Staff was very friendly but would not allow us to check in a little early. We arrived earlier than planned and had to wait 5 hours, until 3:00 pm to get into our room

all the facilities are outstanding. The staff very friendly. The restaurant fantastic.

Charming former convent beautifully converted to a gracious, comfortable retreat just steps away from the bustling center of Trastevere. Garden courtyard, rooftop view.

ממש מומלץ, מלון במקום מנזר אתיק, בלב שכונה הכי יפה ביום ותוססת בלילה

When we told the taxi driver at the airport in Rome that we should lodge in the VOI Donna Camilla Savelli Hotel, he looked at us and made a surprised face and said: the best hotel in Rome !!! The hotel is beautiful, wonderful and pristine, the buiding was a seminar with its own marvelous chapel, this hotel is a very romantic dream. The service from the people working there was The Best. It is located in Trastevere, This area is divine !!!

It is old hotel, but if you love to stay at antique hotel, this hotel is the right hotel for you. Little bit far from downtown, but still great town around the hotel!

We enjoyed our stay in every way. Although the hotel is across the river, the major attractions are within walking distance and the small restaurants near the hotel are great. Our room was reasonably large, well appointed, and perfectly clean. The huge tub was welcome after a long day. The staff was courteous and the breakfast was terrific. We visited in March, when the weather was perfect, lines at the attractions short, and the prices low.

Gorgeous building, with great grounds and a very attentive staff. The breakfast was much better than you would normally get for the price of the hotel. Our room's decor was a bit tacky though, which is strange given how nice the rest of the hotel is. The Trastevere neighborhood is great for food, drinks and meandering. Try the oddly-named "Bar Good" right down the street for a drink and excellent people watching. Walk across Ponte Sisto for another fun late-night neighborhood.

June 2011-Big, Big problem in finding the hotel at night in spite of repeat calls to hotel desk (he didn't understand our questions or how to direct us and we were sitting practically right on top of the hotel, but didn't know it!!!!) It took us 3 hours to find hotel. Finally after searching for an hour with locals who spoke Italian(they couldn't find it either, we finally found the hotel). Garmin was no help and neither was detailed map of Trastevere. We were exhausted to say the least! Unfortunately, by the time we found the hotel no eateries were open to grab a bite to eat so we had to wait until breakfast. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely. Breakfast is wonderful in the garden!!! This is a very quiet out of the way hotel, away from all the tourist attractions in Trastevere-lovely neighborhood! Language was a barrier though. They struggled with English.

This hotel is an amazing hotel in Trastevere. It's a converted convent and they did a spectacular job with it. Breakfast is in the courtyard each morning, and was by far the best one we had during our trip. The room had an incredibly comfortable king bed and a great soaking tub. The hidden gem is the rooftop deck that overlooks all of Trastevere. Stay here!

This property is all that it claims to be. It is nestled on top of a hill in the quaint, picturesque Trastevere neighborhood of Rome-- close enough to the attractions but far enough removed to relax and soak it all in. Plus, the hotel has a gorgeous courtyard garden with a breath-taking view of the city. Additionally, the rooms are spacious with luxurious bathrooms and plush beds. And as if the accommodations weren't enough, the breakfast buffet is fit for a queen-- remarkable. Worth every euro;)

Perfect location for sightseeing and dining. Surprisingly quiet for an urban location. The converted baroque cloister offers a variety of rooms in terms of size and location towards courtyard/ garden/ street. For enjoying the special quality of this historic hotel taking a "superior" room may be advisable. Excellent breakfast buffet served in both hallway and lovely garden. Information about facilities could be improved. There is an expensive third party network in the room. The fact of free wifi in the hallway was not documented, and only mentioned at our departure. There was no closer description of facilties in the room.

The hotel staff is wonderful and helpful. Everything was in order. The location is convenient walking distance to many Roman sites and the neighborhood is upscale and full of local restaurants.

We loved this hotel for two reasons. First, the breakfast spread was great. They offer many more options than the typical "free" breakfast. Second, it was in a great location in Trastevere which is the quaint neighbor of Rome. There's also a great restaurant really close called Antico Pesa. The negatives were the price, the front desk staff was helpful but not the most friendly, and they have internet in the rooms but it's wired and not free (It's about 12 euros for 24 hours).

A first rate hotel in a beautifully restored former convent, designed by the great Francesco Borromini. A luxurious, restful and gracious hotel, seamlessly integrated within a highly characteristic work of this Baroque master. A thrill for any lover of Roman art history... or just anyone seeking a fabulous hotel experience. Can't beat the location: right at the bottom of the Janiculum, with its stunning views of the city, and within a block or two of the best restaurants in the very trendy (and authentically Roman) Trastevere. I used to stay at a more expensive hotel right next to the Pantheon. From now, on, I'll stay at Donna Camilla Sevelli.
