Went with my boyfriend in Feb, lovely stay room had a fantastic view of the sea. 2nd floor last room at the end of the corridor. Restaurant food was delicious and breakfast was the same- Beautiful escape away to walk along beach eat great food and have a few g and t s at the bar chatting with locals and bar staff all night- was great from start to finish

Stayed in the Sandhouse Hotel and on a sunny day it is the most glorious setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful from the receptionist to the waiting staff and nothing is too much bother. The decor and furnishings are well used but the premises are clean. Bedroom well equipped with all the usual facilities although wi-fi is weak once you leave the main reaction areas. The Glasshouse restaurant overlooks the beach and the beautiful view is matched by the menu and the helpful and dedicated staff. The choice of meat and fish dishes are well presented and taste as good as they look with the sirloin steak, hake, sea-bass and salmon highly recommended.

As always this place was bunged on the Saturday before the 12th. Getting or usual table we were served quickly at the bar. Prices were set to make it easy for change. Sure the rest of the bars around were also bunged. Thanks.

Just home from a wonderful stay in The Sand House Hotel and truthfully I didn't want to go home. From we walked through the front doors till we left we were treated with excellent hospitality and care. The staff are very friendly and polite, food amazing and to a very high standard, rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The fire in the lobby was very comforting even on a July evening. Special thank you to Caroline at reception, she is excellent at her job and always had a smile to greet you. Well done to the Management and staff for a truly wonderful experience on The Wild Atlantic Way

The Sandhouse is on a streach of beach that is stunning. The hotel is reminiscent of an 1890's grand Dame from Atlantic City. It is run by a young, vibrant staff who incorporate modern amenities, i.e. an awsome pub area, with old world charm. There are numerous rooms hidden about that afford some quiet time. Breakfast is included and waitress served. Overall the experience was great!!!

We had a lovely overnight stay at the Sandhouse Hotel. The rooms are older in style but very nice and cosy. The dinner and breakfast were both delicious served in the Glasshouse Restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach and sea. I had a seaweed bath in the lovely Marine Spa which was so relaxing and good value for money and walks on the beautiful beach just add to the experience.

This hotel has been sympathetically updated recently, without losing the charm of a traditional hotel. The location, right on a huge beach, is just amazing, and with good weather (which we got), it's just fantastic! The rooms are large and comfortable, and all have a sea-view, and the restaurant is excellent again with great views. Very highly recommended!

The rooms in this hotel are comfortable but a little frayed around the edges. We booked one of the more expensive rooms with views over the sea and enjoyed sitting in the window and watching the waves. The shower in the room could do with an upgrade as could the hotel spa. I had an out of this world massage there but was't enticed to sit in the jacuzzi. What makes this hotel special is the understated atmosphere and service, and the location right on the beach- perfect for long walks. Look forward to returning!

We had a great experience here in this hotel at the start of a trip to Donegal. It was quite old fashioned but I really enjoyed the night here. The staff were very friendly and the room was spotless . The bar was very quiet. We went for a lovely stroll along the beach and the views were stunning from the rooms. Extremely relaxing stay. Thanks .

Nice friendly place with a spa service located off the main hotel area. Breakfast is waiter service so none of those dreadful queues. The tablecloths are real linen giving a sense of times past. Plenty to choose for breakfast like poached eggs, kippers, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, porridge, cream and fab honey. Real tea with leaves is served in individual teapots! Dinner is good. It is traditional fare with pricing based on selecting a la carte courses. Roast lamb with gravy, salmon, turkey etc. The wine list is reasonably priced. The view from the traditional dining room located at the rear of the hotel is spectacular. The staff are exceptionally friendly and they engage with guests. Access to the beach is easy as the hotel is located right on the beach. There is a relief car park which is needed as the main hotel car park is small. The hotel does its best to ensure good access to Wifi however on this visit it was flaky. There are routers located in every corner to try to boost the signal. The bedroom overlooked the beach and the room itself was large. The lift provides access to three levels. Overall would recommend the Sandhouse for lots of beach walks and RandR.
