Me and my partner went here in January as I won a nights stay here in a competition on Facebook. The castle is just outstanding! Couldn't fault the spa. Room was gorgeous and staff were very helpful. We had one of the most amazing breakfasts at this hotel, the fresh pancakes were a great touch! The only problems I had was how hot the room was at night I woke quite a bit during the night and the shower door because it was glass wouldn't sit in the correct place and would come in very close to you while having a shower but these issues would never put me off staying again. Highly recommended!!

Went to this wonderful hotel for the first time on Thursday. What a fantastic time we had.Much to short we will definitely be back. From the minute we arrived in the grounds we were greeted by the wonderful staff. The hotel is really lovely and our room was great size and beautifully furnished . We felt very much at home exploring the hotel. Our meal in the restaurant was one of the best we ever had, made extra special by our lovely waiter Chris, who is an absolute asset to the hotel. The evening continued with drinks in the bar and a great nights sleep. Waking up to snow was an added bonus .beautiful breakfast and a winters walk completed our memorable stay. Thanks to all the staff at lough eske castle .cant wait to book another longer stay.

I have stayed at Lough Eske several times in the past, so on this occasion I decided to bring my beloved dog along for an overnight stay to relax and unwind. I called reception before booking online and the girl I spoke to advised I needed to book a courtyard room, which is pet friendly. When we arrived for check in, I advised I had my dog with me and the hotel was not aware. But they swiftly changed our room and advised I needed to email in advance, as not all courtyard rooms were pet friendly. (Noted for future reference) The courtyard rooms have lovely underfloor heating with a big comfy bed and are very spacious. There was a dog bed, bowls and little treats left for my dog as a welcome gift. You can avail of a dog sitter for €15 per hour, but we did not use this service. We took advantage of the lovely grounds for a nice walk and then had dinner in the gallery bar, which is slightly less formal. The lollipop cheesecake was definitely my highlight. Hats off to the chef! As usual the staff are so friendly and very attentive. There was a slight hick up with the heating in our room, but it was handled professionally and with courtesy. I always look forward to the breakfast at Lough Eske, it is second to none. The options and variety are wonderful. I always find myself comparing breakfasts when I visit other hotels and to date nothing beats Lough Eske. Each time I visit, I fall more and more in love with this place and I cannot wait to return in the near future. It really is a little piece of heaven. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay lovely and relaxing.

Brought my girlfriend to Donegal for the first time for a early Valentines.. Omg this place is gorgerous and staff are great and friendly. Stars on a hotel wouldn't come close to this place blew my mind. I usually stay in haverys point round the lough but couldnt get dates. But omg my new favourite.. For people who dont know what omg stands for.. ooh my god..

Everything was just perfect in this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was outstanding and the portions are not too small. The exterior of the hotel is breathtaking, a beautiful old castle and great for photographs. Overall a 10/10 luxury experience we will go again.

Came here for a few days to relax and unwind and could not have chosen a better location. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The staff were excellent. We found them to be so friendly and attentive. Tom the door man was excellent at recommending local walks around the Castle in the morning. Afterwards we returned for lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing on comfortable sofas in front of an open fire. We found the food to be excellent. There was a great variety. We dined in both Cedars Restaurant and also the less formal Gallery Bar. Both were of a high standard. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, I especially recommend the chowder and the steaks. The rooms themselves were really comfortable and very spacious. All in all it was the prefect getaway to rewind and recharge our batteries. Can't wait to come back in summer and experience this hidden gem at a different time of year.

We arrived on 29 January for 3 nights. It’s a five star venue with all the five star trappings. Room was impeccable - such a comfortable bed wth beautiful linen, robes, slippers & oodles of good quality bathroom products which were replenished every day. Amazing array of breakfast food - all cooked & served to perfection ( with complimentary newspapers!). AND served til 11 am! But what really makes this worthy of its five star rating is its staff - they are without doubt, the most welcoming, friendly , courteous , helpful & professional staff we’ve ever encountered . Congratulations to Lough Eske for handpicking & training this incredible & remarkable bunch of people - make sure you reward them accordingly & hold on to them! We truly loved our stay & can’t thank you enough for making our visit so special. Donegal is an amazing county with outstanding scenery - breathtaking! Everybody we met was so incredibly friendly & chatty. A visit & a stay in Lough Eske is a must - book today!

our annual visit was amazing as usual. little slice of heaven staying here. room was 5 star comfort with lots of little touches like macaroons and chocolate strawberries. dinner was delicious and cocktails are perfect. love the place.

My wife and I spent a night at this hotel, we were greeted at the door and shown to reception . Very friendly staff . The room was really lovely , and a very comfortable bed, and could not be improved . We did not eat dinner in the hotel but we had breakfast and it was 5 star, from the smoked salmon , orange juice with bits, milky porridge , followed by an Ulster fry with potato bread, first class 10/10. Would highly recommend. Nice uniforms , Donegal tweed.
