The location is wonderful. Close to the airport but far enough away that you do not have any noise. The rooms are beautifully appointed and beds are very comfortable. Alex and Marco are lovely hosts! The breakfast that the hosts served every morning was very European, carefully prepared for our taste and like the rest of the hotel, a lot of attention was paid to details. We would definitely stay there again.
The rooms where clean and rebuilt. Excellent location, close to Via Cavour, the Forum and The Coloseo.. Wi-fi was bad, it didn't work sometimes. There was no breakfast service. The hotel was very quiet and nice.
Hotel de Rome is a nice little boutique hotel in an excellent location in Rome. The colosseum is literally 5 minutes on foot away. The rooms are nice, spacious and with air conditioning. The bathroom was newly renovated and very nice. Friendly staff.
The primary reason I decided to stay at this hotel was due to how close it was to the Colosseum and the price was very reasonable. The rooms are clean but small and some of the bathroom fixtures need repair. The reception was separate from the rooms and it was only open till 11PM. While this wasn't a problem as I didn't need to interact with the reception once we checked in. But it caused me to adjust my travel plans on getting to the hotel to ensure we arrived on time as we arrived in ROME late.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel De Rome from 9/13/17-9/15/17. This was our last stop of a 2 week tour we did for our 5 year wedding anniversary. It took us a bit to find the hotel, not only because we didn't have cell service being from a different country, but the fact that the hotel lobby is actually not near the rooms at all, but up one block. Once we found the lobby we were pleased to see the modern styling which is what we wanted in our hotel. We were greeted and shown to the door of where the rooms were...Upon entering our room we weren't quite sure what to think. We loved the spiral stair case and the tall ceilings! Working my way upstairs however i was sad to see the only thing up there was a bath tub and a mini fridge! It is such a waste of space! Working my way down to the bathroom I was shocked to see how bad of shape it was in. Paint peeling from the ceiling, mold/mildew in the corners by the shower etc. I should also note that while showering, each day the shower would overfill and flood the bathroom! Unacceptable! Walking back into the main room every single wall was beat to hell. You'd think they would paint or clean the walls once in a while to maintain a good look. I put this all aside and looked out the window and was wowed by the view. The Roman Forum is a mere 100ft from the door to the hotel! Restaurants right at the entrance as well. In short, the location of this hotel is excellent. It is so close to everything! However, there are MANY draw backs that would stop us from ever staying there again. If there was some pride taken in their upkeep they could be a 4-5 star hotel without question.
Nice modern little hotel with great location to pretty much walking distance to all the sights Had a 3 night stay and the only one complaint was they asked us to move room for the last night which was a pain
We stayed here 6 nights. The room was a great size, had a central courtyard to go to and sit, hotel was modern and rooms well made every day. Location is unbeatable, close to the colosseum and war memorial, restaurants at the door and convenience stores. Jemma on reception was particularly lovely and helpful with tours, and helped us book an airport transfer cheaper than a taxi standard rate. Check in and out was quick, would stay here again.
Visited end of July. Small but clean and central hotel. Linen and towels freshly changed daily. Staff are very helpful too. Rooms airconditioned and have free wi-fi. Mini markets souvenir shops metro and restaurants are all within walking distance. Highly recommended.
A simple hotel in the city center with a great view and very nice service! Clean and cheap but not for a long stay, I would say. Perfect for 1/2 nights in Rome. Rooms are small but all the necessaries are presented.
This is a nice, impeccably clean, budget-friendly hotel right in the heart of ancient Rome. A few steps from the front door is the magnificent Colosseum, the Vittorio Emmanuelle monolith and the Forum to name very few. What more can you ask for when staying in the eternal city? It is easy to walk to ALL the main sites from here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We had loads of questions and they set us straight immediately. The rooms are small but clean and well-appointed. The Wifi is fast, continuous and free. Why pay for a luxury suite when you will be out and about all day every day anyway? There are numerous eateries nearby, and the best part is the tiny coffee shop a few metres away where you can stand and have your morning espresso with the locals. Bliss.
