Stayed here for two nights en route from Wellington to Auckland for the final Lions Rugby test. Have to be honest I only picked it because it was cheap and looked okay. I was very surprised that it was very good quality, clean, modern and comfortable. The owner and his wife were a young Chinese couple very helpful and obliging. Even though I was travelling alone I was given a spacious two bedroom unit. If I had any complaint and it would be minor, there were only about 5 channels on the tv. About 30 minutes walk heading toward the lake is an excellent large shopping centre with all the major NZ stores, fast food etc. I would recommend this motel.
We had a great experience!! They offered us an upgrada for a better suite (a complete apartment) and the owners are very polite, was fantastic. The apartment was a lovely surprise!! We enjoy the city and the motel have a great location. The Wi-Fi was fantastic!!
I spent 2 nights with my girlfriend here and it was very confortable. Very clean and the owners are very good people. I recomend it. It's a very good balance between price and Quality. You have supermarket about 10 minutes walking. And 20 minutes from the city center Best regards
We spent the night here, it is well presented , clean and tidy and the price was good. It is handy to shops and activities in Rotorua. Some of the parking is tricky if you have a large car but it is off the street.
Good and bad here. But had to rate below average. Paid way too much as a person staying on their own. Next door was 30% cheaper. Bed comfortable with a new heat pump to keep you warm. Reception dude was friendly but sterile. Explained about TV channels that was very complicated. Only four sky channels!! Place is very tired looking. I hate the cheap toilet paper thing where it's off a roll like a public toilet. Shower cubicle was tiny with funny plastic doors. Tried cooking breakfast and element on stove had one speed: flat out! There was no fan to extract the burnt bacon smell and the smoke detectors were not working. Place was clean. Internet was good. But am sure you can do better in a very competitive market.
We were quite happy with this refuge in the rain. The rooms are big and clean. There is a whirlpool in the bathroom, the bed is comfortable and the kitchenette is fully equipped. Within 15 min walk one direction you are at supermarkets and 15 minutes the other way you reach Te Puia. It's 5 minutes by car or 30 mins walk to the center of Rotorua.
There was nothing wrong with this motel at all. The rooms are huge and spotless. The bed is comfortable, there is a spa in the bathroom and the kitchenette is fully equipped. It is a 15 min walk to supermarkets and 30 mins to the i-site in central Rotorua. It is also 15 min walk to Te Puia. The couple who run it were very friendly and extremely helpful. I can't thank them enough for helping me when I needed their assistance.
On arrival we were upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment which was 2 levels including a spa bath. The bathroom was huge. The wifi was super fast and strong. The beds were really comfortable, my husband said it was the best bed he had slept in on our month long holiday. Large kitchenette, dining room, lounge room with pull out sofa bed, balcony and access to the garden from the bottom bedroom as well. The Hotel is small, so not overcrowded with guests. Close to everything, 20 minute walk to shopping centre or 5 mins drive by car and convenient for going to the tourist attractions. Also, short drive to Eat Streat if you want to dine out. Aircon and Heating. Highly recommend this hotel. The staff are just wonderful, helpful, very friendly and welcoming, love our short stay here.
Nice room - split on 2 floors; big - but expensive. Also - if you stay for more than 1 night; unlike other places - they won't change your bedsheets/clean the room (why do we therefore pay full price?) When I asked; the lady seemed angry that I asked and said - it's in our book? Err - ok; but I can only read that after I've arrived! If I knew this; I wouldn't have booked here. Advice - VR Lakeside Resort - if you book through agoda.com; it's $130NZD. Much much better in everyway. The service is better; view is amazing; beds much more comfortable - and they clean your room - which is great especially if you have children.
Stayed here with my father when we returned to our home town for a soccer club reunion and we could not have had better service. We were well treated and would highly recommend. Paul and Marie were the best!!!
