Nothing but praises and more praises!! All communication via email with Federica who answered promptly, friendly and thoroughly each time with all of our questions. The hotel itself, restaurant, surroundings, food, and service was beyond excellent. Indika was in charge of the dinner and was such a pleasure. We were in awe of the service, following up after each course to ensure we were happy with virtually each bite, but in a good way ;). The waiters were extremely professional, friendly and even humorous. The people at the front desk were also beyond helpful and friendly, basically everyone we came in contact with. They had special meals for the 3 children. There was a much bigger wedding party right after us, but we didn't notice by the service we received. It was clear they could provide pretty much anything we could have asked for, different flowers, cake etc. Location is simply gorgeous for wedding pictures so plan for that! Easy to get to there by car. Wedding was in the Rome LDS temple and the hotel was a really good location from there, about a 20 min drive. After returning home a week later, we are still overwhelmed by the experience provided. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of the staff for improving upon our already wonderful day of celebration. Magical memories all around. As you can tell, we can highly recommend Castello della Castelluccia. I don't know how you could go wrong with them. Can't imagine a better place to celebrate a wedding...seriously."
Beautiful scenery just outside Rome. Beautiful castle and excellent food. Very friendly and accommodating personnel. Relatively easy access considering it is Rome. In the outskirts but not far would recommend cashing a car for ease of transportation in and out.
After a week long cruise we drove here for a couple days to unwind. It was absolutely beautiful. We booked the Tower Suite which came with a five course dinner. The suite and dinner were exquisite. We were so impressed with the food, service and room. The ONLY disappointment was the spa. We were really looking forward to it and unfortunately it was out of service. We are from Florida and met a wonderful couple from NY. We invited them up to share some wine on our roof top terrace, great company and phenomenal views from the top.
We looked at 3 venues in Rome for our wedding and Castello della Castelluccia stood out due to the beautiful scenery, gardens and different areas we could use on our special day. During our wedding planning, Fabrizio and his team made us feel at ease at every step and nothing was too much trouble. The day was perfect and the level of service from all the staff was excellent. Both the food and accommodation were outstanding with each room for our guests being unique. The castle is beautiful and if looking to book for a wedding, function or as a base for going into Rome this is a perfect choice.
My son and I stayed for 4 nights in early July. The room was lovely with generous size twin beds and a nice bathroom. We ate in the restaurant twice, including use of the terrace which was idyllic. The food was delicious but the mojito was undrinkable it was so strong. Breakfast was a nice assortment of pastries, cheese, read, eggs, bacon etc. Staff were always pleasant but it's not quick to get service from the bar. I ordered tea a couple of times but it took a long time to be served. The pool was lovely and the staff were very attentive- that was 7 euros each which included use of a towel, beach chairs and parasol. Getting into Rome and back felt like a bit of a chore, particularly in the summer heat. The trains were very cheap but packed and the shuttle bus to the station took some of the hassle out of it. If I were to do it again, I'd probably split my time between a more central city location and a couple of nights there. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. I would definitely stay again.
We stayed at the Castello for a night after we flew into Rome and before we left for a 7 night cruise, and it was perfect. They arranged transportation from the airport for us (a family of 5!), and after an amazing lunch at the restaurant in the Castello, we spent a lovely afternoon by their pool. We had another fabulous meal for dinner and then slept very comfortably in our room. After a very good breakfast buffet, we hoped in another private transfer that they arranged to go off to the Rome port. I would highly recommend this lovely castle to stay in - it was the perfect start to our trip, full of history, grandeur and delicious food. (my daughter will argue that their pasta was the BEST of our 2 week Italian trip!)
Recently stayed for the weekend for my sons wedding, which all went well. As a venue it was very nice, and the staff were excellent. Rooms were not the biggest but sufficient for a couple of nights. The on site pool was handy, if only you didn’t have to go down over 100 steps to reach it but nice and big. A buggy was available for my disabled friend so no complaints. It’s a castle so very medieval and a bit dark but not the ideal place if you are doing the tourist stuff in Rome, which we weren’t,as it’s a bit cut off, and at least 40 minutes away to central Rome by car.But great place to hold a reception.
We drove to the hotel from Rome Ciampino and were greeted by a very striking and imposing building set in beautiful grounds. We met several members of staff in various capacities, all of whom were friendly and happy to converse with us in English / laughable holiday Italian. All of our interactions with staff were positive and the service they provided was excellent, leaving us feeling very welcomed and appreciated. The décor inside the hotel was tasteful in keeping with the age and history of the building. The room was very cosy and intimate – Dark wood and metal; a really nice space to be in. Breakfast provided an excellent array of foods, all of which were very good quality; best illustrated by the vast quantity which I ate and the subsequent comatose appearance. Dinner was served in the same room as breakfast – a beautiful space with charm and character. The respective pasta dishes we ordered were very good and fairly priced, though mildly underwhelming. We drank a bottle of white wine from the Lazio region, which was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast service was excellent and the staff were friendly and positive. We used a lot of the facilities the hotel offered such as the spa and the shuttle bus to the train station. Again, very pleased with these facilities and services. The pool area, including all outdoor furniture, could have been better cleaned / maintained. This being said, we arrived in late May, which I am aware is out of season so this is a minor gripe. I would highly recommend this hotel so many thanks for a really memorable stay, from Greg and Steph
This is a beautiful centuries old castle on a hill in the country just outside Rome. The building and grounds are stunning. The room had a real castle feel...brick floor and ceiling, hand painted mural and deep set window overlooking the main entrance. The front desk staff was extremely friendly, kind and helpful. The spa/Turkish bath was amazing, sauna, stream, hot tub, cool tub, massages, soft lighting, soft music, hot tea. The restaurant has phenomenal food but a pretty stuffy atmosphere. Pasta dishes were priced at 10-15 euros, sliced beef fillets starting at 20 euros, wine also starting at about 20 euros/bottle, and desserts(mind blowing excellence) priced at 8 euros. Breakfast was OK and included pastries, bread, rolls, salami, cheese, cereal, yogurt, coffee, and made to order cappuccino and espresso. I would strongly recommend staying here if visiting Rome. My only complaint would be the occasional unpleasant smell coming in the window....but I attribute that to the general garbage problem Rome has, not to the hotel itself.
We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was more than we could have expected it to be. We had a fantastic room with a lovely note and free champagne to celebrate. All the staff were very friendly and so helpful. The setting of the castle was magical and we loved every minute here. Can't wait to go back!
