Our room is not the.same on the pocture. The room is too small. Not so much Amenities. Shower area have no non slip mat, over all i.am disappointed on this property. The only good thing about this property is only walkoing distance to the Vaticsn City. And close to everything.

Great room for the price! Excellent Location!

These rooms are located in a prime location. Less than 2 blocks from the enterance of the Vatican and two blocks from the subway station. We also visited the Coloseum and it was super easy to get there from our room via the subway. Michael checked us in and was super helpful with directions, places to eat and other recommendations. Room was small but clean and suited us just fine. Good room for the money.

Both rooms in our apartment look nothing like the advertise picture. Very clean but very dated. Bathrooms in the apartments were smelly and very noisy. Fantastic location for everything to visit, metro station at the top of the road.if u are looking for a budget,clean room it’s spot on.

Comfortable enough, good location

Central location close to the Vatican and public transit. Restaurants and grocery close and open late. Room functional but not super comfortable (small shower, bed not great) but with AC. Check in a little tricky especially if arriving late. Overall, solid place in Rome.

If you are arriving early in the morning this might not be the place for you. I arrived from the airport at 6.15am luckily someone buzzed me in as it was raining, I then sat on the office step until 8am when the office opened. On the big plus side as my room was empty they let me check in then with out any extra charges. Big Thumbs Up for that.

Well-located Accomodation

This is a great place to stay if you aren't planning to stay inside the room for a large portion of the day.It's located closeby the metro and of course the Vatican. The elevator within the B&B is fantastic since the location is on the 5th floor of the building.

Considering the budget we had to work within, this hotel provided all of the necessary requirements we needed including private bath, hair dryer, air conditioner, room safe and a lift. The fact that it is 1 block from the Vatican was a real plus. The complimentary breakfast is fresh fruit, packaged cookies, croissants, fresh coffee and assorted teas; this could use some improvement. It is convenient to the Metro rail system. The area has many good restaurants and souvenir shops. Angela was a major provider our needs and the desk staff provided us with directions. The room was small but adequate.

Great location in Rome

Fantastic location so close to St Peter's Square, Metro, Hop on Hop off Buses and plenty of restaurants. Mix up with the number of rooms booked still to sort out with Hotels.com and be aware of the 2 Euro per person per night government tax on top of your room price - this tourist tax is charged for every night that you stay in Rome. The apartment we stayed in was very clean and spacious and it is a quirky B&B where you are completely independent. We enjoyed our stay.

Great place and convenient location

We stayed at Ancient Romance in September 2013. I've never been to Rome before and when I walked in was quite amused at the reception. I think I expected more as I thought we were in somebody's home. But we were pleasantly surprised with our room. It was really great. Great bathroom as well and very comfy bed. The location is excellent! The staff were professional and were in contact with us before our arrival. Really a great place to stay at!

Great location for visiting Vatican City

Wish we could have stayed longer! The staff were extremely helpful and stored our luggage upon our arrival since our room wasn't ready and helped us get settled later that day. The location is PRIME for visiting Vatican City - short walk away with lots of restaurants nearby. Endless souvenir possibilities. There's even a 'flea market' of sorts near the "Sleeping Romance" units. GREAT DEALS. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. No street noise from our room. Things to keep in mind: shaky elevator, small shower, high-carb continental breakfast (pastries and cereals), and (for us) a very complicated coffee maker. There is a McCafe less than a block away which worked out perfectly. We needed airport service on departure and had a wonderful, prompt driver get us there right on time. Thank you, Ancient Romance, for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back one day.

good B&B close to Vatican.

Very friendly staff. The only downside was for my elderly parents as the hotel's elevator does not go to 5th floor and entrance is on the sixth floor. Staff very helpful with arrangements, transfers and tips. Room comfort was okay as it took a while to get the room cooled down during a 100+ degree day in room. Shower was small but water flow/temp great. Good place for younger travelers on a budget.

Right near Vatican.

Family of 5 slept comfortably. Nice location to tour Vatican. Near subway station. Less expensive accommodations but adequate. Staff was very peripheral but sincere. Locally recommended restaurant ("Isola") conned us into a 45 euro appetizer. Continental breakfast was some meat and cheese plus some prefab croussants. We did have an espresso machine, though, and my daughter made some delicious lattes with the coffee pods provided.

Great 3 night break

Extremely close to the Vatican City, just around the corner. The room was very clean and comfortable, had a fantastic view from the window. Less than a 5 minute walk to the nearest tube station for easy access to the train station and other sights. Staff's recommendation for dinner was brilliant - bustling, authentic family restaurant with lots of Italians eating there, good food, good service and good atmosphere. Breakfast is a simple help yourself affair of cold meats, cheese, bread, cereal etc. Not the most exciting breakfast in the world but the freedom of getting up to help yourself whenever you wanted and taking it back to your room to eat by the window made up for it. There isn't a sign for the B&B on the entrance door as it is a residential building, so make sure to look for the street number instead of the B&B name, and as you enter the building you will see the sign - 6th floor and the front door has a sign. We'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 7 nights for our honeymoon. Everything was good, the neighbourhood was safe. The only thing is that the location of hotel is a bit far from the city center, however city center can be easily accessed via bus or train over there. Will recommend.

Everything you need!

Very nice location, not a city center, but very close to Vatican and the shopping streets. Everyday cleaning and new towels. Simple breakfast. The b&b staff was very kind. Recommend the family owned pizzeria "L'Isola della pizza" 2 blocks away. Tasty and cheap.

We just stayed from one night what I regret because we like that very much. But if you have problems to sleep with noise you need earplugs. Giorgio and Angela wonderful people, very friendly. They make you really to fill welcome.

Overall I can recommend this but in my rulebook hotelstays in Rome is overpriced in central locations. We got a two rom and kitchenette in a BB appartment. We had the impression that the comple house was an hotel overlooking the Vatican but that was not the case. Instead this was four appartments on the top floor on a sidestreet. Too much money compared to value.
