Quiet street and walking distance to almost everything (Coliseum, Trevi Fountain and many monuments). Staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small but we were only there to sleep. We also used the hotel's car service to/from the airport and they were prompt and cordial.
Lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and just what you need for a short stay. Close enough to major sites and train station. Breakfast adequate and keeps you going until lunch. Staff were really helpful and even printed off information we needed.
This hotel is in a secondery position but so handy for all the usal sites , The hotel is comfortable clean and well run , has a lift, we stayed on the third floor and didnt have any issues, The hotel only serves breakfast which is buffet style (dont care for the scrambald egg much) but the breakfast in general is very good , served in two dinning areas . tea coffee ect is by way of self service machines.Front desk is very helpfull and nothing is to much bother. They will arrange transerfers for you to or from the airports or cruise ports.
Booked this hotel primarily for the location and budget. The rooms being clean and comfortable were also a priority. Service at front desk was friendly and the staff in the breakfast room were kind as well. We always asked for ice upon retiring for the evening and we were accommodated with a smile as well as when we asked for an iron and ironing board to use. The only con was our specific room. We had a triple room on the 1st floor. Just past the front desk. Though in a quiet little corner and separated from the lobby via a door, the door creaked really badly and loudly and so it woke us up all the time. Secondly our room was very crammed and the layout was horrible. The shower door didn't even open fully it kept hitting the bidet and we are not large people but had to turn sideways just to get in and out. For example i could help my small child shower cause there wasn't any room for me to stand in front and face the shower and help her. The closet didn't have any room to open the doors so we couldn't even open it to put anything inside. There was no room for 3 suitcases in a triple room. Only one suitcase so we had to stack all 3. Finally the carpets looked like they had never been cleaned in ages. Our feet would turn black after coming out of the shower. So I recommend bringing slippers. The pics of other rooms left by travellers looked better than ours so just ask for a room on another floor than the 1st. Overall the beds and linens were clean just not the floor. I know rooms in Europe are small. It was the layout of the furniture that was the problem. Our room should not have been a triple room. Wifi was strong and the breakfast was adequate. Scrambled eggs and bacon, toast, pastries, cereal, juice, pancakes, various spreads, fruit, yoghurt,
Nice, comfortable, affordable hotel in Quirinale district. It was close enough to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Pantheon, yet far enough to be in a more peaceful area. We enjoyed the walks to and from the sights. Our room was big. Our two kids had a room practically separate from ours. Most afternoons included a trip back to the hotel for an afternoon nap. The free breakfast was great. We want to say a special word of thanks to Emanuel and Antonio. All the hotel staff were wonderful. They were very happy to help us with things like arranging taxis, printing tickets, recommendations and so on. Grazie H. V!
Hotel is well located - downtown & quiet place, about 15 - 18 minute walk to Rome Termini train station & to Colosseum; about 10 minute walk to a closest metro station where you can take the train to Vatican. The complimentary breakfast is good. Some local restaurants are nearby. The staff is friendly & helpful: gave suggestions about visits, local restaurants & helped to fix (shower) drain issue. However the room is quite small & the air condition didn't work: it was so hot in the room that we had to keep the window open.
Hotel Virgilio is an old, average hotel in a old neighbourhood (as most neighbourhoods are in Rome). It is clean and comfortable and the front desk attendant is friendly and helpful. The shower is only 2 feet by 2 feet square so not for large people. The location is close to public transportation and close to many tourist icons by walking. There are many street restaurants nearby and a major shopping street a block away. We would return to this hotel.
Went to Rome recently to visit the usual attractions, Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain Spanish Steps etc etc Chose this Hotel via Booking.Com. This hotel is ideally suited to visit all these attractions and all within twenty minutes or so. Its a three star rated hotel which is about right. Beds were comfortable which is needed after walking most of the day !! The bathroom however needed upgrading. Shower door didnt close properly Poor flow from shower and no complementary products in the bathroom. However the towels were large and soft. Room furniture was very dated but there was a safe in the room. Breakfast very good. It was as you would expect continental style but plenty of choice. There was a small selection of hot items .Lift to all floors. Staff in Reception area were very helpful as were all the staff . This hotel is ideally suited for those visiting Rome. It is clean, friendly and good value for money. Recommended for the price. N.B. Believed i had left wallet in room safe when we left hotel. Only noticed it was missing at airport !!!!!! Sent e-mail to hotel asking could they search room hoping that was where my wallet was !! When got back to UK had an e-mail to say they had in fact found it in the room safe. They sent wallet back by Courier !!! Still had the cash that was in wallet as well as all my credit cards etc. Now you cant beat that !!!!!!! Was very very grateful.
It's a 3 star hotel with a good breakfast and great location. You can walk to almost every interest points in town and find very good restaurants, cafés and supermarkets around. Staff is very friendly and is comfortable enough for a pleasant stay in Rome.
The hotel is perfectly located, all the main attractions, restaurants and stores are within walking distance The staff were approachable The breakfast spread was acceptable The room and bathroom were small but clean Considering the location , this is defiantly an option worth considering. However if space matters to you than you might want to consider other options
