Quality Inn & Suites Capitola By the Sea

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Room is large , clean and comfy. Shower and bathroom are adequate for the 4 people we had. No restrictions on just 2 guests. As a family we wanted to stay together. Price is very competitive. No elevators, but not a problem for short stays. Pool looked good, too early to use. Breakfast was substantial. All staff were friendly and welcoming.

Location was good for anyone visiting Capitola as it was just a short, 15 minute walk to get into town. However, place was somewhat dumpy and run down looking, and would probably be below expectations for serious travelers. I just stayed there a few days, and it was adequate.

Quality Inn & Suites Capitola was just what I needed. It was close to shops and a quick drive to my son's house on the East side of Santa Cruz. It was quiet and the staff was friendly.

I have stayed at at least 100 quality inns and this is by far the worst. It is not on the beach and the beds are so hard it's like sleeping on a counter. I found jewelry in the sheets, and the noise is bad not because people are loud but because the building sucks!!!!! Cost was 221.00 horrible

We enjoyed another pleasant stay at Quality Inn Capitola for July 4. The staff are friendly, and the location can't be beat. You can walk everywhere in Capitola - the Espanade and the beach, the Mall for some shopping, and the bluffs to overlook the Pacific Ocean.

The hotel has the ambiance of a collection of private condominiums. Rooms are large, clean and nicely equipped. Desk staff was highly professional and welcoming.

We always look for this hotel when planning a beach escape. Walkable to the beach, cafes, restaurants and local shops, Quality Inn offers the greatest ease settling into Capitola.

Dirt in corners including bathroom, smelled weird, lumpy bed. Didn't replace shampoo on 2nd night. This may be a fall back place for most, but beware you may not get your money's worth under any conditions.

We spent a week there while visiting our daughter in Santa Cruz. Location was great. It was very, very quiet. Pool was nice. The cleaning staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast selection was very good! Rooms were very clean. The only problem was how slippery the tub was. My husband fell while trying to get into the tub when it was dry.

The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. But the towels were lacking and not clean. Had to inspect to find the clean ones. Won't go back.

The first time we stayed the room was spacious. The second time we were in the building #2 and I did not like the lay out of the room. It felt cramped. The wall heater was very old and would not warm up the room. Other than that for the price and location it was good. I would come back but not want to be in building #2 I like building #3 better.

I was suprised when I entered my room. It was very spacious and clean. I like the idea of having the patio attached to the room. The prices was very reasonable.

We have stayed here before. Like the location, room clean, pool not heated this time, good breakfast. We would stay again.

Great over all experience. Very friendly staff, clean comfortable room.

Very surprised at the numerous postive posts regarding the Quality Suites in Capitola. This hotel is old, outdated and dirty. We arrived just after 10 PM and had to ring a bell to alert the reception. We were notified the office closed at 10 and we were checked in through the type of glass window you would see at a currency exchange. This hotel would have been overpriced at half the rate we were charged.

The room was very clean and the staff was one of the best. They were friendly and accomodating. I was surprised by the breakfast which I found to be very good for a hotel. Little is know about the free shuttle that you can pick up just down the hill from the hotel that takes you to the wharf on weekends and holidays. A huge plus. The place is nicely landscaped and well maintained. The only downfall is that is it located close to the freeway. Stay towards the front and it is a lot quieter. Definitily would recommend this place.

The hotel was close to the Beach. We would stay here again

The hotel was very conveniently located. It was walking distance to a nice grocery store, coffee and drug store. It was a few miles to the beach, but walking was no problem if we did not haul a bunch of beach gear. The staff was very friendly. The only down side was freeway traffic noise.

Great location , great rate. I will be stay there again

Great experience, quick check-in, friendly manager. No frills room, but comfortable and perfectly clean. Nice location, near Gayle's Bakery, our favorite!
