This hotel is charming and close (but not too close) to downtown. We opted for a suite and were pleased with the spacious room. It is an older hotel (hence the charming part) so don't expect a walk in shower or modern decor. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful with our questions about the area. Wifi, parking, and breakfast were all good and included with our booking.

HOlt Hotel is located in the heart of Reykjavik, ideally located for shopping and restaurants. The Harbour is within walking distance along with many Museums and places of interest. The staff were beyond excellent. They were friendly, helpful, polite and knowledgable. On our last day, they brought us complimentary drinks whilst we were waiting to be driven back to the Airport. THe complimentary daily breakfast was excellent. A good choice, including cereals, fruit, hot choices, pastries, yoghurts, a continental breakfast with extras 😀. The room was clean and comfortable, small but functional, with complimentary tea and coffee supplied and a minibar. It's also worthy of a mention that the tap water in the room is of a high drinking quality and ice was available from reception on request. We will be going back.

This is a European-style boutique hotel with four stories. It's located on a quiet street, but just a 5-10 minute walk from the center city district and main shopping streets. We found the location to be excellent. There is free parking on the street in front of the hotel, or in a private lot across the street. Our 4th floor double room was nothing special----small room with small bathroom, overall a little tight. But it was nicely furnished, with a desk and small chair, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a tiled shower. There is a small flat screen TV. We had a view of the famous Hallgrimskirkja church tower from the large windows in our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the exterior facade is not distinctive, the common areas in the hotel are impressive----a rather formal "country club" look, with a feel of history. There is a nice bar and comfortable sitting areas. Breakfast was very good, with a few hot items. The hotel's restaurant is one of the oldest fine dining spots in Reykjavik. The restaurant is a very formal place and pricey, even by Iceland standards. We didn't eat there, but the menu looked impressive. There are a great variety of good restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. One issue we had was that the Wi-Fi didn't work well in our room, and you had to go down to the lobby to get reception. Apparently it was a router problem that they were trying to fix, but a lot of guests were not happy about that. But overall we enjoyed our stay---great location and quiet hotel with a bit of a luxury feel.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel and will definitely stay again when we return to Reykjavik. It's a little outside of the city center (no more than a 10 minute walk) which meant that the neighborhood was quiet at night (but still totally safe- this is Iceland, after all). The hotel has a beautiful art collection and has an older style but quite striking decor. The staff was very nice and helpful, and the breakfast was substantial and quite good. We were there in the off-season so the prices were very reasonable as well. Highly recommend!

Perfect stay in beautiful hotel close to centre of old part of city but on quiet street, super helpful staff with excellent English, lovely art works, smart rooms, good breakfasts, tea making facilities in room

We had an utmost pleasant stay at this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. A very clean room with really comfortable beds. We have never slept this well! The interior feels very 70-ies, but very classy. Only a few minutes walk from the centre of Reyjkavik. The breakfast was nice, without excesses. The restaurant was expensive but offered fine dining. We would definitely stay here again!

When evrything is excellent, food service and surrondings (Icelandic art where ever you look and beautiful old furniture) alll this gives this hotel special atmosphere The only thing I can add is if you want to have a realy cosy night out go to Hotel Holt

Hotel Holt is in the perfect location to downtown Reykjavik. You can walk to dinner and all the shops and bars. It is dated, but did come with free breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was small but clean and bed was comfy.

We stayed at the Hotel Holt for a week in August and truly enjoyed it. The suite was quite large and very nice. The location is perfect--just a few blocks to most of the city sights. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. Vala did a great job with an art tour of the wonderful pieces in the hotel. It was quite interesting and the artwork enhances the common areas of the hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Small hotel, convenient location, with original artwork, owners collection throughout the hotel. Staff was very friendly, helpful and rooms very comfortable. Buffet breakfast gracefully presented, with excellent selections.
