The property is in need of some renovation, however the staff are very friendly and obliging. The meals were very good and there were a number of options. The bar area and dining room with the open fire made it very homely. The environment looking out to the lake was very tranquil and relaxing. I really liked the property and the stay. I would definitely return for another stay.
Beautiful room with gorgeous lake views outside our door. Loved that I could have a soak in the bath whilst watching a movie, & the bathrobes were awesome too! The room was spacious & warm & met our needs perfectly. Buffet brekkie was satisfying with a great selection of hot & cold food available. Only suggestion I'd make is that bigger rubbish bins in the room would be helpful. Though the whole resort could benefit with a little upgrade, it's still nice as is.
Quiet, out of the way. They could be better at concierge service. They didn't promote their activities they offer or know much about sites to see and visit..
Beautify view of lake Rotoiti! a picturesque view with swans and ducks and various bird life. A wonderful thing to wake up in the morning!
I liked this hotel. Beautiful room. Some finishings a little tired, like the carpet. Same as at my mother's. Clean but not new. But who cares. Bathroom spotless. Nice bedding and towels. Cleaning lady perfect. Fridge. Kettle with many types of tea bags. Tons of plugs - note Aussie / NZ style so bring an adaptor. No one there when I arrived but key cards left at desk. Night guy came a few minutes later when I went back to front desk for wifi. Wifi setup complicated. But good when going. Lots of hotels make it difficult like this. I don't know why they do this - its done by geeks to annoy people like me at midnight - and I'm a geek so if it doesn't work for me who is it meant to work for? Your kids under 21 will have no problem setting it up for you I'm sure. Check out time is 10am. That's ridiculously early. This is not an army camp. But seems like this is normal in NZ. On holiday I like a leisurely breakfast and check out. Breakfast expensive in my book. But no doubt good. I got mine in town. The 10am checkout ensured that. Lovely lake view. Beautiful lawns and garden. My rate was excellent. So overall I vote a good thumbs up.
hotel seems past its prime, a bit rundown. no refills on necessities (tea, shampoo) second day.
Great view from the room! Would definitely stay again.
This is a pleasant hotel in a highly touristed area of New Zealand. The hotel is situated lakeside with a beautiful view of the lake. It seems to cater to weddings or special events. The hotel staff were friendly, prompt and oriented to providing good customer service. The primary issue is the cost per night which relative to other hotels in other highly desirable tourist designations in NZ seemed excessive. For the rates we paid, additional comforts should have been provided such as free unlimited wifi, inclusion of breakfast, more spacious rooms, and bathrooms with more amenities.
Sonny was excellent. Assisted with bags. Friendly. We would go back
