Clean, convenient, good service, no worries. We were offered free drinks on arrival, which is a nice change from having to show official documentation prior to anything else. This is a hotel I would definitely recommend.
Leonardo Hotel on Bergheimer Strasse offered us a convenient location to explore the city. Affordable price, friendly service and comfortable rooms. We didn't have the breakfat but there are nice places nearby offering tasty breakfast.
I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights during a business trip visiting colleagues at the University and found it suited my needs very well. My room was very comfortable and had everything I needed, the wifi was reliable (note there's a daily charge if you need to use VPN etc but the free-wifi was fine for regular use). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and spoke English very well. I didn't try the breakfast buffet, which was not included in the room cost. The hotel is well placed for Heidelberg city center and within easy walking distance of the Old Town area, but nevertheless the hotel itself was quiet. I would happily stay here again.
Very nice stay at the Leonardo at the weekend. Our room was upgraded to a superior room with a balcony for no reason. The staff were very helpful. Be prepared for a lot of walking as its about 45 mins from the site seeing spots. Very reasonably priced
Pros: cozy spacy rooms cleaned well.Modern. Cons: higher moisture due to weak ventilation, no shower curtain.Breakfast just average but tasty.Available from 6:30 only. Purpose of stay: Business trip...
Room cleaning service is pretty bad. The elevator is a pain in the morning. Breakfast good and good the front desk service. Park underground available but not cheap. Very good wifi coverage and speed.
This was a 4 star hotel. My single room was quiet, comfortable and had a full bed. The bathroom was clean, neat and functional. The free wifi worked but was slow. The hotel was dog friendly and had a grassy area outside where I could walk my dog. There was a bar near the entrance. It was open until midnight or later if needed. The staff was quite friendly. The breakfast was quite good. They had a nice selection of bread, rolls, muffins and croissants. They had a buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt, juices, tea and coffee.
It's in the heart of Heidelberg. Not very promising look from outside. A bit small lobby but with helpful reception and concierge. A good and clean room, average size and everything work well. The bathroom also clean. Very good breakfast.
Stayed at this hotel over the last weekend with the intention of using it as a base for visiting the Christmas Markets in Heidelberg. It was a great choice for that and for other reasons. The hotel was a ten minute walk from the Airport Shuttle bus stop (which was a bonus as our flight was delayed and we arrived late) and it is also around a ten minute walk to the main street on which are about 7 small Christmas Markets. I can't say that we were particularly impressed with the markets, having hardly any craft or clothing stalls and having mainly food stalls and the markets finished at 9p.m. but the atmosphere was great. The Christmas Markets in Manchester and Birmingham are far bigger and more varied. The hotel was perfectly functional, providing a good breakfast (the "English" choices of bacon, sausages and eggs were limited but the sausages were to die for), free wi-fi, tea and coffee making facilities in the room and in a great location for nearby restaurants. Other choices at the breakfast buffet included cold meats, salmon, fruit, yoghurts, spreads and a good variety of nice breads. The hotel staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful, all of them, from the housekeeper to the restaurant and reception staff. The hotel doesn't open the restaurant in the evening but does have a very limited room service for evening meals. This wasn't a problem as there are plenty of eating places close by. The room was clean, comfortable and warm, sometimes a little too warm and we had to ask for a bedsheet instead of a duvet. This was provided quickly. Our room (612) had a balcony large enough for a couple of garden chairs and the view was good (if you didn't look down). The only downside was that our room safe did not work and the lady from reception (sorry I didn't get her name) was extremely helpful, apologetic and concerned that she could not get it to work. This being the weekend, there was little chance of getting a technician in to repair it but it didn't cause us much grief. Our friends were also staying at the hotel and they also had a problem with their safe so perhaps this is something the hotel should look at. I would advise anyone staying at the hotel to check the working of the safe several times before actually using it. One of the lifts (elevators) was also inoperable but there is another lift and we never had to wait long for it to appear at our floor. Overall, the hotel provided a good service and, whilst a little expensive, we felt we had fairly good value. Thank you Leonardo for a good stay in your comfortable hotel.
I stayed here on business and apparently got an upgrade to an executive room. The room had all the usual items for the business traveller. The one surprise was the bright red tiles on the bathroom floor - a bit much really! It happened to rain very heavily overnight and I spent most of the night awake as there were constant heavy drips (more like a fountain) of water coming off the roof, splashing on the window sill and then against the window pane in a non-regular rhythm. Not a recipe for a good night's sleep! I mentioned this the next day and the receptionist took note and I eventually got an offer of a free meal next time I stayed there. Of course - there won't be a next time and an offer to reduce the room rate would have been much more acceptable. I dined there in a bistro section which was not separate from the main check-in area. It felt like eating in a hallway - odd. The food itself was OK but service was spasmodic, mainly because there was only one person serving and they had to go down to the kitchens to collect the meals. Not particularly good for either guests or the server. Breakfast was a buffet in a much nicer terrace room than the bistro area (why can't this be used for dinner?). Although it was clean enough, its not a hotel I would want to go back to.
