My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was our first visit to Rome, and we found Trastevere charming and our room very comfortable. I want to point out as others have done that there are very steep stairs and no elevator here. Not a problem for a couple of sturdy New Yorkers but it might be a problem for some. Claudia was most helpful in carrying our bags up the stairs. I suggest calling Claudia on your way to the place so that you're sure to be met in person because it's a little intimidating to arrive to a locked door with no doorbell! But all in all, we DID love our room and our stay here.
We are currently here in the michleangelo suite for 3 days. Bathroom door is broken and won't close, so it swings open if you don't hold it. Let owner know yesterday, was told it would be fixed today, still waiting, and I've been calling and sending emails to owners all day with no reply. There's Mold in shower, Air conditioner stopped working, and today was 100 degrees in Rome. Not good. Lucky for us I was able to locate the Fuse Box to reset the switch after an hour. will not be returning here, that's for sure. Maybe the owner will get back to me Now??
Three nights in Rome this time, and the Luxury Trastevere proved to be a lucky choice. It had an authentic feeling of a Roman house, and although the stairs were a challenge to poor knees, it was worth it. The location is perfect, close to restaurants that have now become favourites of ours. Softer beds wouldn't go amiss, but everything else was very good.
My wife and I stayed there for four nights. This hotel will give you an authentic Roman house feeling. I mean literaly! Including the stairs to enter the hotel. This is the only setback, if you cant go up the stairs regularly dont book this hotel. Other than this the hotel is beatiful and in the perfect spot. When you go out you will be close to Restaurants, Cafe's, Shops, churches etc. Recommendation: book the transportation in advance with them. The Taxi service in Rome is not as good as in other countries we visited. They left us like 10 minutes away because supposely they couldnt enter to Trastavere. We later discover this was a lie. To go back to the airport we decided to book through Claudia the transportation and for a couple Euros more the service went right in front of our door. Claudia thanks so much!
In the middle if trastevere with many good restaurants and bars Service is good problem with hot water solved after sms But Cleaning not very good Shower lot of mold in corner and curtains for instance dirty Beds very hard
I highly recommend this place!it is not the most spacious room I have ever seen, but the location is really nice and sleeping in an authentic Roman house, very well preserved and managed carefully in all details is just priceless!
First they told us we didn't have a reservation, even though we had already paid and had a confirmation from hotels.com. When I insisted that they look at my email confirmation, they finally.... after 30 minutes sweating in the July heat mid day in Rome.... they finally gave us our room. Then the air conditioning didn't work - in 24 hours it never got below 80 degrees fahrenheit (27 degrees celsius) and made for a very bad nights sleep - or lack thereof. I called them at 9:45pm to tell them it didn't work and ask for a fan. They said they'd deliver a fan the next morning. We never saw them again and we had to pay another hotel that night since we couldn't sleep without air conditioning. They also didn't give me my change for paying the hotel tax in cash, nor did I get a receipt. Very very bad people managing this hotel. Stay far far away from this one, folks!
Exactly as described, a luxury B&B in a great location in trendy Trastevere. The room was perfect for our needs and breakfast was included at local cafes. The location was perfect for exploring Rome and very near to some fantastic places to eat. Highly recommend. Thanks :-)
This is not a hotel. You may be okay with that, but you should know it upfront. There is no front desk, and therefore no one to help you most of the time. It's up a two-story narrow staircase. (I live in third-story walk-up, so I'm used to carrying my suitcase up and down.) There is no landing at the top to balance your suitcase when you are going in or out. Moreover, it's a bit unnerving every time you have to use the stairs as you can't tell if anyone is there. (Single women, you know what I'm talking about.) Bonus points for free sparkling and flat water and espresso machine with free pods in the common area; there is also a tea kettle, which must be a change since some of the other reviews), but only disposable plastic cups to pour the nearly boiling water into. The location is totally open to interpretation. It's loud, but not unreasonably so, especially with the windows closed. It's right in the middle of busy Trastevere, with tourist restaurants, bars and street vendors all around. I felt completely comfortable walking alone there at night but would have preferred an area with more personality. The room itself is nice, though not as elegant nor dramatic as in the pictures. There's enough space, but it's not laid it well so it's hard to get around the bed. The closet is huge for a hotel. The bathroom is nice but oddly does not have a bidet or something to use instead (the only hotel of 9 I stayed in on my trip to Italy that did not). Real a/c that you can control yourself, which is fantastic and not very common. It's actually the same unit built into my apartment in Brooklyn. When I left, there was someone working there, as another party had just arrived. I asked her to call me a taxi, but she couldn't locate one. When this did not work, she was completely unhelpful - most notably failing to tell me there is a taxi stand a few blocks away that I ended up finding myself. I know Italy is not the most service-oriented society, but it's always annoying to leave on a bad note.
Great luxurious hotel fantastic location with friendly helpful staff and perfect location for the beautiful food and wine of Rome. The real Rome where the Italians go for a night out . Very close to all the sites without the cost of being right next to them.
