After a lot of research I chose Hotel Tiber. While doing the research it seemed like the choices near the airport were poor. After seeing the area my assumptions were confirmed. Most hotels are on a narrow strip that gets exceedingly crowded and hard to get in and out of. The nice part about Hotel Tiber is it's away from this strip. The hotel overlooks a shipping harbor. This is not to say that it's a beautiful view, but it's not bad. They room and hotel were both clean and well maintained. We were happy that we could catch a shuttle to the airport for a small fee. Just be sure to reserve your shuttle time as the shuttle gets filled up quickly and there's a lot of traffic to the airport. Food is expensive in the area unless you're interested in some of the little shops along the stip with limited choices. Our biggest grievance was the noise. We had an early morning flight on a Sunday and Saturday night they had a party in the restaurant below that seemed to go on forever with pulsating music. Not the best for trying to sleep. Even before the music began we noticed that every time someone moves a chair around in another room (which seems to happen a lot) you hear the sound. Quite annoying. The hotel should consider putting something on the chair legs to minimize the noise. Overall I do think Hotel Tiber is one of your best choices near the airport.

The linens were clean and the towels were good. That’s about it. The room was beat up, lamps broken, pictures crooked and broken, broken g gouges in the walls, curtains dirty, vent absolutely filthy. Bathroom smelled of sewage. The restaurant was barely acceptable. We immediately tried to find another location even though it was just for one night. Unfortunately nothing was available. If you need a hotel near the airport try the Hilton at the airport or something further away. Even if you have to get up earlier for your flight you will thank me. We spoke to another couple who were sitting in the lobby as to not have to be in their gross room any longer than absolutely necessary. Avoid this hotel if you’re looking for anything comparable to a Laquinta. It doesn’t even come close.

Not an airport hotel. It was a 15 minute /$50 Uber drive (we didn’t book the shuttle 24 hours in advance, but that would have been only €7pp). And the amenities listed (like the gym and sauna and even the pool in the summer) all require you to pay to use. The salad delivered by room service had no salad dressing. Overall, not the relaxing pre-flight stay I had hoped for.
