We have had a wonderful 4 nights at The Astoria. The staff were friendly and very accomodating when we needed to add an extra person at the last minute. The hotel has a lovely garden area that is perfect for relaxing with a Prosecco after a long day of sightseeing. The location is handy to the main train station and there is a supermarket and laundromat very close by. The is also a good selection of reasonably priced restaurants in the immediate area. We will definately stay again when we return to Rome
The hotel was ok to live in. Of moderate distance to the train station, this place is easy to find. The room was not modern but warm and clean to live in. Breakfast was great with everything you can have in the morning. The only thing that we were not very happy was the guy on duty in the morning when we checked out. We tried to save our luggage for a day while he told us to leave them in the hall for him to take care. But as we didn't get any receipt or tags, I took a photo to be save and prove it is 2 luggages we deposited. The gentlemen was definitely not happy and told us we can put it to the deposit around station if we do not trust him. Nothing but a over reaction. Others were all very nice, good value for money.
Small, but very quaint. Front desk was very helpful, breakfast was good. Liked to relax in the courtyard after a lot of walking in Rome. Was very close to the train station since we left to other cities from there.
The hotel is very close to Termini but calm and quiet at the same time. It has a beautiful little garden for relaxing. The rooms are small but nice and clean. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. We had a really good time here, thank you! Brigitte M.
My friend and I stayed at this hotel and do not stay here!!!!!!!!!! I cannot stress enough the poor quality of this hotel. I've stayed in hostels all over the world and this place is worse than any place I've stayed. I had to kill bugs ok the wall. The ac went out in my room and they did nothing about it. The bed had dirty sheets. The breakfast was stale. Service was terrible....I've stayed in Europe may times. This service/help was the worst. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Radisson down the street is well worth the money!
Walking distance from the Termini Train station. Small rooms. We had two rooms, one was a bit larger with a private garden terrace, which was lovely. The bath room was pretty small and the shower was very tight. the other room was off the garden, older bathroom but the shower was bigger. The beds were awful, I must say. I like a softer bed, and these were the worst beds of the trip. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. We stayed at 6 different hotels on the this trip and this was our least favorite breakfast, but nothing to really complain about except the cold scrambled eggs. The front desk staff helped us with calling taxi's and made arrangements for our airport transfer. And the rooms were cleaned every day nicely.
This is a perfect little boutique hotel in the heart of Rome. Location is perfect for those using the metro. Ulrich the Front Desk manager goes out of his way to accommodate requests. The private garden is perfect for happy hour or morning coffee - all of which you can buy at the hotel. Rooms are nothing luxurious, but very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel. Only negative was a less than friendly afternoon front desk agent who was the only knock in this experience.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and my room had recently had new double glazing installed which was great at drowning out the road noise. It is a good location from termini station and the room had everything you need including air conditioning. The only downside is that my room was very small. It felt like being back at university halls. But as long as you're planning to be out away from the hotel it's good enough.
My husband and I stayed 2 nights here last week during our trip to rome. It was a beautiful hotel, super friendly staff. They were very helpful and offered great suggestions. Recommend getting a bus pass, as it's a far walk for a lot of the bigger sites. The room was small, but we weren't there for the room! The only negative was the bed was definitely rock hard, but we were so wore out after walking everywhere and traveling, it didn't disturb our sleep. If we were stating longer it may have been an issue. Would stay here again though!
I arrived in Rome and did not book a room , I just walk in this hotel , and I stay , the stuff here is friendly , very helpful , the room is clean , free wifi , and it is right in downtown , walking distance to everything , and it is in a safe area , walking 11 pm at night , and it is fine , will stay in this hotel next time I am in Rome , excellent, thank you !!!!
