This hotel is a nightmare!!!! My family and I just came back from our trip and this hotel was the worst experience ever. Upon checking in, they assigned us a very small room designed to fit two people at the most so imagine fitting four people in this room! We were 4 people and they assigned us such room in which we could barely walk as 4 twin beds were close to each other across one another. Not happy about this, we immediately complained and asked them to upgrade claiming that it was NOT the room we saw when we initially booked the room. Given this, they moved us the next day to a larger room which was ok to fit 4 people, but did not meet our expectations AT ALL. The room was very very smelly, air conditioning was not properly working, the bathroom was very small and was not properly equipped. However, the worst thing about all of this is that the bedroom had bedbugs!!! Two nights after staying, I got a terrible rash without realizing that it was due to bedbugs as I initially thought that it was related to food. It was until I was diagnosed that I learned that it all was due to BEDBUGS as I had to visit an urgent care facility upon my return since the rash worsened during the last three days I stayed in the hotel. Luckily, non of my other family members who traveled with me got sick. As a result, I want to assume that it was just my bed that was infested with bedbugs. I am now freaking out as I am afraid of the chances of infesting my house even though I have followed the proper steps to avoid this and have packed in plastic bags all my trip clothes and even my luggages as suggested by my doctor. I wish I could get my money back because this hotel made my trip pretty miserable. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL as they claim. Also, do not be fooled with the pictures as the rooms they show are not even close to what they are in reality. Daily housekeeping is garbage as they do not clean the rooms properly and they do not even change the blankets daily. This is a dirty hotel so please DO yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this crappy hotel if you really want to enjoy your vacation and have peace of mind.
This is a tired old hotel. A one star hotel. The four stars on the door I do not know who awarded them. I have stayed in better road motels all over the world. The price is high as everything is expensive in Rome but the room was horrible. A bed resting on the floor (no bed frame), a telephone booth shower for taking vertical showers, no bending allowed and not even a place to rest the soap or shampoo bottle. The a/c barely freshened up the room and the vent was black with soot from never having been cleaned. The wallpaper torn from being hit by suitcases. The two hardest wood chairs I have ever tried to rest on. The location, though is excellent, next to St María la Maggiore Church and walking distance to many sights.
We had seen a few iffy comments from people on this Hotel so we had an open mind when booking. But everything was 100% excellent from the time we booked in to the time we left. The management and everyone associated with the Hotel were first class. Our bedroom overlooked the front of the building but it was never over noisy. The bedroom was well maintained and the bathing facilities were good. The breakfasts were superb and much more than we expected them to be. we never had to eat during the days because there was sufficient to eat at Breakfast. The layout is a bit strange (quirky) but very happy to explore and found the excellent church within the hotel and wonderful courtyard for early afternoon sun. The location is superb and all the sights are within easy reach. We were told it would be expensive to eat at night....far from it and a glorious selection of restaurants, big, small, quirky nearby. Would definitely recommend the place to any one who is looking to visit Rome.
dut to cancelled flights had to find another hotel for 2 days.this one was just over the road.lovely building great views great staff.unfortunately it is stuck in the 80s. the decor needs updating .the room was large the bed was comfy the wallpaper was peeling the bathroom had a bath with a hand held shower. the breakfast was ok but the scrambled eggs were cold and they served rice pudding? the best was the croissants. the garden was fab. the location is great but it needs decorating and freshening up.
I stayed at this hotel in September 2017 with my wife and a 2 year old. The location of the hotel is great but on the first night we noticed our bed was full of bed bugs. I will upload the pics if i could. The staff was notified and they did change the room. Unfortunately i did not check the reviews which did mention of the same problem. There are some rooms which are affected by this and hotel has not done anything about this and are still giving the rooms to customers. Luckily i took pictures because i had to go through my booking website for the compensation as this ruined our holiday as we were staying their in fear and the new room that was given was a double bedroom hut we booked and paid for a bigger room(hotel refused to pay anything back). On the last night as well my wife found a bed bug but she didn’t tell me as it was our last day and there was no assurance that the new room will be bed bug free. The bathroom had a broken bath tub and the breakfast they provide finishes without any top ups. If you have any kids please find another hotel, this is a serious health risk.
Location was spot on. Right near Termini station, 20 minute walk to the Colosseum and near a variety of restaurants. Main attractions were pretty much walking distance but the Metro from Termini did help. Hotel is dated but that adds to the vibe of the City. Bathroom was big and room very clean. The breakfast is very European. Brits, don't expect a full English Breakfast. Instead expect cold meats, pastries, coffee and fruit. To be honest that's enough to start the day! Hotel staff were amazing. Francesca went out of her way to provide everything we needed. Very welcoming and helpful. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you for an outstanding stay!
We stayed here in Rome for one night. The hotel was ok. It is older and could use some updates. The breakfast pastries were probably the best thing about the hotel. The location is good for sight seeing. We arrived late and left early so we did not use the hotel much. The parking was good.
Stayed four nights hotel in an excellent location we walked to all the visitor attractions hotel spotlessly clean and tidy fresh bedding and towels every day. We found the hotel in a good standard of maintenance didn't see any issues some people seem to like to complain for the sake of it. Breakfast was more than adequate to keep us going till later in the day internet in the hotel was excellent we were in room 409 top floor nice and quiet the room had a safe which we found handy. All the attractions had police and army guarding them we found this reassuring we got lost a couple of times they were easy to speak with to get directions.
The location is perfect and safe. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The hotel staff is amazing and very helpful. I was there with my son and we loved it. We will definitely stay there again.
We booked this hotel via the BA citybreaks website, we wanted a hotel with good location and of a good standard, Arrival - we checked in immediately which was brilliant as we had an early morning flight. The receptionist was very friendly and so was the bell man. We were taken to the room, enroute shown the lovely chapel (sadly not used other than storage) Room:- a good size room, the decor was very run down. The bathroom limited storage & well the shower not working correctly. After the first night we informed reception who said we could move rooms as they couldn’t fix the shower, we did and yup this shower didn’t work properly either. We didn’t say anything further as really didn’t want to move again! The toiletries - very budget Towels - very thin used towels not what you’d expect in a 4 star hotel Bed - firstly the beds were not made correctly at all, sheets not tucked in correctly & the bedding was not luxurious as it states! Mattress - it was firm but ok Minibar - non existent we had an empty fridge Free breakfast- well as it’s “free” guess you can’t expect much.... good as it really was not good at all! Coffee- Italy is renowned for good coffee- not here you get a coffee from a machine & it really wasn’t very nice Orange juice - it wasn’t juice it was Squash and not nice, I’d expected a choice of juices.... Condiments - budget condiments were offered, not branded items such as Nutella very disappointing Juice cups - PLASTIC!!!!!! It’s supposed to be a 4 star hotel!!!!!!!! Bar- now they say they will offer drinks, after waiting 30 minutes for a prosecco we cancelled the order! The building is stunning as is the location, sadly the rooms and facilities are very run down and not cared for. This hotel could be an amazing boutique hotel if a little more money and work put into it.
