The room keys would not work. Front desk stated to just come get them whenever we left. NO... Smoke alarm disconnected. MOLD on the bed curtains. DEAD BUGS. Dead bolt would not work. Bathroom door wouldn't close. HEAT BROKEN. There was snow on the ground so it was cold. Bed spread FILTHY and had burn holes in it. Trash UNDER the bed. TV would not work. Broken curtain rods so they would not close all the way. Coffee pot full of coffee grounds. The chair and foot stool had so many stains on them I don't know why they were even still allowed to be in use. I will never stay here or recommend them, ever. Absolutely disgusting.
I got in fairly late but the manager came as soon as I rang the bell. My room was as reserved, only problem was it was dark and hard to see the numbers. Interior was clean, quiet. I got a good night’s sleep. Motel is right off I-90 so very convenient as I was just passing through.
Had reservations. They knew we were coming. NO towels! He would not bring us any!We had to walk over at midnite and get our own towels. Room was falling apart. TV would not work, he would not come and fix it. Towel rack would not stay up, bathroom half painted. Vent in floor full of dust. In the morning when it turned light, we realized we were undressing the night before with the curtains 6 to 8 inches too short! Anyone could look in! Went to talk to owner and ask for some kind of discount or compensation , he said if we didn't like it we should have left! Horrible man, crazy circumstances, advice....don't do it, don't stay there!
Was looking for a reasonable room in this area. Price was awesome. Staff was friendly and helpful. Simple, clean, great if you are on a motorcycle as well. Very close to I-90 c/w gas station rite beside it. I shall stop there again.
I was up in the area and needed a place to stay. It's on older old style drive up to your room motel. Bed was good, room clean, air worked, cable worked and the internet was good enough if your not trying to do to much on it. The breakfast is mainly cold items along with toast and stuff (Waffles) that you can heat up in the toaster. Milk, coffee, OJ are all available. It is a good value for the price but if you are used to staying at more modern hotels you'll ptobably be disappointed but for less than $60/night it was a good value.
The surly front desk night clerk should have been the first clue, too busy to come out and had to call from the front desk phone twice to get him out there to check us in. The weather was unusually warm so I tried to turn on the AC and the entire covering fell off on to the floor. There was a toilet plunger between the tub and toilet. Do it yourself at these prices? A least we didn't have to use it but the whole concept is gross. Stains on the bathroom counter and a cracked sink, stains on the bed coverings, chair and rug, yuck! After noticing the surface of the TV console looked questionable I took a damp washcloth and wiped all table surfaces off and doubt anyone had cleaned the tables and console - ever! - the cloth was filthy. The sidewalk slopes in towards the door creating a two inch rain puddle to step in to get in or out of the room. Rain gutters over the door would help; maybe the staff has a laugh watching people getting drenched coming and going. The smiling morning lady was the best part about the place and the beds were comfortable. It was quiet on the side away from the freeway.
I don't know why people were giving this bad reviews. We thought the place was nice and clean and pleasant ... we would certainly stay again!! Our room was big and didn't smell funny ... and our bed was very comfortable.
We visited Austin Minnesota because we couldn't drive any further but what a find. The town is the home to a new SPAM...yes that meat product SPAM Museum...a GREAT free attraction. The town of Austin is very photogenic and the people we met were all nice...especially the manager of this Rodeway Inn. She welcomed us very friendly and when we were leaving she helped us with a water spill in our van even going so far as to give use some old towels to clean up our spill. The room was SUPER clean, very comfortable, quiet. A good town to visit and a really good place to stay.
My daughter, son, 3 grandkids and I had to stop last week Sunday night and the room was so spacious, water was hot and shower spray was great. Breakfast was basic but really good. I highly recommend this motel. The manager was very polite and helpful.
I was there on business recently and arrived just a little before 2:30 in the afternoon, hoping I'd be able to check into my room. The woman at the front desk checked me in, was very courteous, friendly and helpful. Even the following morning; after handling late night check-ins; some on their way to the Sturgis Rally, she was still very friendly, courteous. My room was clean, very comfortable--pillows were fluffy!! YAY!-- and the wifi was solid all the way through the night. Shower pressure was strong and water was nice and hot. You'd think that for a roadside hotel right off the interstate you'd see a big mess. But NOT the Rodeway. Parking lot was spacious; clean and the building was well kept. This is a place where management really cares about their guests. I highly recommend the Rodeway Inn & Suites for any traveler along I-90 in Austin, MN.
