Had a very bad experience trying to book this hotel online. After several tries on their website (it kept changing the date on me) and on 3 different computers, including my Iphone, I called the hotel and was told I couldn't be helped, call back in the AM. Fair enough! I called in the morning (Germany time) and was told again I couldn't be helped, call back the next day. This went on for 3 more times (I had to call the hotel 4 times and still could not get help booking). I emailed the hotel instead, eventually got it sorted out by Melanie Gass (thank you Melanie) who honoured the price on their website (they continually wanted to charge me more than what their own website said). We had a rental car and the hotel has its own parking underground. Hotel was pretty nice, cute, small bar and a breakfast room. Don't know about food other than breakfast as I didn't eat in the hotel. Our room was clean and large, street facing (#907) with a beautiful view of the Neckar River and the castle. Room was quiet. Although I did have an allergic reaction to the bedding and was up all night (I'll assume its the chemicals they use) and had to find a drugstore for antihistamines. My husband said the bed & bedding was fine & comfortable. The room did not have heat and it was a bit cold and damp (the weather was aweful at the time) in the room. We heard other guests at breakfast complain of the same thing. The Reception desk personnel was not the sharpest and wasn't very helpful. Price for the what you get I think was expensive $124 euros (and that was a deal I had to argue for). Not sure if I'd stay there again. There are many other hotels to choose from. You could walk into the Alstadt (old town), castle, Neckar, etc. good location and plenty of restaurants to choose from. You're not far from the train station either (about 20 min walk).
We stayed here when I was on business. Though check in time mentioned on booking was 3pm, I was allowed to check in even though I arrived at 10am...I was very pleased. Though my room was facing road, it was very quiet. The room was clean and well maintained. Very near to city centre and well connected with tram & bus stops right across. Breakfast was good too. The only down side was that our room was on 1st floor just above the main entrance and one big flood light placed facing upward above the entrance was little irritant in the evening as well as night time.
I stayed a couple of days there and it was a good place. It’s not far from the center and it is also well connected with the city. Nice people, good breakfast and really clean and organize. It’s a good place to stay a couple of days in this beautiful city.
As frequent traveller, I was not impressed by the hotel experience. Sleeping quality and breakfast were OK. Check-in (with pre-payment that is quite un-common) took long, bathroom was smelly, shower power limited and hotel bar closed relative early.
You will find places more central. But you will not have parking right next to the hotel. This is a rather old Hotel from the outside, bt they managed the inside well. You have spacious rooms and the higher floors have a good view. Rooms are clean but a bit old-fashioned. Service is good, despite keeping personnel short. Breakfast buffet is very good.
Excellent location, very friendly staff, nice rooms, good breakfast. Only 5 minutes walking distance from Bismark platz and beginning of the pedestrian shopping street. it is very clean, rooms are comfortable.
I am a regular guest in this hotel and always return for their outstanding service. The location is also brilliant as it is in the center of Heidelberg. always pleased to come back to this hotel and mostly the service by the reception/bar are just excellent! rooms might be a bit dated and is important to note that you will get 2 single beds unless booking a premium room which will have a massive bed, definitely worth the upgrade. Wifi reception could improve as signal is normally weak.
Very good hotel. Quite classic atmosphere. Pretty big room and bathroom. Assorted breakfast. Perfectly located between central station (15 minutes walk) and city centre (20 minutes walk). Very nice staff.
Clean and nice hotel. Great location in safe neighborhood. The staff was friendly. You are only about 10 minutes walk to the historic dowbtown area. The beds are small, so for westerners be prepared. Overall nice.
My husband and I stayed here for four nights. The room and the bathroom were a nice size. Not too small, not too big. We had a room on the street with a great view of the town. The breakfast is excellent with many choices. There is also a bar near the lobby. The hotel is in a convenient and close to the public transportation. Also very close for walking to the shopping/tourist areas. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recomment this hotel!
