Nice hotel, the staff is extremely helpful, competent and efficient. The atmosphere is very nice, taking into account Novotel is a hotel chain. In hotel chains the atmosphere and decoration can lack warmth or originality. This is not the case here. I really felt like spending time at the bar or the restaurant, which is atypical for me. The beds either have latex mattresses, or the top of the mattress is made of latex. Personally I like spring mattresses and I don't like latex mattresses, but my guess is that many people would find the mattress comfortable. Lucky for me, the sofa bed had a spring mattress which was firm enough without being uncomfortable. I also ordered the Dorade from the room service. It was OK, but I suspect that they do not cook things themselves but rather buy food from a company that delivers to restaurants and then they just heat things up (which is what many restaurants presently do, by the way). In any case, taking into account it is hotel food, it was fine. To sum up, I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Erasmus University, as it is only a couple of minutes away (on foot) from the campus.
Reviewed earlier and just needed to add to it. We stayed 4 nights and as mentioned the hotel is clean and bed comfortable. Restaurant was also very good and reasonable for dinner (too much for breakfast) Location was poor unless using for stop over trip as you needed to take metro (nice 10 min walk) to metro to get into the city. So location location Out of habit i always make my bed and hang the towels. When we came back to our room in 3rd day late with the exception of emptying garbage the room was not cleaned and towels still damp. Not impressed. When mentioned this when checking out they apologize and said i should have called down to have the room cleaned and fresh towels. After 9:30 at night !!
We booked and received a clean room with a good bed and shower and a hearty breakfast. Tick! Modern, free parking, all good. There are many other facilities, but as we checked in at 11pm and left at 10am, these were wasted on us.
Return visit to Rotterdam and this Hotel. I had to book an extra night upon arrival due to a change in my plans, and the staff managed to do this for me without any problems and with a smile. Great service, nice rooms and the restaurant & bar are worth a visit as well. I will certainly keep on coming back here.
To reach this hotel, I have to get off at the last tram station, then I have to walk as far as +/- 800m. Of course this is a challenge when the weather is bad. Fyi, although I already made payment through booking.com, upon arrival at the hotel, the receptionist still asked for my credit card to be swiped back. The hotel is clean enough, the rooms are also big enough, but lack of amenities (I think most hotels in europe like this)
The hotel is about a 30-40 minute walk from downtown, on teh edge of Erasmus campus. There is a good little convience store for snacks on campus (about 3-4 minutes' walk away) as well as some counter service places to eat and a starbucks. There is also a tram stop there for those who prefer not to walk downtown. The hotel itself is comfortable with quiet and well functioning air conditioning, comfortable beds and a very helpful and friendly staff. Snacks are sold onsite and there is an on site bar and resturant (all Pepsi prodcuts). There is a gated parking lot and parking is included in teh price for hotel guests. My only (minor) complaint is that there were not really enough elevators to handle peak times (busloads coming in at once) given that this is a 17 story building so just about everyone uses the elevators.
The hotel is really well located being just off the A16 and 7 minutes from the metro into Rotterdam. However no one told us that junction 25 and also 26 was off the motorway exit for junction 24, so we missed the exit first time around (this sort of motorway exit does not exist in UK). We were greeted at the desk and then I was asked for a card swipe to guarantee the tourist tax - even though I had paid in advance and checked in online. This apparently was because Accor systems all went down so the hotel did not have the pre-authorisation. Our room was happily on the top floor but the sliding door to the bathroom had come off its slider - I cannot understand how room servicing did not detect this.. Anyway as it could not be fixed we were moved to another room but but this took time. Every time we went to breakfast I had to sign that i would pay for it as we were shown as breakfast excluded even though I had paid in advance. Fortunately, Joelle on reception was absolutely fantastic. She sorted out all the problems one by one, gave us good advice on travel and places to see and really was exceptionally helpful. Without her it might have all gone very badly, but in the end, thanks to Joelle, we did really enjoy our stay and would visit again. I think perhaps we were unlucky with some of the problems, especially the Accor system downtime. Given its proximity to the motorway, this hotel has a pleasant location on the university/business park with nice walks and is really near to the metro so it's only half an hour to great restaurants and everything Rotterdam has to offer.
Very nice hotel. Located on ring road, nice view of Bridge. Spacious rooms, coffee Kettle with coffee and test sachets available as compliments. Bathroom spacious and partitioned. Happy to stay. View from the balcony is beautiful. Travel time to Indian restaurants is reasonable.
This hotel was recommended and booked by my business associates. This was ideally located as the office was literally next door.A metro station is at about 10 minutes distance which was convenient. I was in the executive room which was very comfortably furnished. The minibar had limited drinks and was complementary and was refreshed daily. The bed made sleeping easy and the room has a wonderful view of the nearby bridge. My request for a late checkout was granted which allowed me to spend additional time at the office prior to my flight. All in all it was a very good experience and the hotel offers excellent value for money.
Stayed here 3 nights early May as I was attending class at the MBA school next door. Check in and check out is efficient, free parking, nice bar, and a quiet large breakfast area. Room is clean, feels a bit empty in the hallway, and there is no night light or small reading light, when all switched off, is dark at once! Need taxi service to city center or walk to the subway station, taxi fare was about 20 euro to central station. Breakfast manager is very kind to welcome guests and ensure coffee is served properly. Food is basic European. The bar is nice to have some dronks after full day activities, good cocktails too. I would say I had to wait long for the elevator one morning due to big group going for breakfast, yes thus that is the only issue .... avoid big groups timing going for breakfast or check in if you can :) Recommended !
