Exhaust fan in bathroom didn’t work. Carpets in hall and room need shampooing. Spot above desk on ceiling looks like it is about ready to fall down. Just needs TLC. The staff was very friendly and kind. And the lady that took care of the breakfast area was excellent and very kind.

Places in a very convenient location was OK for a quick overnight stay would not stay longer than that easy access. Do not like the fact when I check out, I have to just drop the key off at the front desk.

Parking lot was completely full of work trucks and workers milling in parking lot drinking beer and smoking cigarettes and marijuana, which was off-putting. Front desk clerk indicated they were workers staying in hotel who would be leaving early next day, and they preferred this activity outside vs. in the facility, with a laugh. I had to park across the street while lugging my bags across busy road. Lobby was clean and updated. Elevator was being redone and hallways were grimly and appeared old and very dated. Room was fine, bed comfortable. Breakfast included. Overnight was quiet. Housekeeping made attempt to gain access to my room at 9:45 am without knocking (checkout is 11 am) while I was in the bathroom, which was alarming. Thankfully I had it secured.

Had a surprisingly bad experience given how highly reviewed the hotel is. Check in lady was very nice given the late hour, but some weirdo followed me in then wandered off which with how run down Bay City is the door being open with zero security measure is a little surprising. Room was humid to the point everything was damp including the sheets which is a real gross feeling to sleep in. Shower was completely plugged up so showering resulted in standing in shin deep murky water. Manager at check out asked how my stay was, i told him and he seemed legit concerned, so i will say the management isnt bad. But also the stairwells and hall look like they havent seen a vacuum in a couple weeks so cleanliness is not a priority regardless of what they may believe. No bugs. This i appreciated. But im a pretty simple guest. I want a bed to sleep in, a hot shower, and coffee to take with me when i leave. All i got was the coffee. Would have been a 1 star but i gave a 2 because the staff were still good. Maybe i just got a bad room? It happens.

This was a nice inn. Nothing fancy. Clean. Quiet. There were a lot of people staying at the Inn and only one person working the kitchen, so when I went for breakfast, a number of options to eat were empty and it was difficult to ascertain when they would be replenished.

This property is getting old. The inside of the elevator looked like it was stripped in preparation for painting, but another guest said it had been like that for days. Breakfast only hot items were a waffle, polish sausage pieces, and a little folded over cheese omlet. Basic but mostly bread or cereal. Bed was very comfortable.
