We Finns like sauna, but with hotels we like fresh, clean and cool. This hotel was not that. It was unpleasently hot inside. Luckily windows in hotel room were openable. Why in 4 star hotel airconditioning is missing? Shower was terrible and smelled (water damage?). Hotel is old and needs to be brought to this decade. In addition, breakfast was poor.
I booked 2 rooms in the hotel for a 4-night stay. First, the good side: Quite neighborhood, secure surroundings, nice and full breakfast and clean rooms, staff was helpful and accommodating. Now, the negative side: Weak wifi, no coffee maker/hot water and tea in the room. I had to order one from the bar and was charged 3 euros. The bathroom did not have the basic caddies where you could place the shower bottles and soap bars while taking a shower. Considering that this is rated as a 4-star hotel, I was expecting that it would provide its guests with basic amenities that are normally being provided by hotels of this stature. In Japan, even a 3-star hotel provides its guests with basic toiletries like disposable shaves, toothbrush and even bathroom slippers. I can't understand why this hotel does not provide even just an electric kettle in the room for coffee and tea drinkers. Too much scrimping on the budget. Worse, there was no airconditioning and it was humid during the night. Overall, however, it's a good hotel but should be rated just as a 3-star and not 4-star hotel.
For first trip to Rome we picked this hotel and did not regret it, very nice hotel in quiet part of the city. To visit the center you need to take taxi or bus/tram, but it was very easy to do it, especially if you had pass for public transportation which is frequent and quite good, usual time to get there was about 20 minutes. Upon arrival we were upgraded to junior suite which was modern, clean and very comfortable, so our trip started perfectly, great value for money. Although we did not spent much time in hotel, the staff was friendly, breakfast was very good and overall I would come back and recommend the hotel.
We stayed here for a two nights on a Euro tour. The rooms are clean and tidy, have air con and good wifi reception. The only downside is that the location is far away from everything. The bar has limited food - only sandwiches and cold cuts and when we asked no one could give us suggestions for food that was close by which was frustrating because most shops are closed on a Sunday. Even the service station and supermarket closed after 12pm on Sunday which is great for the locals but gives limited options for tourists.
Attended as part of a tour group, our rooms & keys were ready upon arrival. I had taken a fall earlier during the day & the tour director was concerned about the suitability of my room, the hotel gave her passes to several other rooms, a handicap room was selected. The room was clean; the bed was clean & comfortable. The ensuite was large & clean. The room was quiet & the air conditioning functional. The Wi-Fi was free & strong. The staff were friendly & helpful. They have a restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating; they had a good choice on the menu & was a good experience. I would certainly stay here again.
Location of the hotel is poor: To see Rome you have to go by Bus, Tram and Metro. Rooms in new part of the building OK, in the old part could be improved. Service at the bar could be better, especially at late evening. Food (Restaurant) is disgusting. It is unbelievebel, how a 4-star-hotel can serve such a food!!!
Second time for me in this hotel. Breakfast could me better but apart from that excellent hotel. They have great suites brand new To visit Rome this is a great location even if not in the center of town.
We went often for work, and always their kindness struck a point. Kitchen is available also outside normal hours, staff is happy to accomodate clients' requests, it's got a nice space open air to enjoy Rome's sun and a big parking space.
A very elegant hotel in Rome. Placed in a good neiborhood of Rome. Far away from the tourist center, but a relaxing place. And great food in the restaurant! Taste the burger, is one of the beat in the world!
The hotel got a 4-star rating by some tragic mistake. Rooms are old and outdated. The breakfast is basic. Half of the rooms are not possible to use as they face the inner yard where the ventilation system works - it sounds as a jet on take-off. Cleaning staff woke me up at 8 in the morning by bumping into the wall loudly with regular intervals. Therefore I asked the reception for later check-out to get some sleep. My request was generally rejected with the motivation that the hotel is "fully booked" and "all the staff is very busy". Of course none of these were true - the hotel was literally empty and the staff including the reception clerk were spending time drinking coffee and chatting in the back room when I came to check out. Actually the reception staff - especially an important middle-age man there - is the worst part. He talks to customers as if they owe him a large sum of money or he is some sort of a police officer interrogating a criminal. I suggest that if hotel owners are interested in improving their hotel they should fire that person first thing.
