Erasmus University booked this hotel for me. It is very close, so anyone who has business with the university should consider this Novotel. Very practical with and typical Novotel: responsive reception, easy check-in/check-out, limited breakfast but traditionally French. Clean room with a big comfortable bed. Bathroom has all the amenities of satisfactory quality. Good for business travelers or a short stay for tourists.
I have stayed at this hotel before; upon arrival, tables had stains from glasses/bottles previous guest on them, armrest of desk chair had multiple stains and floor plinth under window was dusty and dirty. Used the in-house Nespresso machine but the paper cups that I used were never replaced, despite leaving a new bottle of water right next to the dirty cups (had to go downstairs to get myself a proper coffee cup). Service was ok but they failed to notice that I had not used any of the free drinks (just took them out of fridge to create space for my own things), so they stocked up everything again. Christmas day I had lunch in hotel, ordered "kroketten" but cook did not realize he had to make 2 instead of the 1 that I was initially served.
I've got nothing but praise of this hotel. The room is very spacious. There is plenty of wardrobe space that's separated into two (for each person). Also provided is a bluetooth speaker that can be connected to your mobile phone or tablet for playing your favourite music. I found this to be amazing since it is very rare in my experience to provide this. It certainlly enabled a relaxing and moody stay at this hotel. The buffet breakfast was very good though I noticed that our tour group were segregated from the other guests and the food provided in our section was noticeably inferior. I'm not sure why they have this segregation policy, which is quite unfortunate.
Location: If you need a place to stay near Erasmus University then this is perfect. Room: spacious with well lit desk for working. Restaurant: good selection though they cam add variety or different dish each day. Stayed for 6 nights and breakfast just same each day. Staff: friendly and helpful
Very friendly staff at the hotel, especially reception who checked us in with a smile and lots of good info. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Would come back for sure. Free parking at the hotel and about a ten minute walk to the metro.
Great and attentive staff. Fast check in and check out. My complements to the Chef for such amazing food and great presentation. The food was absolutely delicious and breakfast was excellent. I am going to miss the coffee.
I tried to cancel my booking 10 days before the actual date but was not allowed to do so. You charged the full fee to my credit card. I tried to explained, asked for a personal conversation but you basically insisted that rules are rules. Nobody cared about my needs. Very disappointing. I tried to unsubscribe from your emails because the emails I receive are not relevant and became very annoying after I just lost so much money. This is not good customer service. Your terms and conditions should be reviewed. Your online booking system is also not very client friendly. I will try to stay in other places in Rotterdam going forward.
An average hotel with basic rooms that seem as likely to be "hosed down" as cleaned. The carpets, bathroom, bedding, and sofa all seem a bit dingy and on their last days. With some small upgrades and a deep clean this hotel would be just fine. As it currently is, however, I'd only recommend this hotel if you have business in the immediate vicinity. There are cheaper, better options that are more centrally located. The staff I encountered were all polite and accommodating. The bar/restaurant area is a notch newer and cleaner than the room I had. The breakfast options are quite expensive for such a basic hotel. If breakfast were bundled together with the room at a discount for early or frequent travelers, I'd be much more likely to eat at the restaurant. Barring that, there is a supermarket and a Starbucks near the hotel, both are better and cheaper options than the overpriced hotel continental breakfast. Online check-in and check-out are great options and helped me get in and out without hassle.
I would like to say that the hotel was excellent . Exactly what was need for the training course i was delivering there . The meeting room was perfect and the services , venue support and all needed for the course in my option were well provided . The food was and snacks provided was also of high standard . As I stayed the night the hotel room was clean and large exactly what is needed for a business hotel Mostly the staff of the hotel are commendable as they were very polite and willing to help with anything that may be needed Hope to visit again
