We stayed at Rodeway Inn to attend Sacramento State's graduation at Golden One Center, which was an easy walk from the hotel. The room had everything we needed, free parking, free wifi, refrigerator, and the room was clean and quiet and in a convenient location. I love that the room had laminate flooring, so much cleaner than filthy carpet. However I did notice that the light switches were very dirty, and so was the room door all around the handle and locks. Otherwise, easy check in and check out and a good nights sleep both nights we were there, a Friday and Saturday night. Also included was a free continental breakfast, coffee and packaged-type pastries. Price was good for the area. I would stay again.
The area looks rough but the Inn and room was very nice. Friendly employee and continental breakfast. There are other choices on the same street but stopped here first and stayed. Market down the street. room had fridge and microwave. Only there for the night but would return.
Room was OK. Location for our Old Sacramento visit was excellent. Bring your own breakfast items. The motel has "pre-packaged" things in the lobby and no dining area. We ate out both mornings. Subway is within walking distance and had a very good breakfast.
First called to reserve room. Asked what time check out was. Was told 12pm. It was actually 11am and got a knock on the door and a call from the office. Luckily was already leaving anyway. Things that made me rate this as poor: Hotel only provided shampoo and a tiny bar of soap. Each person only had one towel for shower. Had a shower before bed, then in the morning, showered and towels that were hung to dry were still damp. No hot water in the morning for shower. Lukewarm at best with faucet turned all the way to hot. Brrrr! Breakfast is a joke. Only had coffee (powder creamer only), toast (no butter, only jam), and danishes. Fruit was only oranges and mandarines that looked like they were about a week old and about to go bad. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Beds have hollow metal bases so they make a lot of noise! A LOT of noise! Only thing I loved about this room, the lighted mirror! I want one in my house! Great for putting on make up!
Room was clean but requested king bed and only have queens. Staff not friendly at all and seemed irritated we asked for help. Glad we stayed only stayed one night. Parking is very tight and other guests would need to park behind cars. Had two rooms and each room smelled. Won't stay here again.
Carpet needed cleaning, bedding was stained. Wife & Mother felt the whole place needs a good cleaning. Trouble twice with the room key. (had to go to desk) Positives were it had a refrigerator, microwave, an coffee maker. Samsung T.V. worked well, although Ice maker was out of service. Staff was cordial.
Great Location near good restaurants and Old Town Sacramento. Vince's Motel & Restaurant on Harbor Blvd is a classic old-school Italian joint. Full bar & killer cannelloni. IKEA is nearby as is Jamie's prime rib bar/restaurant is a mile or so away on Broadway.
We arrived late and really should have just slept in the car. Their was wet paint in the bathroom which got all over my husbands shirt. We were going to leave but the guy at the desk said he would only charge us half price. That didn't happen! I now have a dispute open with my bank. I tried to call and work it out with them but now none of them speak English! The room was disgusting as well. Lots of dark brown hair in the bathroom drain. Cigarette burns in the blankets (it was a non smoking room). The phone was grimy and gross. The carpet awful, leave your socks on! My husband woke up with 3 bites on his back. I hope none of the bugs followed us home... Stay away!!!!
Subject: Rodeway Inn West Sacramento Location: West Sacramento, California, United States, North America Title: GROSS! ID#: 420580007 Desperate for a pet-friendly place and hoped for the best. Not only was this place gross, it seemed like they didn't even clean the room from the previous guests. Smelled like dog pee as soon as you opened the door. Wadded up used tissues on the counter in the bathroom, black mascara stains on the pillow cases. Soooo disgusting. Because we arrived late at night, were exhausted and the front desk guy was not friendly at all and seemed like we were inconveniencing him, we just said a prayer and hoped for the best. Save your money and just sleep in your car. :/
This trip was to visit Pacific Coast Leagues, and the Sacramento Grizzlies Raley Field is within walking distance to the hotel is why we chose this facility. They did not ask any questions when we were earlier than posted check in; the friendly desk clerk just seemed happy to see us! The hotel seemed full that night, but no noise. The king room was small, but had more furnishings than the top tier chain we stayed at the next night.
