Room is comfortable. Cable TV issuez on arrival...room not cleanec daily..fresh towels daily...staff was kind...did not understand english
Not the worst motel in San Diego (probably), but nowhere near the Moderately OK list either. Room was too warm despite having AC on high all the time... and AC fan was far too noisy. Hand-held hairdryer did not work. Large grasshopper - LIVE - in bathtub upon arrival (I killed it). Staff was somber and not outgoing in the least, but did their jobs when asked. Room had good amenities: ironing board and iron; microwave; small fridge (not cold enough, though); and coffee maker. I had a non-smoking room which did appear to have no residual smoking odor. Shower was just ok, nothing special. TV was 42-in flat screen and did offer free HBO. But "free" Wi-Fi was abysmally SLOW, and cut off after brief moments of user inactivity.
" QUEEN " bed felt smaller and room a little tight. Other than that was okay.. 7 minute from San Diego
Good stay clean rooms ,safe at night. don't know why the bad reviews
The beds are very uncomfortable and there was roaches crawling everywhere at night.
Overall it was okay. Not a good place to go if you do not own your Bank Card. They do not accept cash deposits and they will charge you full price if you need to cancel. Other than I guess it ok.
I stayed here for Comicon this Summer. On a pinch, it's not a bad place to be. It's close to the Trolley station and you can take that to downtown San Diego and avoid the nightmare that is having to deal with a car in the downtown SD area. The guy managing the hotel was nice enough and let me keep the car parked there even as I wasn't checked in yet. The room itself was rough. it was supposed to be a smoke-free room but smelled otherwise. I don't know if it was recent smoke from previous guests or an ancient irremovable smoke from years before but it was rough to be around. My sink still stinks and is yellowed from it. The hair dryer didn't work, not a problem for me, specifically. Funniest thing to happen was that the towel rack was bent and the other towel fell right into the toilet. On a plus note, there was a functioning fridge and microwave. It kept the wine I never drank cold for the weekend.
The Rodeway Inn in National City may best be described as a "flea bag" or "dive" but over the past weekend, I came to think of it as my own personal pit of grodiness in the taint between the dung hole of Tijuana and the sack of San Diego. You will enjoy your stay here if you like: - Finding other people's hair in your bathing linens - Finding cigarette ashes folded into your sleeping linens - Finding mounds of crud and litter behind the furniture - Having every piece of furniture or linen have a tear or hole in it. - Enjoying a view over an open dumpster I can't even say its a good value because the gouged me on the room rate for a special event. If you find yourself without options and the Rodeway Inn, National City is the only place to stay for a night, remember that there is always suicide. I mean, if you have to book a room here, your life has already reached a level of disappointment that there is, most likely, no recovery from.
if you don't have any other option to stay @ San Diego. This hotel is fine for a night. Nothing great for what I paid.
They gave us a room with dirty sheets, after the first night we relized they also had BED BUGS and I ended up with a rash. The Hotel was so bad I didnt even want to give them (1) Star. Saving a few dollars isnt everything. I would never stay here again and I don't recommend you stay here eighter.
Attended san diego gay pride I asked for hotel close to the event it turned out to be far not close to water and bit coated me $250. 00 for 2 nights for 1 star hotel. As io travel thru the city so better and more interesting location and regreted terribly my choice .. But the attendant seemed not aware of pride or my needs.
If you're looking for a cheap place to stay, this did the job. Other than that, the location was a bit shady, being right off the freeway. Also, when we examined the bedding a bit closer, we noticed hairs sticking to the sheets. I was actually surprised that they provided a full microwave and fridge however. Not sure if I would stay here again however. I think I would rather pay extra to stay closer to the city.
I was attending a convention, and since i was alone i wanted something inexpensive but near downtown. Room was clean and the basics were available, but it took forever to get hot water, which delayed me every morning. Staff is helpful but not friendly. Acess to the freeway is about 100 yards, which is great but also noisy at night. Not for the family, just for singles..
Check in was not until 2pm we arrived early and once i said who i was the person who answered "Manager" said "What do you want" not how can i help you.. or anything.. very rude the place let homeless people walk in and go through the trash and was not in a good safe area. I will NEVER BOOK A ROOM THERE EVER!!!!!
We just sleep, the hotel is fair for the price that they ask. Nothing special
The rooms were nice and clean. In fact very tidy, the bed was very comfortable. The motel is located within a short drive to many atractions. Easy access to Interstate 5 ! Although the continental breakfast is seriusly lacking
The National City Rodeway Inn was decent as expected. It has a very convenient location right next to the 5 freeway. The room was clean, staff was friendly, and everything worked out just fine. The only complaint I have is that the shower did not have very good water pressure. But other than that, I am very satisfied.
Rodeway Inn is near to busy I-5, but there is no freeway noise. The rooms are average.
