We stayed here in Rome for one night. The hotel was ok. It is older and could use some updates. The breakfast pastries were probably the best thing about the hotel. The location is good for sight seeing. We arrived late and left early so we did not use the hotel much. The parking was good.

Stayed four nights hotel in an excellent location we walked to all the visitor attractions hotel spotlessly clean and tidy fresh bedding and towels every day. We found the hotel in a good standard of maintenance didn't see any issues some people seem to like to complain for the sake of it. Breakfast was more than adequate to keep us going till later in the day internet in the hotel was excellent we were in room 409 top floor nice and quiet the room had a safe which we found handy. All the attractions had police and army guarding them we found this reassuring we got lost a couple of times they were easy to speak with to get directions.

The location is perfect and safe. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The hotel staff is amazing and very helpful. I was there with my son and we loved it. We will definitely stay there again.

We booked this hotel via the BA citybreaks website, we wanted a hotel with good location and of a good standard, Arrival - we checked in immediately which was brilliant as we had an early morning flight. The receptionist was very friendly and so was the bell man. We were taken to the room, enroute shown the lovely chapel (sadly not used other than storage) Room:- a good size room, the decor was very run down. The bathroom limited storage & well the shower not working correctly. After the first night we informed reception who said we could move rooms as they couldn’t fix the shower, we did and yup this shower didn’t work properly either. We didn’t say anything further as really didn’t want to move again! The toiletries - very budget Towels - very thin used towels not what you’d expect in a 4 star hotel Bed - firstly the beds were not made correctly at all, sheets not tucked in correctly & the bedding was not luxurious as it states! Mattress - it was firm but ok Minibar - non existent we had an empty fridge Free breakfast- well as it’s “free” guess you can’t expect much.... good as it really was not good at all! Coffee- Italy is renowned for good coffee- not here you get a coffee from a machine & it really wasn’t very nice Orange juice - it wasn’t juice it was Squash and not nice, I’d expected a choice of juices.... Condiments - budget condiments were offered, not branded items such as Nutella very disappointing Juice cups - PLASTIC!!!!!! It’s supposed to be a 4 star hotel!!!!!!!! Bar- now they say they will offer drinks, after waiting 30 minutes for a prosecco we cancelled the order! The building is stunning as is the location, sadly the rooms and facilities are very run down and not cared for. This hotel could be an amazing boutique hotel if a little more money and work put into it.

Having lived in Italy for over 2yrs, I knew to expect that a 4-star hotel in Italy is not what most 4-star hotels are elsewhere. The average mark given is based on what should be within the control of the hotel. I was not comparing it to my normal expectations of how a 4-star hotel looks and feels like. LOCATION: 10 min walk to Roma Termini or Metro-Cavour. 10 min walk to Via Urbana, where delicious restaurants await. Bus stop a short walk away. A taxi stand right across the street. Early in the morning, before 0800, taxi to Colosseum was under 6Euro, and to Vatican was under 9Euro...cost will surely vary when traffic picks up. Walking to the Colosseum is about 20mins. ROOM: Spacious ensuite at the front of the hotel with a view of the south-face of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore across the street. Traffic can be easily heard. Bathroom was roomy with just a tub, no shower. The tub had no shower curtain, but did have a wand attachment. There were no drain stoppers available for either the sink or the tub. Towels were as thick as a table cloth. One face and bath towel per guest. No wash cloth. There was a moldy smell when we first walked into the room. We decided to air it out and we did not notice it afterwards. Come to find out it's because we had gotten used to it. The next day we discovered mold around the windows and each day we returned to the room we notice the mold smell again. The wallpaper also had some old dark stains that could have been water damage, not certain. We did not say anything to the staff about the smell or the mold. Our daily schedule was pretty tight and we did not have time to deal with changing rooms. In hind-sight, we should have said something the first day. We were there for four nights and got into a routine. However, you cannot miss the smell or the mold around the windows. Guest should not have been put in the room in the first place...especially if you have 4-stars by your hotel name. BREAKFAST: We only had breakfast the first morning. It was a simple continental breakfast setup. There were pastries, fresh fruits, juice, cereal, yogurt, and small cold meat selection. Coffee and tea was provided by a machine that dispensed other selections as well. Nothing special here. STAFF: Every interaction we had with the staff was pleasant and cordial. OVERALL: Great location to hang your hat when touring the city and the neighborhood had a lot to offer as well. We found several restaurants that will be revisited on our next trip to Rome. If we were to rebook the Antico Palazzo we will be more critical of the room situation.

This hotel is in a superb location, just 10minutes from the station and it’s underground and 10 from the main tourist attractions. The rooms are comfortable, if not a little dated, the bathroom in particular. The shower was hard work to use and whilst that appeared a modern piece of equipment it was surrounded by a flaking shower cubicle. Don’t let that put you off staying here it is a minor inconvenience for what is a lovely hotel. The architecture and the chapel that is in the hotel is absolutely stunning and a must to go and adventure around what is a much bigger hotel than you would imagine with just 39 rooms. Breakfast is continental but they do have a good selection and the staff are fantastic.

Excellent central location, warm comfortable room and very friendly and helpful staff. Wi-Fi was not very good but when you are in Rome forget your laptop! Very attractive and interesting building. We shall return.

Let’s face it what you get in Italy is much less than what you get in the USA. Hotel room was large and clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. Breakfast was included - nothing fancy or gourmet but just what you need. Parking is close by and free. Great location walking distance to all major attractions. Hotel is old but tasteful.

Proud for my stay in this hotel, best location and access for city tour visit, excellent facilities, wonderful decoration, kind staff. I really and highly recommend it for stay in Rome. Don’t miss the chance to warm greetings for the administration and staff.

The first thing that I loved about the hotel was its location. It's located right across the magnificent Santa Maria Maggiore. We had great views of this majestic papal basilica from our room. The room was very spacious and great for a short stay. My only suggestion would be to add some more power outlets in the room and the bathroom because of how power-dependent our modern-day devices are. The complimentary breakfast at the hotel was very good, and prepared us well every morning for a long sightseeing day ahead. The staff was great - always very friendly and helpful. There are some restaurants near the hotel, so you wouldn't go hungry. And there is a taxi stand right in front of the hotel by the side of Santa Maria Maggiore. The Roma Termini train station is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, so it's very convenient if you're planning to take a train somewhere. Last, but not the least, the hotel can arrange for airport pickup and drop-off for a very reasonable fee if you coordinate in advance with the hotel staff. I found them to be very responsive over email when I made the booking and the arrangements for airport transportation.
