There is no better location in Saint John. Have been staying at this hotel for years first with our children and now with our grandchildren. The hotel and rooms are always refreshed and never get that well worn out look. Great prices and really great staff!
My co-workers and I had a late evening check in due to flight delays. The hotel staff members seemed to be prepared for our arrival, and gave us an exceptionally warm welcome in spite of the late hour. We were greeted by an employee who gave us a weather report, and let us know the flight scheduled to arrive after ours had been cancelled. I had contacted the hotel in advance to make some special requests, and was impressed to find those were flawlessly executed. My room had a stunning view of the Bay. Although a pretty tight schedule for meetings and travel meant that I didn't get to enjoy that view during the daylight hours, it was still lovely to look out across the water at night. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I appreciated the crisp linens, snow-white towels, and the welcome amenity. The staff was consistently outstanding. We visited the hotel bar about a half an hour before closing time on the last night of our stay. In spite of the stormy night, and the fact we were the only customers in the bar, we still received great service. The front desk cheerfully booked taxis for our party for the next morning, wrapping up a great experience from start to finish. This is a very well managed property, and it shows in the courteous, and genuinely friendly interactions between staff and guests. The location is excellent for the stunning views of the Bay of Fundy, and proximity to bars, restaurants, and the St. John City Market. I will return to this hotel on future trips to St. John.
Last weekend my wife and I spent a night in this lovely property. It has become my new business hotel in SJ but this visit was just a weekend getaway. Before arriving I had checked in online and chosen a larger corner room with waterfront views. Room 1102. Upon arrival I was informed that there was a problem with my room and that I would be assigned a different room. I asked if the room was going to be comparable to what I had booked. I was told it was similar but not as big or as good of a water view. This is where this story gets really good! The night before when I checked in online I was given the choice of an upgrade. It was for the Royal Suite. ONLY an additional $499 a night to upgrade. Of course I didn't upgrade! Fast forward back to check in at the hotel. Since they did not have a comparable room to what I had booked I jokingly asked "What about the Royal Suite?". Two minutes later I had keys to the Royal Suite!!! A $ 699 a night room for $ 189!!! Wow! Staff at this hotel never cease to amaze me and I have only had the privilege to stay here about 4 times so it's not like I am some big repeat guest. Thank you so much for giving my wife and I this amazing experience! And as for the suite. ..wow! Over 1200 square feet with a dining table for 8 and massive rooms with lots of comfortable chairs for entertaining guests if you wanted. It is room 1201 and has many massive windows overlooking the harbour and the city. Two bathrooms. A huge shower. So nice! One great thing about the Hilton is that you have warm underground parking, although expensive at $18 a day. It is nice to have your car there covered, especially in the winter. Also you can go to many restaurants, shopping centers and Harbour station without going outside as there are tunnels underground. I love that! I don't remember the ladies name who checked us in but a big thank you to you! And nice to see you again John! I look forward to many more stays and seeing all the friendly faces after a hard days work. My new home in Saint John!
Stayed on a business trip. The roo. Was large and it bright because of the two windows. Nice chair but needs a floor lamp so you can read. The bathroom was very small and a bit out of date given the tub unit rather than the more modern walk in shower. Room was clean and well maintained. Certainly convenient to be downtown and connected to Market Square. Efficient but basic service at reception. Friendly and efficient check in but no concierge or door person to help with luggage or parking. Overall a good stay but I expect more for the the money. With parking at $23 a room is just over $200. Feels like 5 star pricing and 3 star service. Overall it was for
Visited here a year ago and didn’t have a great stay. This time was much better. Nice spacious room; very clean. Nice lobby bar with really good late night snacks. Hotel staff very helpful with directions and helping with luggage. Easy access to shopping across the street.
Very good service from the time I drove in the parking lot! The help was extremely pleasant and helpful. Restaurant had a nice menu also choices of wine, delicious food and great service from waitress.
I was on a work trip with a small group, this hotel was on our itinerary when staying in Saint John NB. The moment we got there it was a quick and painless check in! Wanting to connect to the WI-FI to speak to home, I had a few issues but quickly resolved when asking a member of staff. Rooms were amazingly large, I felt like a royal! I was treated to chocolate covered strawberries which sat proudly presented on a plate at the bottom of my bed (they didn't last long!) The window was pretty impressive also, floor to ceiling view of the harbour! The hotel was well positioned to the centre, also close to harbour side restaurants. Breakfast the next morning catered for everyone, from your fresh fruit to your oven baked pastries. Certainly stay there again if I ever ventured back to the area again. Would happily send my clients there too.
First off, I'd say better than average, but not "very" good, so hard to rate. The greeting was warm and efficient. This was a points stay for me, and I was made to feel valued rather than a freeloader. ;) The room layout was very good for a family. Two queens and a sofabed, in quite a large room. The beds were comfy, the linens good, the cleaning also good. I don't usually notice decor much--it's pretty standard--but this room was oddly, unusually undistinguished. Weird, I know. Very--tan. No pictures on the walls, no splashes of colour. Just shades of brown. Also while the furnishings weren't worn or outdated, it seems like some of structure needs updating. E.g., the very rattly heat/a/c vent in the entry way. Also the windows were leaking heat like crazy. We woke up to serious, thick ice build up around the bottom of the glass, and a terrible draft in that corner. Also the waterfront location is neat, but our window was to the back with lots of brick walls and other rooms' windows. Out the front of the hotel was much nicer. It was comfortable and appropriate for our one-night stay, and as I said, the service was nice. But meh, more than a night in that room and I think I'd feel institutionalized.
The price we got was right. Great location. It was very cold when we stayed and we didn't have to go outside to get to the Market, the mall, the Canada Games aquatic center or even Harbour Station. Great view from room as well. Rooms are very quiet and beds/pillows were comfortable. Only issue we had was no hot water on one of the mornings.
Booked my Bantam hockey team here, excellent service!! Staff was fantastic, great location. Rooms were perfect. I would definitely stay here again. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family!!
