This was my second stay at this hotel. They told me they had upgraded me to a “double” room but the bathroom was really small and cramped. Everything else was pretty good. Location is excellent. The staff were courteous and professional.

This property is well located within walking distance to all of downtown shopping and restaurants and clubs. It has perhaps the best restaurant in Reykjavik: The Gallery. Breakfast is included and goes beyond the usual European continental. Lots of options. The staff is outstanding - every request handled efficiently and with a smile.

The staff congratulated us on our wedding with a bottle of champagne upon arrival which was incredibly nice! The staff is extremely helpful with their restaurant recommendations and helped us a lot by offering to call our tour groups to confirm. The complimentary breakfast is delicious. The location is perfect! Just a couple of blocks from the main street (maybe a 5 min walk) but far enough so you don't hear the part goers late into the night. The main area can really get hopping late at night. I would definitely 100% recommend this hotel.

Hotel is close walk to all the hustle and bustle but far enough away to have peace and quiet. Rooms are small but very clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast was great. Parking on site. Great staff.

Staff are courteous and helpful but not overly friendly. Location is good close to all but far enough for quiet. Facilities are in good order. Restaurant is excellent. Parking lot is a plus.

Strengths: Location - close to city centre yet away from the weekend noise, excellent staff, very clean rooms. Weaknesses: Breakfast layout, which has you sharing a table with other guests.

Hotel is dated with pink carpet and tiny rooms. For $200, the single room is the size of a shoebox. The breakfast was the only thing good about the property.

Excellent....Excellent.....Excellent....Excellent....Don't be fooled by the exterior facade, one step within and trepidation fades. Wonderful place, every detail well managed - staff is friendly and helpful with any questions and requests. The breakfast which is included provided great variety and quality. To further enhance your experience, when looking for seating don't shuffle away to a quiet corner, but ask/or offer to join fellow guests and share the table! Exchanging experiences of Icelandic sights and daytrips is both informative and helpful. Absolutely everyone was cheerful and friendly. Only suggestion is request a room on the side away from the street. While the "Central District" begins four short convenient blocks away - the merrymakers walking past in the wee hours can be easily heard. They're just too happy, or I'm just too old!

Smooth check in & check out. Staff was professional, friendly, spoke great English and went out of their way to give travel advice and handle requests. Front desk was able to book any tour & transportation desired and charge to room. Beautiful artwork throughout hotel. They have largest privately held art collection in Iceland. Only complaint is they should invest in better curtains for the rooms since it never really gets dark in Iceland during Midsummer. (I'm spoiled by usually staying in high end American hotel chains which have good black out curtains.) Their curtains were better at blocking out the light than many other European hotels I've stayed at though. In a quiet residential neighborhood about a five minute walk to the crazy Reykjavik nightlife. Good breakfast and great gourmet hotel restaurant. Bar has the best single malt scotch and cognac selection in Iceland and great staff! Overall a great place to chill out in the "big" city of Reykjavik.

Very nice hotel in a good location. Worked well for our one night in Reykjavik before our flight the next am. Easy to get to and good parking.
