During university term-time, the rooms are used by students so the hotel rooms are quite basic. However, my room was clean and warm - doors are locked from the outside and inside with a key. From the railway station it's about a 10-15 minute walk but the location of the hotel is close to the shops and many restaurants. The breakfast was very good although we did have a fire alarm one morning due to the catering company burning the toast! If you are looking for a cheap place to stay and don't mind basic amenities in your room, this is well worth the price.
The staff is very friendly, speaking English, Italian and German. The included breakfast on the roof-top patio is excellent, offering bacon, eggs, vegetables, fruit, yogurts, cereals, etc etc and perfect coffees! The rooms are basic and the beds a little hard. Wi-fi is excellent and so is TV reception. Location of the hotel is very convenient, right in the heart of the city.
We visited this hotel during our stay in Salzburg in Sept 2016. We are overwhelmed with the location of the hotel which is just close to 10 mins walk to bus stop and 5-7 mins walk to old town followed by a street full of restaurants and shops and DM super market. We booked this hotel through booking.com with special request of check-in at 11 am which was accepted by hotel, but while reaching there we found room is not ready and we need to wait till 1 pm to get the room which was annoying and would have resulted in waste of time, hence unwillingly we need to keep our luggage at reception for entire day. One more thing to add they provide single beds and not double beds in rooms. As far as service is concerned they are good at it, since it was hot for us and rooms are not equipped with AC we requested for a fan and same was provided to us. Moreover, girls at reception are very well aware of bus routes and locations and can guide you to its best. Overall my experience was good and if I keep aside check-in issue it was really good. Hope this review will help travellers. Keep exploring keep sharing....
We stayed in the hotel for three nights. It's located close to the old city and offers basic services including very good breakfast, and nice view from the top floor balcony, free wifi and parking. No safe deposit in the room and no extra pillow if needed. No air condition , and very basic and small bathroom. Stuff was very cooperative and helpful.
The hotel is located on a side street on the side of the Kapuzinerberg. Although the hotel itself is modern, the rooms are quite small and basic and the wifi was not so good. We could not get any during the day and in the evening we kept reconnecting. The location however is a big plus since it is right at the center. You just need to cross the bridge to the Getriedegasse, Salzburg's shopping street. The Mirabell palace is just around the corner, a mere 7 mins. walk. There is no aircon and in July it can be really warm so we brought a small electric fan along. If you just want a place to crash for the night then this hotel would be a good choice.
The position of the hotel is good, its situated in the new part of town not the old sector. The room itself is very very basic,no air conditioning heating only. The shower is tiny and needs a clean, but the room is clean. The breakfast is continental and a little more, but its fresh and clean and yummy.
Hotel is extremely basic, hard beds, soft pillows, 1 desk and chair with t.v. 1 shelf unit. Shower extremely small I couldn't move in there and one door was broken so couldn't be shut.very stuffy rooms with no airflow particularly at night with Temps in the high teens. BUT on the upside...the rooms were clean (even though they forgot to clean it one day) and the breakfast is most enjoyable. Location is also pretty good. Short walk thru the arch to town. Would I stay here again? Probably not, I think there is much better value for money elsewhere.
The room is good but there isn t a coffe machine or frigo. The breakfast is very good! The hotel is not easy to locate because it is in a small street, but in the city center. The wi fi is good but everytime we have to reconnect.. People are sympatic.
Very simple but clean rooms, madrass very soft. No AC, and in our room only one smaller window to open. Had to open the door in the middle of the night due to being so warm and create some kind of ventilation. The shower cabin is quite small, so for a larger person it would be impossible to move.. No parking included but you get about 1-2 € discount on the ~17€ 24h parking house which is inside the mountain on the backside of the hotel. Breakfast was normal on the top floor, with a nice terrace outside to sit on. The hotel is situated quite close to the city, so there was no problem walking to Mirabelle, the river, old Town or the festung and back. All in all; a bit too expensive for the experience and the lack of AC in summer is not recommended.
The main benefit of staying at this hotel is its location which is only a ten minute walk to the old town and twenty minutes to the rail station with plenty of good restaurants close by. The hotel itself is very basic with little or no facilities apart from chocolate and drink machines. The rooms are basic but clean with comfortable beds, however with no air con it can be very humid on hot days. The breakfast is good and can be had on a roof terrace with views over the City. Overall it is good value considering its central location.
