Hotel Rome Garden

We booked this hotel, but they were full. So they sent us to a sister hotel with no parking in a worse part of the city... so maybe call ahead and make sure they are full.

If you're a westerner that's used to big chain hotels... Marriott, Crown Plaza, Embassy Suites, etc... you will have to adjust your thinking a little. I am the most scornful person on earth, but even I liked this hotel. The room was super clean, and the staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Sal and Paulo!! Those guys felt like family. The breakfast was also good enough (clean and what you would get from complimentary breakfast at Comfort Inn). It's down the street from the bus stop (1 minute walk). It's also about 10 minutes from the city center by bus. I would suggest you buy a 3-day Roma pass so that you could get unlimited bus, train, and 2 museums included all for under $40 USD. If you have any hesitation, I'm telling you right now that you shouldn't. Go ahead and book this hotel now. I would absolutely stay here again.

VERY WELL LOCATED, SLIGHLY SLOW INTERNET, BUT VERY NICE ROMANTIC HOTEL. WENT FOR A PART OF OUR HONEY MOON. BED WAS NOT THE BEST.

That guy at the desk looked like. He's rude and had words with some of the guests. We felt like we were bothering him at asking basic questions. My breakfast was good but the place is a 15 min bus ride away from a lot of it. Plan ahead they are not helpful here on where to go. Don't go to the prizza place they say, we were hustled on a dessert that we thought it was free. The rooms very clean

Did not have a single night's rest due to the noise from the street, from the staff, from other guests at the hotel. The first night we were greeted by a very rude man - thank God he was not there the rest of our stay - we saw him again on the day we left. The breakfast was nothing special and there was nothing else provided by the hotel. Even the sitting area in the so called "garden" was dismantled at the end of the breakfast and there wasn't even a place to sit outside after breakfast was over. There are many many options and this is not the best one. Not a convenient location either - do not believe that it is within walking distance to anything - IT IS NOT! Bus + Metro for most places and then a 4 block walk after you get off the bus to get to the hotel. The room was clean - that was the ONLY PLUS.

Hotel in located in a restored villa surrounded by gardens. The main advantage is that it's close to the center and several buses stop about a 3 minute walk from it. Breakfast was full of choices and we ate it out in the garden. Room was big enough and so was our modern bath. We'll be back !!!

The hotel is very charming with a beautiful garde. Breakfast was very good to get you started for our long visiting days. The staf was very nice and very helpful when providing information. The combination of price and location is very good; there is no need for paying more at a so-called better location; there is a bus stop a block from the hotel where you can catch buses to all the important points within the city. If we return, we would not hesitate in repeating this hotel.

Liked the area for this hotel. Just a little outside the hustle and bustle but walkable to a lot. The room was tiny with not much light coming in, although the bathroom was good size. The building looked very old and impressive. The staff was super. The breakfast was decent, although I'm not a breakfast eater. The garden aspect was very nice with lots of greenery and gave the impression of being out of the city. I would stay again but ask for a bigger room. I think I was given their smallest room because I was a single.

Very nice hotel. Quite, charming and relaxing. It is a little bit away from town, so a cab is necessary for almost everything. There are only two so so restaurants near it. There is nothing else to see or do in the immediate vacinity. The room is comfortable and clean. Basic but nice. The bathroom was really tiny. If you are a larger person, the bathroom will be a challenge. There was no room to move around, no counters, and the shower stall is minimal. For the price, it was a good deal. No frills, though.

This trip was well organized and the reservations and trip went off without a hitch. It would be nice if Orbitz had an easier way of changing reservations, though. The Hotel Rome Garden. A nice 3 star hotel with very good service and concierge. About 2 blocks from the bus line, which connected to everything in the city. The hotel did not have any WiFi service, and they announced on our arrival that it would be a while before they would have this.

The service at the reception area was fantastic! The breakfast and coffee were just right and the rooms were clean. I will definitely return to the Rome Garden.
