Traveled at the beginning of October with a friend of mine. We have chosen the hotel mainly for the location and price, thinking that a 3 stars hotels should be at least clean and decent. We were so wrong!!! First bad experience was that in the day of our checking in, in the evening, at the return in the hotel we have been INFORMED (not politely asked, not ensured that they feel sorry to bother us with such a request) that we need to change the room the very next day as we are in a three beds room. It is not like we've put ourselves there, is where the hotels put us. We've politely declined such request and we've mentioned that we are on vacation and not willing to pack again our staff to move in a different room (especially since nobody said please at anytime). The next day, at the return from our sightseeing we've been shocked to find out that we have been moved into a different room. Meaning that somebody has entered in our room and removed all our unpacked items, clothes, accessories, without our consent. Not even this time have we been upgraded, thanked in any way... We have been terrified by the state of the rooms in this hotel and I am attaching pictures so anybody could see the mold in the bathroom, on the tiles, even on the alarm rope, on the shower curtain. I also noticed the antiquity of the pillow (yellow from lots of perspiration - even though the light in the room is probably on purpose yellow as well, so one cannot notice the age of the pillow). Another lie in this hotel's presentation (at least on Hotels.com) is the pride of having multilingual staff, forgetting to mention which are those many languages spoken cause we couldn't detect English among them. At leaving the property, we have been requested to pay again the city tax of 4 Eur/person/night although this amount was already comprised in the total price paid to Hotels.com and mentioned on the reservation conditions. But guess what?! It was in English - that is why they couldn't be sure that it was paid. I requested an invoice for this payment and I was told that it is not possible to get one - instead I received a written receipt. Even more, my friend forgot her wallet with money and documents at the hotel and when we called to ask about them, we've been told that is not there and we are sure they haven't even checked as the person who answered the phone spoke some English and it was a woman and when we left the hotel an hour before at the reception there was a man. Absolutely horrific experience, wouldn't recommend this hotel even if it would be the only one left.

Pros Centrally located right next to Piazza Barberini and all city attractions Clean Friendly staff Reasonably priced Cons Breakfast is served in a nearby cafe, meaning that you have to walk around 250m, which is not ideal if you are waking up early Improvements necessary(unscrewed towel holders, bed skirt missing from one of the beds, very dirty curtains etc.)

This hotel, although is a little simple, has a very good location. It is very close to the Trevi fountain and piazza spagna but in a quiet neighborhood. So you have the best location and a good rest at night as there is barely any noise. If you want to go to the vatican city, it will take you less than 25 minutes by foot. The breakfast is served at your room and is really tasty (although you dont have many options). The room is cleaned every day and the staff is really nice. Nice place to crush after a long day walking around Rome.

Visiting Rome for the first time. Very helpfull and pleasant staff. Could not Ask for a better place to stay. Tasty breakfast in bed and the rooms very clean and quite large. The hotel lies in a calm area of the city.

Pros Excellent location to barberini metro, Spanish steps, trevi fountain colleseum all in walking distance. Owner is a cute charming old man Building is prestigious and gives a luxury image. Cheap price Cons Air con apparently is not used until April, which means in march when you are sleeping it's too hot in the room and worse when a female has to use hairdryer! Towels old thin smelly and dry. No complimentary water included. Bed and pillows are so uncomfortable, as a result poor sleep which is not ideal with full days of excursions.

HMMM... look the first look from outside it is a bit scary especially the night... the hotel is inside a goverment building with no sign from outside no flag nothing i find it only from the number 16 the sign is inside the button for the door !! anyway inside the room was average for the rome it is .... cozy minus .... they dont have loby - or place for breakfast - coffee or drinks . the breakfast was in the room ant was BUD ! the cleanliness was average .... also for the bathroom how ever the place was very good very near to barberini - fontana -spanish steps... and everything else the metro was in 3 minutes far i recommend it for a few days ....

We stayed for 4 nights in Hotel 2000 in September 2016, me, my husband and our 2 boys of 2 and 5. We had a large quadruple room, with 2 big, comfortable beds. The breakfast was served in the room, but generous, and of good quality. All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind. The only pity was that the window was just halfway up, otherwise we would have had a better view.

Doesn't look like an hotel from the outside. Occupies 2 floors of a building. But it is friendly, good breakfast in bed and you have Roma in walking distance. Small rooms but clean. Just what you need if you don't stay in bed all day.

My advice: if you want to actually enjoy your time in Rome, avoid this place. A few days beforehand we emailed them to ask whether they offered airport pick up service, we got no reply. So emailed again, still no reply. Upon arrival, we had absolutely no idea where we were going because there is seriously no signs at the front of the building to point out its Hotel 2000 Roma, lucky there was a man at the front that obviously worked there and pointed inside the building when he saw our luggage. Once we were all checked in, and were sent into our room, that's where our shock grew. This room was tiny, hot and reeked of cigarette smoke, which literally had us gagging. From here, it just got worse, there was almost no where to put our bags, no spare power plugs, we had to take out the plug for the phone and then put another in the bathroom. The air con, did not work whatsoever. We had it on 18 degrees with the fan on high and we were all sweating. We had to get out immediately. That night while getting ready, we noticed that the shower had marks on the bottom and the shower head was filled with mould, so we had very quick showers. Can safely say that it was the worst sleep of our lives and glad we were only there for 2 nights, very tempting to find elsewhere if we were there for longer.

Excellent location in the city center, 5 minutes from both Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna, within walking distance to the major attractions and very close to the metro. Despite other reviews, easy to reach the address if you take a look at the pictures showing the property on booking. The room was ok, a little outdated, but I didn't expected much. Basic breakfast, but we've expected this: coffee and toasts /croissants or muesli. Room 21 has a spacious and nice bathroom with bathtub. Wi-fi was good. Strange windows, at the bed level, you could see outside only if you lay on the floor :). You have to be careful to never leave the place without leaving the key to the reception, even if you go out for some minutes, otherwise you risk being called after like you would have stole something; I said I wouldn't let the rude attitude affect me, even joked on the "old school style", but ... On the day of leaving they forced me to live the room earlier than the times mentioned on site and on the reservation.When I went to leave the key, the man at the reception told me I have to check out before 12; when I knew I'll have to leave the room before 13:30 plus 2 extra hours for genius, this being a reason for choosing this hotel, as I had a late flight. I told him that I don't understand, that I have other data on my reservation and this will really change my entire schedule on my last day, which was not at all desirable. I said I'll try to be ready, and he shouted at me that this will be in 40', because the other guests already arrived and they were fully booked (at that time there were 3 available rooms on booking). This was definitely not of my concern, as I was to respect the times, but I decided not to let him ruin my last day in Rome, so I got my luggage ready and checked out at 12. I mentioned again that this is not fair, not a way to treat the customers. When I informed booking of the situation, the property's response seemed a joke to me, all being totally not true, purely inventions. He said it has not been possible, because it was Sunday (I checked out on Monday) and the waitress lives outside the city and has to take the train. to reach home. He never mentioned to me "the poor girl" that couldn't make it to her family if I would have not leave the room earlier, which was obviously an invention, but if they change the check in / check out times according to the employees, which I doubt, they should definitely mention this in the confirmation or change the times. All in all, I have never been treated with such a lack of respect on any of my holidays or trips I had before and I find very important for all the properties as well as for the clients, to respect the conditions previously agreed.
