there so that we an spend more time at San Cristobal. All the staffs are very nice , Dairon and Melissa helped us with the direction. Thank you Dairon and Melissa and all other staffs ! Melissa helped us get the taxi to go to the airport. Will recommend this hotel. It is very convenient !!!
We stayed a couple of nights in this hotel whilst in Santiago. The hotel is pretty average, the hotel is in a nice location average but the staff made this hotel extraordinary! They arranged an early check in for us as we just arrived from a long flight and was really helpful during our stay!
Hotel Loreto is a great place to stay in Santiago. It is in Bellavista. The staff is very helpful and great food nearby (Galindo Restaurant). The subway is just a short distance away. The breakfast is great and there is free WiFi. The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable but the bathrooms are small. I always stay here when I'm in Santiago.
