I don’t even know where to start listing the unsatisfactory things found at the hotel. The pictures on their website do not match what we found at the hotel. Grimy carpet in room, dilapidated furniture, worn out mattress, sticky tables in breakfast room, WiFi didn’t work, window extremely drafty, worn out chairs in room and worst of all THE HEAT DIDNT WORK in 32F / 0 C weather during a snow storm.
I’m still very upset with management and responsible for justifying with a unfortunate overbooking and mismatch the fact we’d reserved long time in advance (more than a month, we had a show in town) a regular room and we got a rat room, poor, microscopic 10 sqm , with 2sqm service not usable, dirty, broken and totally not hygienic, a bed for children. That was and remain in my opinion a robbery and dishonest behavior. They should have told us and show us before cashing the money. We left immediately the morning after, for a real hotel!!!
With a group of 24 we stayed one night here. Two people had to move from their room because of pests in their bed. Why this hotel is still open and active. This must be closed !! The only positive I can say about it is the location. Right in the middle of the busy Witte de With quarter with many restaurants and bars. Also not far from the shopping center Koopgoot. But if I may recommend; don't go there if you want a nice stay in Rotterdam. Chose another hotel !
I booked this hotel as it seemed ok for a one night stay, not expensive and in the centre, how wrong could i be, although we paid 90 euros including breakfast i think it is way overpriced, we paid but didn't stay and i wouldn't have stayed for free. Its in a time warp, dark depressing and in dire need of a complete face lift. Staff were friendly but also embarrassed at the state of the hotel, one staff member encouraged me to complain to the owner.
The best thing about this hotel is the friendly staff and easy access to public transportation and the city center. I've stayed at this hotel for the last six years because of the reasons mentioned above. This year I decided never to go there again until the owners invest money in upgrades and renovations. The hotel has the same old outdated and in some cases damaged furniture as it did when I first stayed there. I stayed on the fourth floor and could hear EVERY DOOR SLAM as customers went in and out!
What can I say? Coming from a place (in Europe) where hotellerie and generally hospitality is held in the greatest respect, I did not think such standards possible in this civil country. A look on the pics says more than 1000 words. They should close this place, please do not try your luck here.
Reasonable location, 20 minute walk from Rotterdam Centraal. Bed was comfy! Thats the end of the pluses. Small dingy room in urgent need of an upgrade. There was a large chunk out of the wall at the side of the bathroom door. Breakfast was buffet style and was average on day one, very poor on day two. Not worth the money!
The bed and the location was ok, nothing else were! Stay away, even if you only need a simple place to sleep. Small rooms and the cleaning could have been better. A lot of noice from both outside and neighbors. Very simple breakfast.
Last minute we booked this place near the Rotterdam center, it was well located and parking nearby but entering the room was a nightmare. It was not clean, there were even still cigarette buds laying under the bed, in a non smoking room.. The room utterly stinked, we stayed there as short as possible. The bathroom was horrible & unclean.. never again
I had to book in here at late notice, over 100 euro plus local tax. It's difficult to find on a dark back street. Ladies on their own would I'm certain be a little nervous. The whole place is incredibly tired and run down, felt dirty. The shower curtain was over two feet short at the bottom, consequently the bathroom flooded. Admittedly it was quiet, no street noise and the breakfast in the small dining room was quite good, buffet style and plenty of it. On street parking, to pay for up until nearly midnight.
