Our television didn’t work at all . All 3 days we Paid a good amount of money for it not to work was disappointing

I had a great time staying there. Everything was neat and clean.

The air conditioner was broken and the room had a bad odor.

Nice place right by the beach and very nice price

Everything is old and broken, there’s a strong smell that makes me sneeze like crazy when i walk in the room shower facilities is horribly old and i have to call the frontdesk to help me with it, it’s in cheap price so I’ll have to take it but I’ll never return

View of the ocean from our second floor room! Nice location just south of Big Sur

We paid $289+ tax per night for this hotel. The property is really old. Everything is old. The wall is very thin. you can hear your neighbors talking clearly. Bathroom light is broken and the shower is very small (i think it's 4'x4' only?) shower water is leaking all the night. good thing is, it is very close to the Castle.

It’s not that San Simeon Lodge was bad, it’s just that it’s bad for the area. For the same price, in fact, sometimes for cheaper, you can get a room twice the size, with far better AC/heating, a much larger TV, better channel options, and amenities like a microwave (which the hotel didn’t have, even in the lobby) and a larger refrigerator. We’ve stayed at five other hotels on the same road or directly across the street and had a far better experience, so we’d never stay here again.

perfect location, nice room. Will book again! Friendly stuff, no complains, no issues. Good value for the money.

Good Location. Pleasant room. Only Complaint was that there was 3 beds requested during the reservation, but there was no record of that at the front desk. Front desk clerk did provide a roll-away bed, but that initially didn't seem that a rollaway bed was possible.

Older hotel that needs some updating and repairs. The staff were all great and the area offers may things to do.

Friendly staff with a quick and easy check in. Nice restaurant and bar with good food.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. We had a beautiful view of the ocean and the evening sunset was spectacular! Check in was very smooth and we were quite early but that wasn't a problem. We had drinks at the lounge and dinner at the restaurant there and were so glad to have everything, including the beach, just a few steps away. We would choose to stay here again.

Good hotel. Very friendly staff. No air conditioning not screen on the windows. Especially concerned leaving front windows open because any one walking by could just reach in and unlock the door

The hotel itself requires a lot of updating. Showers are very small. Stains, wear and tear all around the room evident. Management needs to invest into renovating the rooms. I did. It appreciate the almost 50 percent price increase from Thursday to Friday. I understand it was Memorial Day weekend but, other comparable options were available and the quality doesn’t match up to the higher price. The cleaning service was good. They did a good job of switching out and restocking amenities when making over. The restaurant staff at the lodge were nice. Food was decent and recommended as a convienent point for breakfast before heading out. If you’re going to Hearst Castle they do have a cafeteria there which may be perferable considering they charge the same.
