We have had such a special time. My thanks to all the staff who have helped with calling to confirm reservations, taxis, directions and bowls of ice! ( my husband injured his knee a few days before arriving and was on crutches) Our room although small was clean and the bed made up every day and the bathroom cleaned too. Fruit on arrival and a lovely continental breakfast every day. The location of this hotel is amazing....the Trevi fountain, Spanish steps and Piazzan Navona and the Pantheon are just 5-10 mins walk away as well as easy access to the Metro and bus links. I wouldn't say this is a 4 star hotel purely because it isn't luxurious however this isn't a criticism just fact. I would stay again without hesitation. Thank you
Hotel is very well located. Very near the Trevi Fountains, The Spanish Steps and The Pantheon. The Barbereni metro station is a five minute walk. Very wide choice of restaurants nearby. The room was good and big and the toilet was also okay. Breakfast was included in our package and was okay. The staff was friendly and helped us out with suggestions.
My finance and I are in the process of planning our honeymoon in Italy. It will be both of our first times there. I booked a reservation via Priceline for this hotel. Within 5 minutes, I realized I had totally made a mistake and 1) booked this as a non-cancellable reservation and 2) needed to book for a different date. Upon realizing my mistake I tried cancelling this reservation and was told that wouldn't happen until the manager returned to the hotel. It was a Saturday, and I was told the manager would be returning on Monday. I called on Monday, and found out the manager would not be returning until the FOLLOWING Monday. I called again this week, and was told my request to cancel had been rejected by the manager, I totally understand the policies that exist when booking through third parties, so I'm at fault for this. I have just never had a situation where 1) you can't reach a manager or someone who is authorized to make a decision for almost two weeks. and 2) considering the circumstances, they would not be flexible and helpful to either grant me a request to cancel, or even possibly to modify travel dates. My finance and I will probably just absorb the loss of $400 and book with a different hotel. I just thought I would share this experience, since the rigidness of the hotel when it came to helping in this situation makes me wonder about the quality and if this really is a "4- star hotel." Usually, there is more understanding and managers will often agree to honor the request to cancel especially since I am still 6 months out from our trip, and there's nothing worse than forcing someone to stay at your hotel under such circumstances. Overall, it made me question the level of service we would receive once actually being a guest, and it's not worth changing my itinerary to stay there. We will just find another hotel.
A five minute walk from Barberini metro stop, the Memphis is in a great location. Ten minute walk to Trevi Fountain and close to several good cafes, restaurants, bars, shops. The hotel lobby and guest rooms are kept clean. A good first impression. My room was quite small with a single bed. I wasn't expecting a lot but hoped for a double sized bed for more comfort. I was in Rome on business and needed to press a shirt. My room had no iron. I was told by one desk clerk that, no problem, I only needed to ask in the morning and their laundry service could help. Next morning, I did that only to learn from another clerk there was no possibility to help. There are no irons in the hotel and they rely on an external service - which wasn't open unti noon. I needed my shirt before then of course. So I was out of luck. I enjoyed the fresh fruit that was placed in my room each day. WiFi fluctuates and can be frustrating. Breakfast is okay but the coffee from the machine insults Itialian brew. I'd stay at the Memphis again but with lowered expectations.
Considering that this hotel is a 4 star hotel, I certainly wouldn't class it as a 4 star hotel. My wife & myself have stayed at this hotel twice now & it still hasn't impressed. We came here for our honeymoon 4 years ago & funnily enough we had the exact same room, this time as we did for our honeymoon. We both found the beds to be extremely hard, not very comfortable at all, their were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, so if you are the type of person, who likes to have tea/coffee in your room, you will need to take your own travel kettle. The hotel hasn't even got a restaurant on site, like a lot of the 4 star hotels do, it has got a room, where you can have breakfast, but no restaurant. The breakfast, is very basic, for the hotel.
This hotel is nice, rooms are small but everything was very nice. Bathroom nice. Breakfast in the morning good. Great to just walk the city from hotel. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. There are numerous shops and eateries right next to the hotel. I took the train from the airport to arrive there. Would stay there again.
Within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Memphis. The rooms were pleasant, and the bathroom had been part retiled. The towel warmer was handy, especially when we needed to wash socks! The beds were comfortable, and the free WiFi was great. Breakfast had a little bit of everything, and the lady made us all lovely Cappuccinos.
We chose this hotel for its location as everywhere is within walking distance. It is listed as a four star but I feel it is more a three star. The hotel is is spotlessly clean and the rooms are on the small side. Unless you are a heavy sleeper, you had better ask for a room at the back of the hotel as the front gets a lot of traffic noise. At the back you won't hear a thing. The staff are all friendly and the front desk are helpful.
The Hotel is great not far away from much just 5 min walk from trevi fountain & 10 min away from the Spanish steps, Restaurants just next door one i Recommend !!! Small hotel but very clean rooms are clean safe, our room had a safe to put our passports & valuables, the shower is wow lovely power shower & hot water!! Beds a bit hard for me but that's personal preference, Tv in the room few English channels but we did not want to see TV, Fruit in the room daily & Free WI-FI that works!! The Receptionists are so great helpful all of them they help and help i even got my boarding cards printed, Again thank you for that! This is a B&B hotel they do offer a restaurant but we never had the chance as we only stayed 4 nights, Breakfast was good wished a bit more warmer foods like bacon or but again personal preference, Hot tea Coffee Cappuccino hot chocolate Juice all there, Just around the Corner is a English pub that every eve we used to get a pint from & have good snack food till late 11pm i think, Just 6 min walk is a ATM, The double Decker bus stop the tourist buses are just 12 min walk away, 3 small shops that sell food stuffs for the evening snack in the hotel room, I honestly cant complain from this hotel!
You don't come to Rome for large TVs, fast internet and over-sized hotel rooms. The staff at the Memphis is very helpful, great english, and wishes your visit to Rome to be exceptional. Short walk to everything, too many restaurants to list. The front of the hotel is on a quiet side street so you won't get too much street noise when trying to rest. Da Olimpio right next door is a great Italian family restaurant experience.
