Stayed there for one night, room was poorly maintained, carpet was smelly and worn out, it was very noisy did not have a good night sleep. Staff was not too happy to help, continental breakfast was not good. Would not stay again, it is too expensive. On the other hand, the location was great, just a few minutes from Hearst Castle and other points of interest.

This hotel has two buildings. The one we stayed, didn't have elevator. In addition, they didn't do our room. When asked the front desk why wasn't our room done, they said that they didn't have staff to clean them. Very disappointing.

I tried to extend my stay by one night and was quoted over two fifty for the room. We decided to stay down the road for a hundred less. I looked at Trivago for that night and it was one sixty five. We spend a week in San Simeon every July but not at this hotel next year.

Not a single complaint - the staff was professional and kind, the room was clean and spacious, and the area is nice and quiet. We got more than our moneys worth!

The hotel was disappointing upon arrival. It is an older hotel and with that comes signs of age throughout. It is very dated, but decently clean. Some things that bothered us were as follows: no elevator, not a huge deal, but a little inconvenient. The sheets did. It completely cover the mattress, which left mattress exposed. There was no mattress protector, just a small cover which did not cover the entire mattress. This is hugely concerning in a hotel setting. The windows covering was stained. The bedskirt was stained. The fireplace didn’t work the first day, but did work after that. The pool was dirty and the are did not look desirable to sit and relax. Front seat staff were friendly, but the breakfast area staff were not friendly nor were they very accommodating. Speaking of breakfast, it was probably the lowest level of a continental breakfast that I have ever had. Small selection of items and nothing wonderful. They did have waffles, which were good. The location is within walking distance to the beach, but not really an area that you could relax in or spend much time at. Overall, the hotel was okay, not a place we would stay again.

"The hotel is conveniently located near Hearst Castle, the beach, and several restaurants. The staff is friendly and welcoming. However, the rooms are a bit dated, and the fireplace stays on constantly with a small flame that cannot be turned off. I felt uneasy with the fire always on, so I had to keep the windows slightly open to maintain airflow for safety concerns. The staff explained that the constant flame is normal, and that if there were no flame, it could indicate some issues.

The manager was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was perfect for kids and to grab something before heading out back on the road.

One night stay

Room was great, bed super comfy. Staff polite and helpful. Breakfast was the best so far to be honest. Loved the hotel decor. Only issue we had as it applies to the other hotels we have stayed in is that we had to use plastic cutlery and paper plates and cups which is very uneviromental. The hotel is in the ideal spot for seal lions and hearst Castle.
