We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Hotel Holt. Our room was always nice and warm, the bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of hot water at all times. As we had hired a car, we found the free parking at the hotel very useful, and we never had a problem finding a space. We enjoyed a really good breakfast each morning, with plenty of variety. The only slight fault was that the hotel looked a little tired in some areas, but for the type of holiday we were doing it did not bother us. The hotel was extremely well located, being an easy walk to everything in town. We would certainly stop there again if we ever return.

Stylish, old, needs maintenance although bathroom was renewed, good space, friendly service, quietly. Breakfast ok - service a little weak. Super food in the Gallery restaurant, friendly and accurate service although a bit hectic.

If you can, go for longer than 4 days! We didn't eat at Holt as it is expensive even by Icelandic standards. Reykjavik is a fascinating place. Harpa, where concerts are held, is well worth a visit. We also went to the Golden Circle with a tour company and it was breathtaking.

Very friendly and helpful staff, in good location for walking to the centre. Breakfast was very good; it had a lot of choice. Toiletries supplied; great. Room very large, but lacked drawers for clothes which could not be hung up. Bathroom small, but adequate and everything very clean.

We stayed here for 7 nights for our honeymoon. It is a lovely hotel with a luxurious feel and a very comfortable room (we had a suite with a lounge area). The staff were very friendly, breakfast very nice and the location perfect for walking into the heart of Reykjavik. There were a couple of minor issues with the room but too insignificant to even mention to the hotel whilst we were there and they had no adverse affect on our enjoyment of it. The only frustration was that there seemed to have been a change in city regulations which meant our transfer dropped us off at a bus terminal 15 minutes walk from the hotel and we had to walk here for each of our excursions too. The walk to the bus terminal in the snow and ice for our departure was not too easy and less mobile people might struggle - we could of course have got a taxi. Otherwise, we had a very enjoyable visit and would certainly recommend the hotel to others.

This is an historic hotel in Reykjavik with fine dining and a beautiful bar area. We met our daughter and son in law there for drinks as that's where they were staying. Gorgeous wood paneling everywhere and a very impressive collection of art by Icelandic artists wherever you looked. Wonderful drinks prepared by a very professional young man. If you are in Reykjavik even for a stopover, the Holt bar is a very worthwhile visit.

It’s all about the location with this hotel,, its not the prettiest or most modern but it’s actually quite a nice hotel ,, staff are friendly and helpful, room not huge but clean and comfortable,,, Reykjavík is a lively city especially on a weekend night and this hotel is just off the Main Street so it’s very close but is still quite,,, I didn’t use the restaurant but the included breakfast was very nice ..I would recommend this hotel for a trip to Reykjavík

Good location but would prefer something more modern. Staff helpful but didn't spend too much time in hotel. Breakfast sufficient but could have been more variety. Strange smell every day by reception think this was from the kitchen. Fridge in room very small and couldn't store own things. Room clean and bed very comfy.

I had a hard time finding a hotel to book in Iceland as they all looked so utilitarian and stark. Since we were traveling in late fall I wanted to find something a little cozier and historic. The Hotel Holt did not disappoint. The original Icelandic art is incredible and makes this a singular experience. Lots of character with very comfortable, unique and cozy public spaces. The bar is just so cool. The room was a little tight and utilitarian but the ambiance of the hotel makes up for that. The service was exceptional; the staff spent an extraordinary amount of time talking with us about where to eat and about their country. When they found out it was my birthday, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne on ice. Just a great experience at Hotel Holt.

Very happy with our stay at Hotel Holt. We arrived at 8.00am and were able to access our room immediately, and to enjoy breakfast, which was great after the night flight from NY. Our room was a good size, warm and very comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet location, but with easy access to the old town and harbour. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of gluten free choices. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The decor is interesting, clearly a very old hotel with original tiles and wood panelling.
