Great walkers and bikers hotel. Fabulous views from restaurant and lounge. We had ground floor room restricted view but sun loungers. Food is plentiful great for walkers but not very inspiring. Spa was busy early evening but adequate. Pool was great in March with cover. The views are fabulous and surrounding mountains and scenery breathtaking. The mountain roads are good all tarmac and fabulous views.

Stayed here while my husband was on a cycling tour. I loved it even though I was on my own during the day. The staff were very friendly and there were activities organised. I especially enjoyed the archery. The views from the rooms and the public areas were breathtaking. You could see up to the highest point of the island in one direction and down to the sea in the other. The pool was heated and the sun chairs comfortable. I really felt I was in paradise. It could not have been better.

Great ambience, friendly staff. Good quality and plentiful food with variety and choice. Rooms decent size, we were in a standard and it was comfortable and quiet. Public areas are comfortable and if you need WiFi it's free in these areas. Drinks good value, same as in town. Fantastic centre for all sorts of walks to lovely valleys, hills and villages. Pretty town. Folders full of walking guides in reception. Pool and spa were lovely as we're terraces for relaxing in sun. Would return.

On the positve side - this hotel has views to die for. It sits at the top of one of the many ridges that make up the internal structure of Gran Canaria. Majestic and largely unspoiled unlike the coast. Nearly all the staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked a junior suite - the room was very clean and spacious and the bathroom large. However the hotel has a look of neglect. The plaster was chipped as was the basin and grouting terrible. The bath had an old black rubber plug with no chain . Take your own tolietries ..apart from a bottle of body/shampoo high up by the shower (not helpful if u want to wash you hands) nothing else is provided - no tissue no cotton wool no soap etc.The bathroom door was made of sliding formica - ugly. There was a fridge in the room but no mini-bar and no room service(despite being advertised). 1 sachet of instant coffee and 1 of a few different teas but no milk,The room had sliding windows onto a very small balcony/ terrace (one chair wide). This did not lock and was easily accesible from the outside The charge for wi-fi at 6 euro per day is a rip off (the free wi-fi is unusable). It only works intermittanly and at 1mgb!! The food was not what we had expected. There is a buffet breakfast and dinner with no alternative. Whilst a la carte is advertised we were told it was not available. One night we asked for a sandwich as we only wanted a light meal- this was also apparently unavailable! Buffet or nothing! I would suggest that they provide a rather smaller choice and cook it fresh (quality over quantity). The selection was huge but nothing benefits by stewing in hot pans for hours ..get to breakfast or dinner early or choices run out and whats left gets overcooked - however we did not want to get up at 7 am on holiday!! The pool area is nice as is the pool ..but no service provided (pool bar unmanned) so if u want a coffee or a drink u have to go back through the hotel to the main bar in the foyer..I would love to know where the snack bar/ deli advertised is located ..unknown to staff! Decor wise - if u like the 70's (probaly the hotel's hayday) it is for you:) I get the impression that this was once a luxury hotel but now needs money spent on it and it is a good 3* hotel not the 4*

The hotel has a amizing view. It's a nice place where hikinggroups and cyclist sleep. From there you can go for a nice hike tour. The rooms are ok. There is a waterkoker. The spa is free, great after a training. The food in the resto ws ok. Also breakfast. A pity there was no fresh orange juice. The bed made noise during the night wenn you turn around. Great hotel, very friendly staff, quiet place, food ok can a bit better.

Lovely hotel with superb dining facilities, a good bar with good service and good public areas. Rooms are fairly small although perfectly adequate and most seem to have a small balcony. I think that all the rooms are East facing which means that even during the summer they should stay reasonably cool.

We were booked in for a week and got a pleasant and reasonably sized room on the ground floor with a patio with two loungers which were good for the morning. The hotel is built on a hillside overlooking a valley and you get great morning views as the sun rises. In January the air is still cold and once the sun went off the patio early afternoon it was too cold to sit out so people move to the loungers round the pool on the other side of the building. There have been previous reviews of this hotel describing how there are noisy dogs in the valley and how the food was cold. These problems were not an issue during our visit. There were some distant dog barks but they did not disturb our peace at all and the breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. Gran Canaria is difficult to traverse. The roads are of good quality but extremely tortuous. Overtaking opportunities are rare unless the person in front is generous enough to let one pass. There are good walks all over the island and the central location of this hotel is a big advantage for walkers who want to get out and explore.central and western areas. The pool was great and the prices of drinks were reasonable. All the staff we had dealings with were pleasant and many had good English. The hotel is large and not what you would call charming. There is free wifi in the communal areas around reception but one has to pay for wifi in your room. The pool is a covered outdoor pool. The pool is clean and very pleasant with a waterfall feature. There is a gym and a sauna. The sauna has a strong handed masseur who is very effective at what he does. There were a few odd things, the hotel does charge for the use of the room safe but we did not have any qualms about leaving things in the room. The fridge in the room did not work but the management took that on board and agreed to change it. In the hotel reception there is a desk with lots of walking guides and one can buy the standard island walking map from reception. There is a PC in reception but you have to pay for that. We managed very well with a smartphone and did not bother with the PC. Mobile reception is good throughout the hotel. By now you can guess that we liked it and would gladly go again.

For those who love peace ,elegance, kidness and quality.. Located in a magic place..seems to be in a film..incredibile view! The food super delicious and well planned..each day i could try some New dishes of a really good taste nd quality..i am a vegetarian and i must admit i was surprise..positivly of course😊fresh and a great choice! Compliments for the Chef and for the person who creats the menù! Very gentle staff. .the hotel Very clean and focused on details..rooms beautiful! I trully reccomend! if came back on Gran Canaria one day i would choose this hotel again!thank you for all

Up in the hills away from the awfulness of the crammed in resorts, this really is a peaceful haven to relax in - whether in and around the hotel (the lounge is well-appointed and comfortable with stunning views and astonishing sunsets - the hotel bar generous in its measures and reasonable in its prices; there were a few slightly dated games and some books - which we needed as we hit bad weather (see below)), the pool (great pool, lovely sun terraces x2, sheltered from winds and with JUST enough umbrellas if shade is needed), or as a base to walk the hills - solo or using the occasional hotel-organised excursions (we read about these - none on when we visited). Meals are satisfying. There was just enough variation over the week. It's not going to get Michelin stars but it was good quality for what it was - and by paying in advance was quite excellent value (€10 each for three courses when we booked 5 meals out; drinks extra. The rooms (we had two standard twin rooms "pushed together") were clean and pleasant - and the views really were stunning to wake up to. The only complaint I could (with some effort) come up with was that the aircon was a bit unreliable - but we opened a window and were fine (the kids cooked a bit until they worked it out!). The staff were friendly and courteous - much more family-style than corporate anonymous. They were lovely with our kids. And could not have been more helpful when we had a car tyre incident; their fury with the car hire company's uselessness matched my own (Budget/Avis since you ask - really poor!). San B's is pretty and we had lunch out there every day; 20mins walk, friendly and caters for tourists and travellers (DONT expect the discount locals get - that would not be fair). And there are lots of pretty walks (long and short) within driving distance. We loved the place - which was fortunate since the weather didn't work out for us - 4 days of thunder storms, 2 of sun - and will most definitely be back. So much more of the island still to see - and hopefully I'm sun next time!
