The hotel is kept in a very clean enviroment, The rooms are clean, well laid out, and comfortable. Everything in the rooms was in an excellent state of maintenance and worked well. Breakfast was great! The staff were all extremely freindly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable, 5 stars to them!

Stayed here during the olympics and it was everything younwoukd expect from a mervure. Helpful staff, big and clean rooms and modern throughout. Good customer service who were helpful in printing boarding passes etc off gor us and gave us plenty of advice. Be aware that this hotel is in a suburb and is about 40 miles from the centre. We used trains to get to the centre of rio and had to depart from the local station which was full of dodgy characters. The local area is similar. Be very aware of your belongings at all times. People will not think twice about stealing them. I caught several men staring at my husbands back ockets eyeing up their chances of a free phone or wallet. Also suggest that you do not go out in this area alone at night. It isnt safe and one evening a taxi driver even refused to take us there as he thought it was dangerous. If you want a cheap and high quality hotel then this is perfect but make sure you research the local area first.

Its in a dodgy place but is actually an oasis of comfort and safety. The staff are excellent, the food was sublime, the rooms are lovely and the bed ENORMOUS and the outside pool is a real treat But....but....the longest time to check in I have ever experienced - about 20mins a person and a palavar to even check out too. And the WIFI wasnt available...apparently my phone (yeah right...didnt have a problem anywhere else in Rio and it took 15 mins to get to the ground floor on Sunday morning as one of the lifts wasnt working and they kind of implied that was our fault too

Hotel was nice very expensive for that time but was expected. The main issue was very far from Copacabana Beach . To go in AM to the beach we had to take the train and was about 30 min . To come back to the hotel in the evening because is not safe to take the train taxi was $60 each time. So do the math how much you spend daily. Food is cheap if it's not on the beach just walk few streets and find better price and good food. Don't be skeptical about the look of the restaurant from the outside all the food is fresh. Be careful at night time don't be alone on the street it's not safe. Otherwise hotel is more for business people.

One of the two lifts not working for most of the stay; trapped in the other one; the breakfast was of lower standard even than the low standard I expect from Mercure and there was a shortage of some items 30 mins before closing time. We asked for a drink they had run out of and were told there was no more. The area is very low class but still close enough to Rio that I would stay in the area again. A must to have a rental car here. The staff is OK, not great but acceptable. We did like the twin Nespresso machine at brekkie.

We took the motorcycle to Nova Iguacu to have fun at a local club that we enjoy. Driving back after a night of dancing and drinking wasn't an option and so I stumbled up the Mercure on-line. I've stayed with the brand before in Sao Paulo so I sort of knew what to expect. The express check-in didn't add much in saving time, but the express check-out was fast -- as you would expect. But there were no real complaints about the place. Everyone was nice and pleasant. The room was very suitable for a less than 24 hour stay (they did allow us a late check out, thank goodness). I especially enjoyed the balcony, which was a very welcomed surprise. Next road trip, we'll be checking in again.

I've stayed here three times on business trips. The hotel is clean, the rooms are good, bathrooms are small but clean and showers are good. Beds are comfortable. Checking out can be a little slow in the mornings because many people check out at the same time, so don't be in a hurry. Gym is large. Pool looked nice, but I never used it. Breakfast is good. Had difficulty ordering room service due to me not speaking Portuguese and the person on the phone not speaking English. I eventually worked out they were telling me to dial 9 for reception to give my order there.

The hotel offers spacious, well-furnished and very clean rooms. I encountered a problem with closing the window in my room - within 10 minutes a guy from maintenance was able to solve the issue! The personnel at the reception during check-in and check-out was very friendly and supportive. The breakfast buffet offers a wide range of fresh fruits, breads, muesli, joghurt etc.

Great experience and welcome. Large rooms and bed. Very clean. It's a new hotel and rooms are very modern. Rooms have a desk which is ideal for business trips. Internet can be slow especially in the evenings once guests start checking in. Very well located.

I like the hotel property, restaurant and staff. But, the internet is a big disappointment. Here for business for a long time and we struggle with the often unavailable and always slow internet. When the front desk is contacted they are nice but the problem is never resolved.
