The hotel was lovely. Our room had a gorgeous view over a lovely open platz (though the bar was a little lively late into a Wednesday night with windows open). The rooms were extremely comfortable, the morning buffet was lovely, and the staff were warm and attentive. The location was easily walkable to old town and the castle for those who don't have issues walking on tour. We also enjoyed a drink in the platz outside the restaurant while there. This is a small owner operated hotel that has been in operation since November 2018. Overall it's well run and well situated (a bid off the tourist track across the river from Old Town Heidelberg but still walking distance). I would have given a higher rating if not for three issues: the rooms were very small (for example, there was no space to put an open suitcase and no armchair); the mattress was way too soft for me; the AC worked only if the room key was plugged in, implying that my room was rather hot after returning from may days out.
