To be honest I am very disappointed because spent 3 days in Rio due to APLA 2017 and it is impossible to come back there where rooms are old, the suites rented for having business meetings are even older and dirty. I really recommend to improve the hotel rooms and the entire building because it is the first time that the place was not appropriate for this kind of event. It is a shame!

We love this place! In Sao Conrado area will less tourists. Amazing Sunday brunch and abundant free breakfast. Close to mall Rooms comfy and beds comfortable Clean and the staff is very courteous Kids welcome! Can’t complain. Will definitely come back. Great place!

I was not impressed with this hotel. First of all it is really far from all the famous places in Rio, I was forced to stay there as I was participating in a event being held at the hotel. The rooms are not great, I was actually in a "renovated" room while my colleague wasn't, so my room was bearable hers was not. I hear they have upgraded a few of the top floors. The worst was the bathroom, the shower was not nice, and the bathroom was so tiny that I had to sit on the toilet to put my makeup on. The breakfast was good, and the balcony was large with a beautiful view. Also they call themselves a 5 star but they aren't, they don't even provide one free bottle of water, I was also overcharged at the bar, they were able to correct it at check out, but they need to improve their billing system at the bar as I was charged for other people's drinks. Also there is a stench near the hotel, its is just the smell of the water but it can smell too strong, Rio is a large polluted city so the smell is not the hotel's fault, I advise them to continue to upgrade their rooms to at least a 4 star standard.

The hotel is in a great location, the pool area is nice and big. The hotel is not a 5 star as it is really dated, carpet is frayed in places, gym hours are strange, no robes or slippers in the room, rooms and bathroom very dated but clean although shower did not drain. Thiago was very helpful on reception, breakfast was pretty good. One gripe was the lack of free drinking water provided in the rooms. This is despite the fact there's a screen at reception stating that free drinking water is provided to all guests. In summary, probably a decent 4 star hotel but in desperate need of refurbishment and service needs improvement to be close to 5 star.

I had a wonderful time with my family at this hotel. The service was excellent, our room was very spacious, and the view was gorgeous. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Rio.

Hotel is pretty big with almost its own private beach and huge pools. We where pleasantly upgraded to a way bigger room, where we welcomed the massive space. The hotel is due for a make over as the finishing's are abit dated, nevertheless its still pretty good and comfortable. Views from our room look directly between Rochina Favela and Christ the Redeemer statue as well as had great views of the beach Restaurant is also pretty big, but we only had breakfast. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety as well as live cooking stations. Parking is free at the hotel which is a plus. Only gripe I had we asked for a kettle almost every day of our stay and was always told all kettles are out...and the hotel provides hot water at a charge!, after a few arguments we received hot water on the house but was charged for it another time.

The rooms are good with magnificent views. Breakfast was perfect with a great variety of options. I don't like the fact that it's not possible to change money in the evening and before 9 am. The ATM machine has a miserable rate and I already had dollars which I wanted to exchange.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I stayed here because of a convention was organised in this hotel and the organisers placed me here. However, the rooms are ordinary, lack facilities that I would consider standard in 5 star hotels, such as coffee and kettle. The toilet was old and dirty/rusty, the toilet seat was made from a very thin plastic, more commensurate with a 1 star hotel! The gym is stuffy and old, and the food at breakfast ordinary without and without flare. Its an OK hotel to stay in if you are on a budget. If your meeting happen to be in this hotel, the Melia Hotel directly next to this one is much better. The hotel is a good 1/2 hour from Ipenema by car because of traffic. So not that convenient. The beach seems fine, but some locals tell me that the water is not clean, they suspect because nearby is the largest favella in Rio.

the power stopped, which i've never experienced before. the water stopped, also which i've never experienced in my life. and then yellow dirty water is running.(it's horrible) i called the hotel service and the staff said "it's normal. Thank you." and hung up.(??) I think at least you should say "sorry" even though "it is not your fault" . You could be better. Anyway The worst hotel, the worst service. so disappointed. remind that the name of hotel has been changed to "royal tulip rio". be careful 체크인 하자마자 전기끊김 샤워중 물끊김 다시 나오는 물은 찌꺼기 섞인 녹물이었음. 프론트 서비스 최악. 절대 절대 비추임 참 이름바꿔서 royal tulip rio 호텔임. 잘 피해다니길

I stayed for 12 nights after Christmas with my husband. We were very impressed by the staff, they were all so nice and always answered our questions with a smile, the rooms are big and very clean, although every room has a balcony there are no chairs and table so we can sit and enjoy the beautiful view we had, so we asked for it and when we got back from the beach to our surprise we had two chairs and a table, thank you, we spent many wonderful evenings just listening to the sound of the ocean. The breakfast was delicious and with a big variety. I want to specially thank Gilcimar for his attentiveness toward all are questions and his good advices, you sir are a real gentleman and we thank you for that, at the beach there was Vincent who is so so nice, always made sure we had chairs and a parasol and would always ask if we needed anything, thank you,I loved this hotel and its staff we will definitely go back. Thank you Royal Tulip for an unforgettable vacation. Olga & Jorge
