I booked a room for July 5th and then had to cancel. Cancellation was made at 8 am and the room was rebooked. My card was charged for the room 3 days later! He is refusing to refund my card. What a jerk! Don’t trust him! Obviously if it was any other business a refund would have been issued immediately and my card wouldn’t have been charged!
Booked through Trip advisor/booking.com and ran into issues and could not use room as booked. Went in and asked if we could cancel (less than 24 hours notice) and the front desk said they would as a courtesy this one time. When they looked up the reservation and seen we already paid they said they couldn't cancel or refund. We actually wanted to reschedule our stay so I called booking.com who was willing to change the date if the hotel would allow it. When they called the hotel to check they said no they wouldn't do it. Lesson learned. : (
The room was reserved because we came from out of town for a funeral. There was myself, adult daughter, and a toddler. The room had 2 queen sized beds. My daughter had brought a pack-n-play for her child. Upon registration, she learned of an additional charge of $10... due to an additional person. The desk clerk was rude. The only thing I can nicely comment on is the room was clean and in a good location.
While on our move to the UP my wife found what we thought was a pet friendly place. Upon arrival arround 2 am we found the front locked and had to ring the bell... we where greeted by the most rude clerk ive come accross in a long time... almost as if was a bother we where there. We disclosed that we had a pet (normal rate is $25 a night or $50 for undisclosed )and the clerk said that they only had one room available for pets...and it was taken....This was not written anywhere on any of the borchures we saw, the clerk (who could barely speak english) explains we will be charged for the dog when it enters the room, again we explain we have a dog and to just add to the charges. He refuses and waits until we enter the room and then calls and becomes hostile and rude on the phone telling me he will charge the card. I explained to him id come pay the money and he says ok bring $50.... Needless to say I had my card credited back and we left. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason....
We got to room and it was below zero outside and the heat was turned down to 40degs. Had room reserved for a week so it wasn’t like they weren’t expecting us! Turned heat up and went to dinner. When we returned the water was frozen in sink. Called desk and they said to leave heat on all night and will thaw out!!! Dah!! If not for the heat situation all was good.
Stayed here on a trip to the Upper Peninsula. Was very clean...inexpensive..spacious..quiet..and homey. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Wifi was great and so was location. Definitely would stay again.
The people who run this are in the wrong business. They are sarcastic and rude. In addition to that the beds are hard. Also, it is overpriced for that location. Stay away - go to Standish wonderful hotel there.
Overpriced. The pillows had plastic in them and the bed was hard. Just felt like a sleazy retro place trying to upscale. Like a construction worker place. I will stay again if I have to, but twenty minutes away I can get something way better for around the same price...shop around. Only stay if you have no other choice or need to be in Pinconning.
Travelling south we were looking for a small inexpensive motel rather late in the evening when our trip was taking longer than expected. We wanted to stop before we hit the larger centres. A hwy sign on 75S directed us to the Trail Inn. It was better than we had hoped! Friendly check-in. Very clean, lots of details taken care of that many small motels don't bother with. The room was charmingly painted, and had lots of amenities - shampoo, fridge, microwave, wi-fi, TV, etc. and feather pillows! I had a great sleep. The price was a real value for such a great place. A modest little motel doesn't have to be dreary or boring; this one proves it. We will definitely stop there again.
Who would have thought that I'd ever see this little town of Pinconning? I have raced many times up the highway of mitt-shaped Michigan, but recently, as I was in the "crook" of the "mitt", the car broke down. Seriously! And after I was towed into nearby Pinconning, I was referred to this motel. What a delight! The motel courtyard was clean and inviting, the building and signage were painted and attractive. Inside, I found my assigned room to be bright, large and with many little pleasant surprises: fridge and microwave were included; the coffeepot was of stainless steel, the sink/washroom were separate from tub/toilet room; there was a magazine rack attached to the wall, and filled with magazines... heck, they even had (besides shampoo and soap) little sticks of deodorant on the sink. That crucial thing we all need today -- wi-fi -- was free and fast. Service over in the office was swift, business-like and pleasant. Food stores and cafes, even a big dollar store, were all within walking distance. And down the street is the famous outlet for the best cheese in the state. I had a great sleep here, for not many dollars, and plan to come back the next time I visit that great spot up the highway closer to the Mackinac bridge: the Cross in the Woods: see crossinthe woods dot com. (but that's a great story for another time).
